#PinkTutuBlogLondon: A Tutu-tastic Friday in London! (Post #743)

Hello darlings!

It’s Friday again, which means it’s time for another installment of #PinkTutuBlogLondon! This week, I packed my trusty pink tutu and my ballerina-approved travel essentials and set off for a whirl through London. It was a trip brimming with excitement, twirls, and, of course, lots and lots of pink!

This week I am staying in a little gem of a hotel just off Oxford Street. My room is small but sweet, just like my favourite ballet shoes. It comes with a luxurious bed covered in frilly pink pillows and a vanity desk where I can plan my tutu outfits for the week. It feels like a little piece of ballet heaven!

Speaking of tutu outfits, I knew that London's streets would provide the perfect backdrop for my sartorial adventures. You simply can't underestimate the impact of a fabulous tutu when navigating London’s fashion scene. This Friday I chose my dazzling lilac tutu for my trip, it went perfectly with a fluffy lavender knitted cardigan, a pink beanie hat, and my trademark ruby red lipstick.

Oh, and did I mention I’m fuelled by the joy of a perfect pink iced latte, every time I head out, with all my friends back in Derbyshire just itching for more pics to keep up with me in my little world. The journey here by train was actually very calming. I found a little comfy corner for myself and sat back to take in the world through the window. The countryside scenery outside of my train window passed by in a flurry of colors that would have been inspiring to a painter like Monet - green fields of the countryside swirled past in soft tones and then suddenly burst with crimson and amber foliage. It truly reminded me how beauty surrounds us, even when we're rushing from one destination to the next. And when you’re adorned in a sparkly pink tutu, well, it feels like every day can be a day filled with ballet-inspired fun and magic!

I was so excited to spend the day exploring all that London has to offer! Of course, no visit to London is complete without a visit to the iconic Buckingham Palace. This time I wanted to try something different and see the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at St James’s Palace and walk back past Horse Guards. This really gave me an inside look at the historical traditions and grandeur of the royal family. As I watched, my tutu, it seems, got plenty of approving glances from those on parade duty, not to mention a rather encouraging smile from one of the soldiers!

My next stop was the West End. And boy, oh boy, was I excited to watch "Hamilton!" What a show, so much history, rap and a wonderfully diverse cast! This show has been in London for a while now, so it was amazing to experience the live magic. My favourite bit was the song "Helpless" - I just love those powerful, inspiring words. As the music swelled and the dancing grew more vigorous I realised, you know, wearing my tutu wasn't too out of place for the theatrical ambiance of this place at all, because just about everybody is dressed up and ready for a theatrical treat here!

Once the show was done, I realised it was getting late, but I still had one very special stop planned, because it's just not a trip to London without a little shopping on Oxford Street! The shops were all dazzling and sparkling, just like a fairy tale wonderland for shoes and fashion! The bright lights and busy shoppers added to the fun, as did the happy chatter around me. After much contemplation, I bought a new pair of black ballerina flats (that, of course, match my black tutu) and a silk scarf to match my new lilac tutu. You can never have too many tutus and accessorizing is so much fun - It’s like taking ballet and fashion out for a romantic twirl together!

Oh, one other thing that was rather special happened today! As I was waiting for a cab outside the hotel (it seemed to be the only day there weren't any!), I saw a couple dressed in beautiful period clothes for their wedding photos! And yes, the lady was wearing a glorious pink tutu under her dress - I had to tell her it looked fantastic. She was ecstatic! As they twirled away on the cobbles it felt like a scene from a period drama. A great sign for my mission, don't you think? Perhaps those wedding photos will go viral. Maybe my campaign of the pink tutu taking over the world is actually catching on!

You know what? I do truly believe in the transformative power of a good pink tutu! Not only does it bring a touch of magic and delight wherever it goes, but it's also a symbol of confidence and empowerment. So, darlings, remember this as you head out this weekend: Be bold. Be fearless. Wear that pink tutu with pride. The world needs more pink!

Stay sparkly!

Your Pink Tutu friend,

Emma
