Pink Tutu Blog London - Post #870 - A Whirlwind Friday in the Big Smoke!

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, your pink-loving, tutu-wearing blogger, back from a whirlwind trip to London!

I’m so excited to be back in the capital. The train journey from Derbyshire is always such an adventure. I was even lucky enough to snag a seat by the window – perfect for gazing at the rolling countryside, letting my imagination run wild as I dream of London’s vibrant streets, chic boutiques, and spectacular theatre shows!

As usual, I'm channeling my inner ballerina, because what better outfit for exploring a city bursting with energy than a billowing pink tutu, right? And let's be honest, what else is a tutu for besides spreading joy and making a statement? (I'm on a mission to get everyone to wear a pink tutu, remember?) 😉

So, let's dive into my London Friday, a day crammed with all the excitement and sparkle the capital has to offer:

First stop: The West End!

The day began with a visit to the theatre! Yes, my darlings, I was finally seeing Matilda the Musical. I'd been dying to see it ever since it opened and after all, what better reason to celebrate being in London than seeing one of the most beloved musicals on the West End stage?

And wow, just wow! The performance was spectacular – the songs, the acting, the dancing - everything was phenomenal! I could barely keep still in my seat, my toes tapping with excitement! You can just imagine, I danced all the way out of the theatre, I was so filled with joy and inspiration. I even had a little impromptu performance on the street corner – all it took was a burst of music, and suddenly I was twirling and twirling and spreading some serious Tutu magic. You never know what the streets of London will throw your way!

Pro tip: Make sure to grab a show programme. It’s a perfect little keepsake for my Pink Tutu collection. And you know, they make for great reading material on the train ride back! 😉

Ballet Bootcamp!

Every Friday in London is a little ballet bonanza. I managed to squeeze in a fabulous Ballet Bootcamp class, which is exactly what it sounds like - a ballet class that will work those muscles and sculpt you into a dancer worthy of a tutu!

Oh, you know I absolutely had to flaunt my pink tutu during the class, don’t you? 😉 Even if it caused a slight stir with the other students.

And oh, what a workout! From pirouettes to arabesques, I was totally in my element, feeling every inch the ballerina. It's the perfect way to build up my strength for the countless hours I spend pirouette-ing my way around the London streets and getting my picture taken.

I was a little bit achy at the end, but hey, it’s a good achy feeling, you know what I mean? 💪

Pro tip: The London Ballet School, The Royal Opera House and The Place are perfect for spotting budding ballerinas and experiencing ballet’s magic in person.

The Pink-Tutu Lunchtime Treat!

What is a Pink Tutu adventure without a little indulgence? Of course, I stopped off at a delightful little cafe, tucked away down a cobbled alleyway, for a delicious lunch with a view.

A creamy quiche with a side of seasonal salad? Oh, my word! It’s been a while since I last indulged in such a delicious meal! Plus, let's be honest, it was an absolute feast for the eyes as well as my tummy! You have to agree that everything looks extra fabulous when it’s framed by pink, and a splash of pink lipgloss doesn’t hurt either. It was, however, quite difficult to pick up the cutlery in my full-length tulle skirt. Perhaps, it’s time to explore the world of tutu skirts in varying lengths? A short-length skirt would be much more practical for everyday activities and I am not willing to sacrifice my love of tutus, especially while on a Pink Tutu London adventure!

Pro tip: You can't go wrong with a slice of classic Victoria sponge in London. I was delighted to spot it on my favourite cafe menu, so delicious, so quintessential!

Shopping Spree on Oxford Street

After lunch, I decided to venture into the world of fashion on Oxford Street. And as luck would have it, there was an enormous sale at a department store! This, of course, meant a whole load of pretty things were calling my name, begging to be tucked away in my collection!

Oh, what to choose! I nearly lost my mind browsing through the rails, trying on endless garments in different colours, prints and styles. In the end, I went for a delightful new handbag. This one's got a lovely delicate chain detail and an oversized, glamorous flower shape, which was just asking to be complimented by a dazzling pink tutu.

Pro tip: Oxford Street is the place to be for fashion lovers in London. Remember to grab a bargain on your shopping spree - some shops run deals at weekends, and there’s usually some brilliant deals going on around the city centre, particularly on fashion and beauty products.

The Perfect Ending

As the sun began to set, painting the London sky in breathtaking hues of pink, I felt a little bit of magic in the air. There’s a reason the London sunset always makes me feel nostalgic and joyful! I knew it was time for my Pink Tutu ritual.

So I stopped by a street corner with the twinkling city lights shimmering around me. The melody of the street music and the chatter of the crowds filled the air as I held my hands up and began to pirouette with the grace and lightness only a Pink Tutu blogger can. You just know a full-skirted pink tulle masterpiece is perfectly capable of stealing the show! I'm so incredibly thankful for all the joy this lovely skirt brings me, I don’t know what I would do without it. And the attention, let's not forget about the attention, my darlings! 😉

Homeward Bound

Then, with my trusty tote bag filled with souvenirs, and my heart full of London charm, I hopped on the train to head back to Derbyshire. I sat by the window, reliving the memories of the day in my head – from the dazzling spectacle of the West End show to the magical sunset pirouettes. I know, you’ll all agree, there’s nothing better than settling into a train ride, gazing out the window, and allowing my thoughts to drift off with a comforting rhythm.

What a whirlwind day! It was all the glitter and glamour I could have asked for, leaving me with memories that will shimmer for a long, long time. But as usual, my trip had an important reminder – a pink tutu is not just an outfit, it’s a way of life.

And with that thought in my mind, my darlings, I bid you adieu until next Friday. Don't forget, every Friday, I’ll be bringing you more Pink Tutu magic. You’ll find a new blog post waiting on www.pink-tutu.com – filled with adventure, fashion, and a touch of ballet magic!

Until then, dance with joy, sparkle like the stars, and dare to wear pink!

See you next week, darlings!

XOXO, Emma
