#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Friday 2010-12-10: London Calling! 🩰

Hello my darling tutufarians!

It's Friday, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuBlogLondon post, and guess what? I'm in London! 🚃💖 I arrived this morning on the train, leaving the beautiful Derbyshire countryside behind for a whirlwind of theatre, fashion, and of course, more pink tutus.

This is post number 745 in my London blog series – can you believe it? Seven hundred and forty-five posts chronicling my London adventures! 🤯 Each week, I get to share the excitement of this incredible city with you lovely lot. It truly makes me giddy to know I’m reaching so many people with my love for tutus, fashion, and ballet.

So let me tell you all about my fantastic Friday in the capital. First things first, I had to find the perfect pink tutu for my day of adventures. Thankfully, the lovely ladies at the West End’s "The Ballet Shop" never disappoint – it’s a haven of twirly joy. This time, it was a gorgeous tulle confection, the most delicate shade of blush pink, perfect for waltzing through Covent Garden.

After my sartorial success, it was time for a bite to eat. A quintessentially British cream tea was the order of the day - a mountain of fluffy scones, lashings of clotted cream, and perfectly brewed tea. It was divine. And to be honest, who can resist a dainty scone while wearing a pink tutu? 😉

Full of sugar and charm, I headed towards the Royal Opera House. I was seeing “The Nutcracker” tonight and I'd been looking forward to it for ages! As always, the magical story, Tchaikovsky's magnificent music, and the incredible costumes brought me to tears - happy tears, of course! It was breathtaking. The whole performance was absolutely divine!

Fashion Focus: Let’s be honest, tutus are a big part of my life, but you wouldn't catch me wearing one all the time (though some might think that's not such a bad idea). For my trip to the theatre, I paired a sparkly black sweater with my favourite leatherette skirt. Black and pink are just so classic and the sweater brought a bit of a vintage vibe – very Mary Quant! To complete the look, a sleek black top knot and a splash of pink lipstick. 💄

You know, one thing I love about London is that the city embraces all sorts of fashion, and tutus fit right in! From the bold, avant-garde style in the art districts to the sophisticated tailoring in Mayfair, London has a style for every taste, and a welcome mat for anyone in a pink tutu!

Shopping Spree! After the performance, I popped into Harrods for a bit of window-shopping. I love browsing the beautifully displayed windows – the displays were utterly extravagant this month. And to my delight, one window featured an adorable little ballerina in a tutu! Of course, I had to take a selfie in front of it! 😜 It was so much fun. And yes, the #PinkTutuBlogLondon mission was in full force as I snuck in a tiny pink feather boa (pink boa anyone?!) on my shopping trip.

With my bag packed full of delightful trinkets and my tutu ready for another whirl, I finished my evening with a glass of fizz at the delightful "The Savoy" bar – a quintessential London experience! 🥂 I must say, wearing a pink tutu does have its advantages! You stand out, and people are always happy to help with a friendly smile and a “Lovely Tutu!”

I have to tell you, it was a truly magical day, just another day in the life of a pink tutu wearing ballerina in London. And the best part? It was a reminder that even in the heart of a bustling city, you can find a bit of wonder, a little bit of joy, and a whole lot of pink tutu magic! ✨

Stay tuned for more #PinkTutuBlogLondon adventures next week! Don't forget, you can follow my journey every week on the website www.pink-tutu.com - it’s our pink tutu paradise! 💖 Let me know what you’ve been up to this week!
