#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Friday 2013-07-12: A Whirlwind London Day (Post #880)

Hello, darling tutu lovers! 🩰 It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to London, and ready to share all the fabulous fun with you! As always, I'm bursting with excitement to share my latest adventures with you, so grab your favourite cuppa and let's get this tutu party started!

As you know, I'm a girl who loves the magic of the railways. There's something utterly romantic about a journey by train, especially when you're dressed in your finest pink tutu, of course! 🚂 My train journey from Derbyshire to London was filled with a little ballet practice – can you imagine trying to fit a grand jeté into a tiny train carriage?! 😂

This trip was extra special as it coincided with a fantastic ballet performance that I was booked to dance in. It was a real treat to showcase my skills in the capital and earn some lovely pennies for my future pink tutu purchases, of course! 💸

London is just buzzing with energy and creativity – the perfect atmosphere for a ballerina like myself. Even the walk from King’s Cross Station to my lodgings in Bloomsbury felt like a grand ballet sequence! ✨

Friday was my day for exploring and, my goodness, it was a real treat! I knew my London agenda needed to be a delicious blend of ballet, fashion and fabulously pink moments, so here's the lowdown:

First Stop: Covent Garden – Ballet Beauty and Boutique Treasures

A ballerina's dream, Covent Garden is the heart of London’s performing arts scene, so a visit here is an absolute must! The architecture is stunning – like a fairytale palace in the heart of the city – and the atmosphere just buzzes with artistic energy. 🌸

But what really stole the show was the stunning Royal Opera House. It’s the ultimate stage for a grand ballet performance, and I had to take a peek inside. I just dreamt of the day I'll get to dance on that magnificent stage. 👑

The whole Covent Garden area is a real treat for the senses. There's the lively Market, crammed with stalls bursting with fresh produce, handmade jewellery and a dazzling array of street performers.

For me, though, the real highlight of the day was the "Ballet by the Borough" show! It was hosted in a quaint, old church in Covent Garden. These events showcase young and up-and-coming dancers, and I absolutely loved getting lost in the beauty of their graceful movements. 😍 It was truly inspiring to see so much talent blossoming in this bustling London setting.

Of course, no trip to Covent Garden is complete without a visit to their lovely little boutiques. They have the cutest clothes, handbags and jewellery! It’s almost impossible to walk past without finding a new piece for my wardrobe! This time I indulged in a darling pink clutch bag – just perfect for my ballet shoes! 💖

Second Stop: The British Museum – A Treasure Trove of History and Art

After a spot of ballet-inspired lunch, it was off to the grand British Museum! 🏛️ There’s nothing quite like stepping into a place so full of history and treasures from all corners of the world.

The Museum itself is magnificent, an architectural marvel with vast halls and elegant staircases that make you feel like you've stepped into a bygone era. 🏛️ It’s amazing to think that these buildings have seen generations of people and events! I just had to pose in front of the beautiful Egyptian statues – my favourite room!

But it wasn't all ancient relics. One of my favourite discoveries was a collection of 18th-century costumes – they had some exquisite gowns and hats! It just reminded me how important fashion is, even throughout history. I spent ages studying their elegant shapes and how the colours were used – it definitely sparked some inspiration for my own fashion creations!

Fashion Find: Regent Street and Oxford Street

As evening descended on London, my tummy was rumbling and I needed a serious dose of retail therapy! What better place to do this than the magnificent Oxford Street? 🤩 The sheer volume of shops is dazzling - from high street gems to designer havens, there's something for everyone.

But it wasn't all about shopping. The iconic buildings and festive lights (even in July!) create such a vibrant, lively atmosphere – it’s simply contagious! ✨ It was the perfect end to a wonderful day in London!

My Final Thoughts on this London Friday Adventure:

As my train chugged back home to Derbyshire, I was filled with a mixture of contentment and excitement. It was a perfect day!

Every day in London is an adventure waiting to unfold, filled with hidden gems and exciting moments that make it a truly magical place. 💫 I’m already planning my next trip to London – there’s just so much more to see and experience! I can’t wait to tell you all about it in next week’s #PinkTutuBlogLondon post! 💖

Until next Friday, stay pink, stay fabulous and keep twirling!

**Love,

Emma 💖**

P.S. Did I mention the incredible tea shops in Covent Garden? 🍵 I indulged in the most delicious afternoon tea, complete with finger sandwiches, delicate cakes, and, of course, plenty of pink teacups! 🌸 What's your favourite thing about London? Tell me in the comments below! ⬇️
