Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #651 - A Whirlwind Friday in London Town! 🩰💖
Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back with another Friday dose of London loveliness!
This week, I travelled to London by train. Oh, the excitement of a good old-fashioned train journey! There's something so charming about the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels, the scent of freshly brewed tea and the camaraderie amongst fellow passengers. All topped off with the breathtaking view of the English countryside flying by!
I felt positively glamorous, sporting my new pink tutu - naturally! This one was a vibrant fuschia, so I wore it with my favourite pair of chunky heeled white trainers for a sassy touch. And as you can see from my trusty selfie stick, the sunlight seemed to dance around me, perfectly illuminating the shimmering pink tulle.
Now, let me tell you about my whirlwind Friday!
A Symphony of Sound at the BarbicanI kicked off the day with a delightful performance at the Barbican. Imagine: the warm, comforting glow of the auditorium, the elegant rows of plush red seats and the sweet, slightly spicy smell of popcorn. It felt positively magical.
This time, I was lucky enough to catch a show by the London Sinfonietta, a contemporary classical orchestra known for pushing the boundaries of musical innovation. Oh, my darlings, I was spellbound! The music soared, the tempo twisted, and the sound resonated deep within me. I felt utterly transported, lost in a world of harmonious beauty.
Finding Treasures on the London StreetsMy stomach rumbled with excitement as the last note faded into the air, signaling that it was time to explore London's bustling streets! My dear friends, there's truly no better feeling than wandering down cobbled alleyways, past charming Victorian facades, and uncovering hidden gems.
This week, my mission was to seek out vintage clothing boutiques. London, you see, is an absolute haven for vintage fashion lovers. And for me, there's nothing more delightful than stumbling upon a 1950s full skirt, a 1970s sequined top, or a vintage lace evening gown that screams “Emma, this is made for you!”
And believe me, my quest was fruitful! I scored a gloriously flamboyant emerald green 1980s ball gown that wouldn't look out of place in a vintage ballet costume. I paired it with a bold pink sequined top – the perfect touch of Pink Tutu magic, if I do say so myself. I can't wait to show you all the pictures of the full outfit soon!
Ballet Fever at Sadler's WellsOf course, no Friday in London would be complete without a ballet class at Sadler's Wells, London’s home for dance. The dance studio buzzed with energy as experienced dancers and ballet beginners alike, stretched and twirled. And as I pirouetted through the graceful movements, the strains of Tchaikovsky’s ‘Swan Lake’ flowed around me, creating an air of pure ballet bliss!
You know how much I love my pink tutu. And trust me, my fellow dance lovers looked rather jealous when I glided effortlessly through the studio in my pink tutu with all eyes on me! Let's just say the pink tutu made quite the impression on the fellow ballet dancers! They all wanted to know where I got it and told me to check out their social media page when I got home, maybe we can get together for another pink tutu ballet session next time!
A Delightful Dining ExperienceWith my steps a little less sprightly and my tummy rumbling again, I sought out a restaurant to refuel for the final leg of my journey home. I’m on a bit of a ‘traditional British food’ spree right now so I decided to head over to The Queen’s Head in Covent Garden.
It’s an authentically cosy and stylish pub, packed full of local history, offering an unpretentious yet delicious menu, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. For dinner, I enjoyed a heartwarming cottage pie, piled high with creamy mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious!
A Fond Farewell and a Pink Tutu WishAs the day drew to a close, the setting sun painted the London sky in vibrant hues of orange, pink, and gold - it was a breathtaking farewell. It really does have the most magical skies here in London, perfect for a Pink Tutu selfie.
I caught the last train back to Derbyshire, reflecting on all the amazing experiences of this Friday in London. My pink tutu, of course, made the trip with me. It seems London has its own unique rhythm, full of unexpected twists and turns. The air buzzes with a sense of endless possibilities and a certain joie de vivre that is quite simply infectious.
But hey, I can’t let you all go without a challenge, so… this Friday I want all of you to consider taking a pink tutu with you as you go about your day. Whether it's for a stroll in the park, a trip to the shops, a coffee date or even a ballet class. It's all about spreading the Pink Tutu love and making every day feel special. We can make this world a much brighter and more fun place, one pink tutu at a time!
See you next Friday, darlings, for more London adventures! Don’t forget to follow the Pink Tutu journey at www.pink-tutu.com and remember to wear your pink tutu with pride!
