Pink Tutu Blog London: Friday 2012-08-10 - Exploring London, One Pink Tutu at a Time!

Post Number 832

Hello, darlings! Itā€™s Emma here, back with another weekā€™s adventures from the dazzling world of London! My tutuā€™s all aflutter with excitement as I share with you the latest on my trip to the Big Smoke, a city that truly lives up to its name. Iā€™ve arrived in London by train - ah, there's something about the clickety-clack of the rails and the panoramic view that just puts me in a joyful mood. This week, I'm aiming to take you all on a whirlwind tour of London, pink tutu-style, and I hope to inspire you to grab your own tulle and join me in making the world a more fabulous place!

The London Calling: Itā€™s All About the Theatre!

You know me, a girl can never get enough of the stage, so this week's visit to London was all about taking in some fantastic theatre performances. And what a week for it, with a dazzling mix of ballet, musicals and even a sprinkle of classic Shakespeare!

From Swan Lake to Wicked: A Ballet Loverā€™s Paradise

As always, I started my London adventure at the Royal Opera House for their latest production of "Swan Lake". This classic tale was performed to perfection, and Iā€™m still lost for words. There were leaps and pirouettes that made me want to climb onto the stage and dance alongside the incredible dancers!

But this wasnā€™t the only ballet that stole my heart. I managed to snag tickets for the English National Balletā€™s captivating "Giselle" at the London Coliseum. It was such a treat, full of gorgeous costumes and powerful storytelling, I've never seen such a talented company! This is why Iā€™m here in London, for the fantastic opportunities to see these incredible ballet shows! It really is the pinnacle of entertainment.

And Onward to Musical Madness!

Then, I had a fab evening at the Apollo Theatre taking in the magic of the ā€œWickedā€ production. If you havenā€™t seen this musical, do yourself a favour and grab some tickets. This story was so clever, funny and moving, Iā€™d certainly recommend adding it to your ā€œto-seeā€ list. Theyā€™re running the show through until October this year, so plenty of time to snag a ticket!

Shopping Spree and Fashion Flair: Itā€™s All Pink, of Course!

I'd be lying if I didnā€™t mention the glorious London shops. I could spend days here browsing through the vibrant and colourful shops! But todayā€™s shopping adventure had a focus: my absolute favourite pink tutu store in London. It's a hidden gem nestled on a cobblestone street with a charming shop front that screams "tutus for everyone!".

My latest find was a stunning tulle tutu, in the most magnificent shade of fuchsia youā€™ve ever seen! This beauty will be making its stage debut next week at a local theatre performance, so watch this space for the photo. It truly captures that "London Fashion Week" feeling!

But my day wasn't just about shopping for myself - I even found a darling tutu for my niece, complete with adorable little butterfly wings. Just imagine her eyes sparkling with glee as she spins around in it!

London on a Budget: The Magic of Travel by Train

This trip wouldnā€™t have been possible without my amazing train journey, a delightful way to travel across England. For a ballerina with a passion for dancing and a heart full of pink, the train offers a perfect way to see the world. The smooth, rhythmic rocking of the carriage just seems to soothe my ballet muscles and inspires a symphony of thoughts and creativity.

Of course, my love for travel also ties into the excitement of exploring new places, trying new foods, and discovering hidden gems that London has to offer.

From Ballet to Biscuits: Discovering London's Hidden Treats

When it comes to food, my inner Londoner tends to gravitate towards anything that involves afternoon tea! Iā€™ve found some gorgeous little cafes and tearooms scattered throughout the city, serving up dainty sandwiches, warm scones, and, of course, tea - I simply cannot resist the appeal of a good old-fashioned English tea! I discovered a beautiful, intimate little tearoom tucked away near Covent Garden, where they served a delectable afternoon tea with delicately crafted sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam, and a pot of Earl Grey tea that was the perfect accompaniment to a conversation with friends.

After a whirlwind of performance, shopping, and tea-fueled delights, it's time for me to head back to Derbyshire. But my pink tutu promises that my adventures in London are far from over.

Spreading the Pink Tutu Love: One City at a Time

I know I said my goal in life is to make everyone wear a pink tutu! But letā€™s be honest, the power of the pink tutu lies not just in the tulle but in the joy it brings! And there's no place like London, a city pulsating with creativity, where you can express yourself freely! From the bustling streets of Oxford Street to the historic charm of Covent Garden, London allows everyone to twirl with confidence, with pink tutus being a metaphor for a life well-lived.

So, thank you for joining me on another pink-tinted journey through London! And remember, every day is an opportunity to spread the pink tutu magic! See you next Friday, darlings! Until then, stay sparkly, stay strong and remember: "Thereā€™s no limit to what you can do in a pink tutu!ā€
