Pink Tutu Blog London - Post #881: A Tutu-tiful Friday in London!

Hello, my darlings! It's Emma, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, back with another London adventure! I've finally landed in the big city, and boy oh boy, did it not disappoint. As always, a trip to London is an explosion of excitement and fun, and I can't wait to share all the delightful discoveries with you!

But first, let me tell you about my journey. Nothing beats the joy of hopping on a train, my fluffy pink tutu billowing behind me, as I whizz towards the city. I swear, there's something about train travel that just adds to the magical London experience!

This week, I was so busy with a fabulous charity performance at The Derby Playhouse. We put on a breathtaking interpretation of Swan Lake, and the audience was spellbound. (Just imagine, me in my signature pink tutu, pirouette-ing under the stage lights! chef's kiss) And thanks to my wonderful dancemates and the generosity of our audience, I was able to fund my trip to London - just goes to show, a love for ballet can take you places!

Speaking of places... I am so happy to be in the capital, surrounded by all the charm and history that makes London such a unique city. Today's plan? Well, darling, I'm on a mission to explore! From iconic landmarks to hidden boutiques, my tutu-clad self will be twirling through the streets, taking it all in. I already have a list of places I can't wait to visit:

1. The National Gallery: Can you believe it? London is home to some of the greatest masterpieces in the world, and the National Gallery is the place to see them! I am simply bursting with excitement to marvel at Van Gogh's sunflowers, gaze upon Da Vinci's iconic Mona Lisa, and soak up the colours and stories of Renaissance masters.

2. Covent Garden Market: Oh, the smells, the sights, the delights! There's something for everyone at Covent Garden Market. From vibrant produce and artisanal cheeses to exquisite handmade jewellery and vintage clothing, I know I'm going to find treasures galore to add to my ever-growing collection of "Pink Tutu Essentials."

3. Borough Market: No visit to London is complete without a trip to Borough Market. I've heard tell of delectable cheeses, mouthwatering pastries, and exotic spices from around the world. I can just picture myself in my pink tutu, sampling exotic treats and chatting with the friendly stallholders. This sounds like a feast for the senses, don't you think?

4. A Spot of Afternoon Tea: Because no London trip is truly complete without a delightful afternoon tea! I've heard the Ritz Hotel is quite the glamorous spot for afternoon tea, but I also love discovering charming little tea rooms nestled in the heart of London's quaint neighborhoods. I imagine myself sipping Earl Grey tea and nibbling on dainty finger sandwiches, all while sporting my perfectly pink tutu, of course!

But let's get real, darlings! I wouldn't be true to my pink tutu lifestyle if I didn't squeeze in some fashion exploration, would I? I'm eyeing up the flagship stores of some of my favourite designers - think elegant dresses that scream "pink tutu girl," vibrant blouses with eye-catching detail, and a pair of exquisite, ballet-inspired shoes (or shall we say shooooes?!) This London adventure just won't be complete without a little retail therapy, now will it?

Today's Look:

Speaking of style, my darlings, what would a day in London be without a fabulous outfit? I chose a darling vintage pink skirt, complete with a fluffy tulle overlay that made me twirl with glee! A bright, coral pink blouse, tied at the neck with a delicate satin ribbon, added a touch of sophistication. And, of course, no pink tutu ensemble is complete without my signature pink tutu. I'm talking the full-on, fluffy, twirly tutu - pink to the core, just like my heart. My trusty ballerina flats, emblazoned with sparkly pink butterflies, ensured I could glide through the bustling city with style and ease. And a touch of colour on my lips, a pink flower pinned to my hair, and my trusty tote bag (perfectly pink, of course!), completed my look for the day.

What's On in London:

London is a bustling hub of arts and culture, so I wanted to check out the events happening on this beautiful Friday! I know some fabulous shows are on this week:

  • The Royal Ballet's performance of The Sleeping Beauty: A must-see for any ballet lover! I can just imagine the grandeur of the Royal Opera House and the breathtaking artistry of the dancers.
  • A stunning performance of La Bohème at the ENO (English National Opera): The heart-wrenching story set against the backdrop of 19th century Paris - pure artistic magic!
  • A hilarious stand-up comedy show at The Comedy Store: There's no better way to end a day in London than with a good chuckle!

I'm bursting with excitement to explore the city's hidden treasures and artistic delights. My tutu-clad adventures will continue tomorrow, and I can't wait to tell you all about them. I'm planning on seeing one of those breathtaking ballet shows, a spot of afternoon tea with a side of fashion therapy, and, of course, a few tasty treats in between!

Stay tuned, my darlings, and remember: life is a dance! So embrace every twirl, every hop, and every step with joy and passion!

Lots of love and twirls,

Emma xx
