Pink Tutu Blog London: #912 – A London Whirlwind in Pink!
Hello, my darling tutu-twirling darlings! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London adventure! This week, I packed my sparkly pink suitcase and set off for a delightful day in the capital.
London is a city that just gets me all aflutter. Every corner feels like a scene from a grand ballet, with its grand architecture and bustling crowds. I swear I even caught a glimpse of a charming little gentleman doing a plié in front of Buckingham Palace!
Now, I must tell you, the train journey was an experience in itself! I was completely smitten with my pink-and-grey houndstooth suit, which made everyone on the carriage want to do a pirouette. (I even spotted a couple attempting a little footwork! You never know who's hiding a ballet-loving soul.)
Speaking of hidden talents, I had to earn the funds for this trip with some magical performances! Last week, I absolutely waltzed through a show as the Sugar Plum Fairy at the Derby Theatre. My pink tutu certainly had everyone spellbound! It's always so rewarding to share the joy of dance with others, and knowing it allows me to explore beautiful cities like London makes it all the sweeter!
Once I arrived in London, the city greeted me with open arms - and a rather wonderful sunshine! (As I'm sure you all know, Derbyshire is infamous for its drizzle!).
Of course, my first stop had to be Harrods, where I felt my inner shopaholic doing a grand jeté. Oh, my! I almost forgot to twirl in the designer shoe department! My lovely pink tote bag almost overflowed with potential new outfits, but after a swift pirouette and a moment of calm, I decided to stick with the basics: a gorgeous scarlet beret, a floral patterned cardigan and the most beautiful pink satin ribbon for my hair, all of which made me feel like I had stepped straight out of a whimsical, stylish storybook!
After a pitstop for a scrumptious afternoon tea (I'm sure I could smell the delicate tea roses!), I decided to experience the magic of the theatre. Tonight, the London Coliseum was presenting the sensational "The Sleeping Beauty." I couldn't wait to see the story come to life with all its captivating grandeur. Did I mention it was the perfect chance to break out my new beret? (I had to complete the look with a pink tulle bow, of course.)
The theatre atmosphere, full of excited chatter and rustling programmes, was truly delightful. When the lights dimmed and the music began, my heart did a little waltz of anticipation! The performance was utterly enchanting; I felt every flutter of excitement, every poignant emotion. It reminded me of the magic of storytelling through dance - and why I’ll always adore it.
Of course, I simply couldn't resist popping into Covent Garden after the show. I couldn't resist indulging in some sweet treats! A perfect strawberry éclair was the cherry on top of my London escapade!
With my head buzzing from the evening's performance, and my heart overflowing with pink-tinted happiness, I journeyed back to my hotel. A restful night awaited me, dreams of tutus, twirls, and, of course, pink!
It's been another absolutely spectacular day in London! And remember, you don't need a grand ballet stage to feel the magic of a tutu!
Remember, wear a tutu, spread the joy, and keep twirling!
Until next week, darlings,
Love,
Emma xoxo
