Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #507 - A Whirlwind Friday in London! 🩰🌸

Hello darlings! It's Friday again, and you know what that means... drumroll ... a brand new Pink Tutu Blog London post! This week I took a magical train journey up to London from my home in Derbyshire, all thanks to another fabulous performance at the local theatre. Oh, the joys of funding your dreams with a little bit of twirling! ✨

The train journey itself was an absolute dream. The sun was shining, the fields were green and rolling, and the gentle rocking of the train was almost enough to lull me into a graceful slumber. But I couldn't be tempted, not with the promise of London waiting for me.

I'd say that reaching King's Cross Station in London is one of my absolute favourite things. The bustling crowds, the sounds of chattering voices, and the faint smell of freshly baked bread - it's pure magic. I think I almost giggled as I skipped off the platform, my pink tutu swirling like a candyfloss dream. (Yes, I really was wearing a pink tutu! Can't go to London without one, darling!)

Today was all about exploring London, and let me tell you, I was on a mission!

First stop - The Ballet Shops!

Every Friday morning is all about finding my next dance outfit. Oh, how I love London for its array of fabulous dance shops. You name it, they've got it - from sparkly tutus and elegant pointe shoes to beautiful leotards and chic ballet bags. It's almost impossible to leave without a treasure or two... almost.

After much careful deliberation, I found myself clutching a shimmering pink leotard and a pair of delicate ballet shoes with sparkly satin ribbons. Don't worry, darling, I wasn't going to wear them just yet. I had bigger plans for these beauties. 😉

Second Stop - Theatreland!

Of course, I had to visit the heart of London theatre - Leicester Square. It was positively bursting with energy! I just love the buzzing atmosphere, the tantalising aroma of popcorn, and the excitement in the air. Every theatre looked like a magical palace, each promising a unique story to tell.

On my list today was "The Phantom of the Opera", and let me tell you, it lived up to every single expectation! The costumes were divine, the music was enchanting, and the story itself left me feeling a bit breathless. I'm a sucker for a good romantic drama, and the love story between Christine and the Phantom had my heart swirling like a ballerina in the middle of a performance. 💖

Third Stop - The Streets of London!

What's a day in London without a spot of window shopping? Oh, I must confess, I went a bit overboard with my window gazing. London just has such gorgeous shop windows! Each one is a work of art, overflowing with colourful displays and captivating displays. From classic boutiques to quirky independent shops, there was something to appeal to every taste.

Fourth Stop - Piccadilly Circus!

What better place to admire a colourful and vibrant display of advertising than at Piccadilly Circus? The bustling square with its giant illuminated screens is just fascinating! As always, I was fascinated by the sheer variety of brands and products advertised on these impressive billboards. A perfect example of London's lively energy.

Fifth Stop - Harrods!

Every good London day ends at Harrods. It’s my favourite place for luxurious indulgence! You know it's a favourite when even a ballerina like me needs an afternoon break! As I stepped into the iconic department store, a symphony of exquisite smells and sights surrounded me. From shimmering diamonds and exquisite perfumes to hand-stitched couture gowns and elegant tea rooms, Harrods is a haven for those who appreciate the finer things in life.

You know, I'm starting to think that everyone in London is as elegant as they are - everyone was looking fabulous! There were people everywhere wearing such stunning clothes. I know I'm a bit biased because I love pink, but London just feels like the city where it is accepted and expected to be stylish. And who better than a Pink Tutu Blogger to be your style guide in such a stunning and flamboyant city!

Now for a touch of self-reflection...

This week's Pink Tutu London blog is the culmination of my week. This is my 507th London Blog. 507 posts and a long way from my Derbyshire home, where I once dreamed of becoming a professional dancer. I still hold onto that dream. I do, but in my own way. I get to dress up and travel all across the UK, all funded by my performances and these blog posts. A girly ballerina wearing a pink tutu travelling the world… not everyone’s dream. But my dreams are all about pink, sparkle and ballet. You can read it here and everywhere I travel.

As you can see, I am quite a girly girl, but also quite sensible at the same time!

Today, it's my own fashion parade, because I am going to wear a special tutu!

The one with the pink sparkle! Because everyone should wear a pink tutu. At least for one day, just try it.

I've got my tickets for another show tonight, "Thriller Live!" And if I get a chance between shows I may be heading over to Kensington Gardens and taking a stroll through the park! Such a beautiful and magical setting! I may just do a little impromptu performance or two for the swans. 🦢 (I love how graceful they look swimming around! Just like my favourite ballerina Swan Lake! 🦢🩰).

Well, that's it for my London escapades for this week! It's time for me to get my glitter and sparkles ready and go find some fabulous London pizza for dinner! (If you’re in London, my personal recommendation is to find somewhere that has a pepperoni pizza and pineapple on it… heaven)

Until next Friday, darlings!

Keep it pink and sparkly! 💖✨

Your Pink Tutu Blogger, Emma.
