Pink Tutu Blog London - Post 673: Friday 2009-07-24 - A London Adventure in Pink!
Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger, and today is Friday, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu Blog London post! This week, I'm whisking you away on a whirlwind adventure to London, the capital city that never sleeps, and I can tell you now - it’s a trip full of fashion, fun, and of course, plenty of pink!
The Pink Tutu Journey Begins! You see, darling, it wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu adventure without a bit of train travel. Now, I know some folks are scared of train journeys, but for me, it's the perfect opportunity to settle in, grab a coffee, and start a good book! My trusty pink polka-dotted travel bag, full of pink-tastic outfits and my ballerina essentials, sits beside me. And who needs a first-class ticket when you've got a pink tutu and a heart full of adventure, eh?
It's been a busy week. As usual, I've been swirling through life with performances. Did you catch me at the Derbyshire Youth Ballet's performance of "Cinderella" on Tuesday? It was a total dream, complete with my own custom-made tutu - a shimmering lavender beauty with layers upon layers of tulle.
My life is all about embracing those pink tutu moments - dancing my heart out and sharing the love of ballet with everyone. That’s how I fund these London trips – by following my passion, turning my tutu dreams into reality!
London - City of Dreams and Dazzling PinkAnd so, the train whisked me through the beautiful English countryside, dropping me off right in the heart of London – St Pancras Station! The soaring arches, the bustling crowds, the excited chatter, it's simply electrifying!
But you know what? My excitement doesn't stop at the station. London is bursting with life and energy – every corner has its own unique magic. I'm sure many of you already know my love of exploring London. The city is so captivating - it’s a symphony of cobbled streets, charming cafes, towering buildings, and bustling markets. The air itself whispers with history, glamour, and creative energy.
For today’s London adventure, I’m dressed for a fashion extravaganza. A coral pink tutu – not just any tutu, darling – this one’s handcrafted with tiny sequins and a delicate floral design. My white tulle petticoat gives it a graceful poof, and my lavender ballerina flats give the outfit just a touch of elegance. And, of course, a sprinkle of pink glittery makeup! You can’t be too pink in this city, right?
A Whirlwind through Westminster and MayfairNow, let me tell you, my schedule is packed! But I wouldn't have it any other way. After all, London's a city where every hour can be a beautiful discovery. First stop, the majestic Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, a classic landmark. You wouldn’t believe the photo opportunities! A girl simply has to get that perfect shot in a city so full of amazing photo-worthy corners.
Then, a quick hop onto the London Eye for stunning panoramic views of the city. And, yes, my pink tutu managed to blend perfectly into this view - as elegant as a feather in a gentle breeze, I'd say! It’s so inspiring to gaze over the cityscape. London – a hub of creativity, style, and endless opportunity. It makes me want to twirl until I can't twirl anymore.
For lunch, darling, we went for a spot of quintessential London afternoon tea – with pink lemonade of course, because we’re always spreading the pink tutu love, even in London. It was a delicate ballet of finger sandwiches, scones, and dainty pastries, all enjoyed under the dappled sunlight that peeked through the cafe window. Absolutely heavenly!
A Symphony of Sounds and Colours – Ballet and BeyondThen came the highlight of the day: an evening at the Royal Opera House for a performance of Swan Lake. You just can’t resist a good ballet when in London. There’s a certain magical charm that draws me towards them. The magnificent setting of the opera house, the beautifully dressed audience, and of course the sheer artistry of the dance - all of it makes my heart skip a beat.
Oh, my dears, it was an experience of pure beauty. Every twist and turn, every graceful pirouette and leap, was so wonderfully enchanting. The music transported me to another world – a world where tutus swirl, and dancers glide like feathers on the wind. Honestly, seeing Swan Lake performed by the world-class dancers of the Royal Ballet… that was simply a dream come true!
But London's artistic magic doesn’t stop there. Later, we took a wander through Covent Garden. The street performers, the colourful market stalls, the vibrant atmosphere... The whole place feels like a stage! We found a lovely street artist capturing the scene with a beautiful water colour – I had to buy one as a memory of this lovely day. It’ll sit next to my photos from today on my dressing table - right by the framed ballet posters!
And of course, I couldn’t leave London without a quick visit to the famous Covent Garden market. I picked up some lovely, glittery pink hair ties and an absolutely divine coral pink flower brooch to accentuate my ballerina wardrobe. This market truly has everything. I found some darling little ballet-themed notebooks - for my diary of course! And let’s not forget the fantastic vintage-style dresses – one particularly wonderful emerald green number caught my eye! Oh, darling, you just can’t go wrong shopping in Covent Garden!
Sharing the Pink Tutu Love in LondonToday, darling, was all about the magic that London has to offer – a whirlwind of art, culture, fashion, and of course, lots and lots of pink. And every minute was absolutely breathtaking. I love London for its unique energy, for its embrace of the unexpected and its unwavering zest for life.
And, my dears, let’s be honest - what’s more fitting than a city that welcomes creativity in every form than to host a Pink Tutu revolution? Who wouldn't want to add a touch of magic to their lives with a touch of pink? I have a hunch that the Pink Tutu is about to have a major London moment - perhaps everyone will be joining my pink tutu revolution soon!
Stay tuned, my darling pink-tutu loving friends,London has already enchanted me once more. And with its never-ending inspiration, it promises endless new adventures for our Pink Tutu journey! As we say in my Derbyshire village – keep those twirling shoes polished! And, until next Friday, remember to embrace the pink!
Love, Emma
