Pink Tutu Blog London: Friday 2009-02-13 - Exploring the Big Smoke!

Post number 650! Can you believe it, my lovelies? Six hundred and fifty posts on my Pink Tutu Blog, and we're still going strong. Today, we're taking a little trip to the big smoke - London! The train ride from Derbyshire was simply divine. As I sat, my trusty pink tutu nestled amongst my bag, I couldn't help but smile at the charming fellow passengers. It's truly amazing how even a simple thing like a pink tutu can brighten someone's day. A little girl on the train, her eyes wide with wonder, giggled as she pointed at my twirling pink skirt. Such sweet innocence!

Of course, before I could step onto the platform, I had to strike a few poses - a twirling, leaping ballerina in my pink tutu, captured on the camera by a kindly gentleman who happened to be passing. My London adventures are always extra special. The city is simply bursting with colour, energy, and excitement!

London's vibrant soul calls to my fashionista heart. I love it! I can't even begin to explain the feeling of stepping off the train at King's Cross and feeling the buzz of London. You could cut the energy with a knife, it's so vibrant. It's as if the whole city is buzzing with anticipation and creativity - the kind of energy that feeds my ballerina soul and my passion for all things fabulous!

Today's schedule? A delightful mix of exploring, theatre, and a dash of pink, of course! I'm in London to see the enchanting "Romeo and Juliet" at the Globe Theatre, followed by an evening of cocktails and decadent treats in Covent Garden. The London weather, for a change, has been utterly perfect ā€“ bright sunshine, crisp air, and just a touch of a chill in the air that gives my pink tutu that little extra twirl factor.

First stop, Carnaby Street! It's the beating heart of Londonā€™s youth culture, where trends are born, fashion statements are made, and everyone is embracing their individuality. Itā€™s like walking into a kaleidoscope of color and personality, a visual symphony of art, style, and a whole lot of charm!

And it would be a crime against pink fashion if I didn't stop by a few of the vintage clothing stores I have my eye on - the perfect place to hunt down some unique and unexpected pieces to add to my ballerina wardrobe! It's amazing how London is a constant source of inspiration for a girl like me who loves fashion and color as much as I do! And for my fellow pink lovers, you can imagine my absolute delight when I saw the incredible array of pink garments on offer! I just knew a few pieces would find their way back to my little studio in Derbyshire, wouldnā€™t they?

Lunch at a quintessentially London cafƩ is a must! I found the most charming cafƩ, filled with the aromas of freshly brewed coffee and mouthwatering cakes - it's a deliciously quintessential British experience! And while I enjoy a perfectly brewed latte, I simply have to share my excitement over my latest fashion find: a vibrant pink tutu skirt that just screamed "London!" to me. Of course, it's perfect for all the dancing and twirling that will happen this weekend. It truly is an essential item for my ballerina travels!

Then, off to the Globe! Iā€™ve seen several ballet performances this month, from ā€œGiselle" to "The Sleeping Beauty." Each show is an explosion of beauty, movement, and emotions. The artistry of the dancers, the stunning costumes, and the power of storytelling, all combine to make ballet an extraordinary experience. This weekend, Iā€™m treating myself to a special performance of Shakespeareā€™s "Romeo and Juliet." I simply had to experience Shakespeareā€™s immortal work performed on the famous Globe Theatre stage - a unique, open-air theatre, truly a unique cultural experience.

As I watched the play unfold, I found myself transported back to Verona, to the drama, love, and tragedy of their lives. And how better to show my appreciation than to give the final act a tutu-twirling round of applause! I felt a thrill rush through my entire body.

The evening is still young, and London is still full of energy. The world outside is glittering with fairy lights and energy, and my pink tutu is just beginning to make an impact! After ā€œRomeo and Juliet,ā€ I treated myself to a delicious dinner at one of Covent Garden's many fine eateries. It's amazing to see how much character is present on every corner!

With a full heart and an even fuller stomach, I make my way to The Playhouse Theatre for an unforgettable evening. And with each step, I just knew this wasn't just a day of exploring, but a magical day for my pink tutu!

I often think that London has the ability to make the most ordinary of days extraordinary. And what could be more perfect for a ballerina blogger on a Friday night in London than a fabulous performance at the theatre! The atmosphere was electric! And I simply couldn't resist the urge to let loose. The theatre became my stage.

As I watch the curtain fall, I realize that my day in London wasnā€™t simply a day of exploration and theatre but a wonderful tutu adventure! The energy, the creativity, the endless excitement of the city infused with the grace of ballet ā€” a winning combination!

And as I say my goodbyes to the enchanting London lights for this weekend, I promise my faithful pink tutu we will return. We have so much more to explore, so many more ballet performances to experience, and a whole world of fashion awaits. Until next Friday, dear readers, keep on twirling, keep on believing in the magic of a pink tutu, and keep exploring!
