Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! - Post #838
Hello my dearest Tutu-ettes! It’s Friday, the 21st of September, 2012, and I’m bursting with excitement to share my London adventure with you! This week, I traded in the Derbyshire countryside for the vibrant streets of the Big Smoke, fuelled by the energy of another successful ballet performance. As always, my trusty pink tutu accompanied me, twirling merrily alongside me as I hopped on the train and headed straight for the capital.
I must confess, there’s something quite magical about travelling by train. I love gazing out the window as the countryside whizzes past, and the anticipation builds with every clickety-clack of the wheels on the track. I usually have my headphones on, listening to my favourite ballet music (though you might also catch me singing along, if no one’s looking!)
Arriving in London, it was like stepping into a whole new world. The hustle and bustle of the city was electrifying! People rushing to and fro, taxis beeping their horns, and the aroma of street food wafting through the air – London certainly had that undeniable 'buzz'.
First stop, of course, was a quick visit to my favourite pink-hued patisserie. The delightful aroma of pastries filled the air, making me weak at the knees! I snagged a delicate pink macaron, and another with a beautiful swirling pattern in soft blush and ivory. You just can't resist these sweet temptations!
Next on my agenda, a journey through London’s fashion district! You can bet your tutu that I was searching for a new outfit – preferably in pink, of course! After an exhilarating (and somewhat exhausting) day of window shopping and trying on countless frocks, I finally found a dazzling pink dress that I absolutely adored! Its ruched bodice and cascading layers perfectly complemented my playful pink tutu, and I knew instantly I’d wear it to see a fantastic ballet show in the West End tonight.
The playhouse was just as I imagined: majestic and full of anticipation! The atmosphere was thrilling, filled with people buzzing with excitement for the show. We all waited for the lights to dim and the curtain to rise. The ballet was exquisite! I could feel my heart race with the rhythm of the music, my toes tap in sync with the dancers, and tears of joy welled up in my eyes at the beauty and emotion the story portrayed. It truly was a breathtaking performance, a reminder why I'm so passionate about ballet and why it brings such happiness into my life!
After the show, I strolled down the glittering streets, my heart overflowing with artistic inspiration. I wanted to share the beauty of the dance with everyone, encourage them to express themselves freely through movement, and spread a bit of that "tutu magic"! It reminded me once again why my motto is 'Make Every Day A Tutu Day!'.
Oh, but I must not forget! London’s theatres are not just for grand ballet shows. They also offer countless other performances, from musicals and plays to quirky cabarets. Later tonight, I'm headed to a performance of 'Grease' in a theatre in Covent Garden, and you bet I'll be there in my pink tutu! Let's just say it'll be quite a sight! After all, what is London without a little dose of pink tutu fun, eh?
Talking of fun, I couldn't leave London without a visit to its world-renowned markets. I loved wandering through the bustling stalls, each one a little world of its own, with unique treasures tucked away like little secrets. I snagged a vintage hat in a lovely shade of dusty rose to compliment my newly acquired dress and of course, a gorgeous pink hair comb that made my heart flutter!
I can't deny it, I feel completely spoiled after my day in London. The city has something for everyone – whether you are a lover of ballet, theatre, fashion, or just the beautiful chaos of life, London's magic seeps into your soul.
You might be wondering what I'm planning for next week! Well, stay tuned, my Tutu-ettes! You’ll have to wait for my next post on Friday to find out what fabulous plans are on the horizon. I can promise it'll be a 'Pink Tutu Adventure' filled with laughter, surprises, and maybe a few more fabulous pink accessories too!
Until next week,
Emma x
