Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #685

Friday, 16th October 2009

Hello my darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, back with another blog post! Today is extra special - I'm finally in London! I hopped on a train from Derbyshire this morning and after a rather delightful journey through the English countryside, I'm here in the bustling capital, ready to embrace all that London has to offer.

As you know, London is my absolute favourite city in the world. The architecture, the culture, the people - it all feels so vibrant and alive! Plus, it's a shopaholic's paradise - I can already picture myself losing hours wandering the bustling markets and elegant department stores, searching for that perfect pink tulle dress to add to my ever-growing collection.

My heart flutters every time I hear that famous train whistle as it announces my arrival in London. This city holds a special place in my heart. My very first ballet class was in London - I can still remember that thrilling moment of feeling those wooden floors beneath my tiny toes. From that day forward, London has been the backdrop to countless amazing performances, dazzling theatre shows, and even the most stylish and wonderful shopping trips imaginable.

Of course, I can't travel without my pink tutu! My faithful, fluffiest friend is my lucky charm and it seems to magically bring sunshine and smiles wherever I go. Even in the heart of bustling London, everyone seems to appreciate a flash of pink tulle, and you wouldn't believe the number of people who ask me about it!

Today, I'm going to be immersing myself in London's artistic scene. First, I'm popping down to Covent Garden, my beloved home of all things dance. There's something truly magical about the energy that crackles through those streets! Later, I'm catching the premiere of a brand new ballet show at the Sadler's Wells Theatre - how exciting!

But first, a proper London treat: afternoon tea! I simply cannot be in London without indulging in the most adorable finger sandwiches and delicate cakes. A cup of tea and some dainty pastries - perfection! It's the best way to fuel myself for a full day of dancing and exploring. I might even be daring enough to order a pink cake... (don't judge!).

I can already feel a blog post brimming with excitement about this amazing trip! I can't wait to share all my adventures with you - the dance performances, the hidden gem shops, and even those charming London streets where the sunlight casts warm glows onto the buildings.

Stay tuned for more fabulous photos, inside looks at all the London shows and of course, a delightful outfit diary. Remember, don't be afraid to embrace your inner ballerina and wear pink! Let's spread joy, laughter, and a touch of pink tulle wherever we go.

Until next Friday, my darlings! Keep dancing and keep sparkling!

Exploring London on a Friday

London truly came alive this Friday afternoon, as soon as my feet hit Covent Garden.

From the bustling market stalls overflowing with fruit and flowers, to the intricate mosaics on the pavement and the joyful buzz of tourists and Londoners alike - this place felt so alive.

It was like being transported into a colourful musical! There were street performers weaving magic with their juggling, music and acrobatics - even a charming mime brought a smile to my face with his playful antics!

I spent a happy hour wandering through the cobblestone alleys, mesmerised by the street art, the boutiques filled with unique and whimsical gifts and those adorable little cafes offering mouthwatering cakes. I couldn't resist buying a miniature porcelain ballerina โ€“ a little reminder of my passion and a new addition to my growing collection.

Next, I strolled over to the Royal Opera House. The grand architecture left me speechless! Its stunning facade whispered stories of incredible productions and acclaimed dancers.

As I walked towards Sadler's Wells, I found myself utterly captivated by the sights and sounds of the city. The sun was setting, painting the buildings in shades of gold and rose - a perfect scene to inspire a dance sequence.

And I was off to my final destination: The Sadler's Wells Theatre. I couldn't wait to witness this incredible ballet premiere. I had been looking forward to this show all week. As the lights dimmed and the music swelled, the magic of ballet was undeniable. It was the perfect end to a perfect day in London.

Shopping for Pink Tulle

And of course, no trip to London is complete without a dose of fashion therapy! The stores beckoned with rows upon rows of glittering gowns, beautiful accessories and some pretty fab pink dresses.

I popped into Liberty London โ€“ it was like walking into a storybook with all the colorful fabrics and whimsical displays. The shop floor resembled a magical fairy garden, brimming with enchanting treasures and tempting displays. It truly felt like a wonderland for lovers of pink tulle and beautiful things.

Libertyโ€™s signature prints - all those blooming floral patterns - inspired me to dream up a new line of pink tulle skirts with matching floral tops! It was like an explosion of creativity, and the ideas just flowed!

Next, it was on to Oxford Street. The flagship stores on this grand avenue dazzled my eyes with shimmering storefronts. A sea of luxury brands awaited, but I was drawn to one store in particular: the ultimate pink paradise โ€“ a shop that specialises in pretty, girlish things, filled with a collection of every possible shade of pink. Oh, my darling โ€“ it was pure magic! I picked up a stunning pink ruffled shawl and some silk hair ribbons, my latest wardrobe treasures!

Delicious London Delights

This trip wouldn't be complete without a taste of some truly wonderful London treats.

Of course, I had my tea and dainty pastries โ€“ they truly hit the spot! A tiny finger sandwich filled with creamy cucumber and a melt-in-your-mouth Victoria sponge cake were pure perfection.

I also found a hidden gem of a cafe - a quirky, vintage tea room filled with comfy armchairs and mismatched china teacups, right near a bustling marketplace. I devoured a pink meringue topped with juicy strawberry jam โ€“ a sugary cloud of happiness!

A Day Full of Wonder

London always sweeps me off my feet with its charm and endless entertainment. This Friday felt like the most perfect ballerina adventure - a kaleidoscope of beauty, dancing, and delicious treats! Iโ€™m already plotting my next trip and dreaming of all the exciting things London will reveal next.

But for now, I'm heading home, exhausted but exhilarated, to put together a post all about this incredible journey!

Until next Friday, keep dancing, and let your light shine bright!
