Pink Tutu Blog London: #696 - A Tutu-ful Friday in the Big Smoke! 🩰🌸

Hey there, tutu-loving lovelies! Emma here, reporting live from the fabulous capital of England – London! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London adventure. 🎉 I just arrived in the city after a glorious train journey, my trusty pink tutu tucked neatly into my suitcase (naturally!). I adore the feeling of those rails rolling beneath me, especially with a grand city adventure awaiting at the end of the line.

The air in London feels so different; a heady mix of exhaust fumes and excitement. I just know I’m going to be seeing so much beauty and fabulous fashion, which is always fuel for the Pink Tutu fire. I’m channeling all the excitement of the opening night of a show in a grand old theatre, my heart is a-flutter!

Speaking of excitement, you've probably gathered that this week's Pink Tutu adventures were funded by a dazzling performance at the Derby Theatre last weekend. A sell-out show for Sleeping Beauty, where my role as the mischievous Fairy Snowflake, let's just say, caused quite a stir. The applause echoed long after I curtsied, reminding me that all this fun, these amazing London explorations, all stem from a love for ballet. My life truly is a twirling fairytale! ✨

Today’s itinerary is a pink explosion of loveliness, darling! I've planned a day of indulging in all things girly: fabulous shopping in Oxford Street, lunch at a quaint tea room, and – get this – tickets to see a live ballet performance in the evening. My heart beats faster just thinking about it!

So, let’s go on a London adventure, my fellow tutu enthusiasts! Buckle up, grab your finest pink lipstick, and let's go…

Morning: A Spot of Retail Therapy at Oxford Street

As soon as I arrive in my hotel, I change into a simple white tee with my trusty pink tutu layered over it - no time for anything else! This outfit, paired with my favourite pink handbag (naturally), is all the statement I need on a day dedicated to discovering London's fashion gems. My first stop? Oxford Street, a street that’s as full of personality as my tutu collection! It’s the place where every shop window tells a story, with the latest fashions enticing you in like a siren song.

You could easily spend a whole day just walking up and down Oxford Street. It's a melting pot of shops and stalls selling everything from affordable treasures to the most exquisite designers. Today I’m in the market for a brand new ballet bag – one worthy of carrying my beloved tutu (of course it will be pink!), a pair of stylish pumps with a slight ballerina vibe, and maybe some fab accessories to add a touch of sparkle to my wardrobe.

After an afternoon spent exploring and filling my bags, I grab a hot chocolate (with marshmallows!) from a street stall. I stop at a quaint, traditional looking cafe and order the “tea for one”. You see, you’ve got to experience a British classic, a scone, jam and cream – the quintessential afternoon treat. As I devour this divine treat and savour my chocolatey warmth, the afternoon sun dips behind the buildings, casting London in a romantic glow.

Evening: Ballet Magic in the Royal Opera House

Speaking of magic, the grand finale of my London day is a night at the opera, oh the glamour! I’ve got a ticket for The Royal Ballet – the perfect treat after a day of discovering fashion in all its forms! You see, it’s an art form that just mesmerizes me.

The moment you enter the Royal Opera House it's as if you've stepped into another era. The plush velvet seats, the chandeliers that glitter with a thousand sparkling crystals, the whispers of excitement – I could feel a tear of pure joy coming to my eye! There’s nothing like being swept up in a grand theatre, where stories unfold on stage before your very eyes.

My eyes are fixed on every intricate move the dancers make, their leaps soaring across the stage like a feathered dream. I sit and watch, entranced, mesmerized by their effortless elegance and the intricate stories they tell with every gesture. This isn't just entertainment; it’s art. It's a world woven with beauty and power and every ounce of artistry I hold dear. It's what sets my soul ablaze. I watch until my toes are tapping, the final applause resounding through the theatre like a sweet melody.

This day, oh darling, this day has been filled with dreams come true! The warmth of the sun on my face as I walked down Oxford Street, the satisfyingly heavy bags in my arms brimming with new fashion treasures, and the sheer awe I felt watching the ballet dancers spin and twirl with their pure elegance and skill. All this reminds me why I live to wear my pink tutu, and why this is my story, and my dream.

But there's so much more to London. Every nook and cranny whispers stories and every cobbled street unfolds new delights. Don't forget, I’ll be sharing more of these London adventures every week, right here, on my Pink Tutu Blog London! Come back next Friday, darlings, for another trip filled with sunshine, sparkle, and, yes, lots of pink tutus!

Until then, keep twirling and spreading that pink love,

Emma 🩰 💕
