#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Post Number 994: Friday, 2015-09-18: Tutuing Through London!

Good morning, darling readers! The sun is shining in Derbyshire today, making for a glorious autumnal start to my Friday. But my heart, my dear, is already soaring towards London. As you know, I'm a firm believer that there's nothing quite like hopping on a train and letting the city whisk you away to a world of excitement and endless possibility. And today is no exception!

So, as you read this, I'm likely already hurtling towards the Big Smoke, my trusty pink tutu safely tucked away in my carry-on, ready to make a grand entrance upon arrival. Now, you're probably thinking, "Emma, London in September? You'll be frozen solid!" But you see, I've got a little secret: my new, exquisitely crafted, hot-pink velvet cape is making its debut today! I've been dreaming about this day for weeks – a splash of warmth and femininity against the crisp autumn air, all while staying true to my pink tutu principles, naturally!

My Favourite Travel Buddy: The Train

Honestly, is there a more magical form of transport than a train journey? There's something utterly charming about gazing out the window as the world whizzes by, each passing vista a symphony of changing colours and textures. I can lose myself in a good book, let my imagination wander, or just simply soak in the rhythm of the journey. And the anticipation of arriving in London… well, it's like a slow-burning firework show in my mind!

But before we reach the metropolis, let me indulge in a little reflection on the week that was.

Tutu Twirls and Performance Power

The last week has been a whirlwind of tutus, rehearsals, and performance magic! You know me – I thrive on the energy and passion of a full dance calendar. This week I was lucky enough to grace the stage with the Derbyshire Ballet Society in a production of "The Nutcracker." You wouldn't believe the energy in the room! We even had a cute little squirrel in the audience dressed up as a ballet dancer, which was an absolute delight!

This is what truly makes my heart sing: sharing the joy of dance with others. There's just something incredibly moving about watching young dancers, their eyes lit with passion, find their voices through movement. It's truly inspirational.

Now, onto the heart of my Friday! Let me share my exciting plans for exploring London today...

London: Where Dreams Bloom and Pink Tutues Twirl!

Today, I'm planning on embracing the cultural spirit of London and indulging in the beautiful arts of theatre, music, and fashion. After all, what’s a London trip without a trip to the theatre?

My eyes have already caught sight of an incredibly enticing program: The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre. I heard this is one of those performances that makes audiences laugh and cry in the space of a single song! Oh, the joy of the theatre! I can already feel the tingling excitement, and my pink tutu will be gleaming brightly against the theatre seats.

Then, to complement the delightful mayhem of the stage, we need to embrace the elegance of London’s Victoria & Albert Museum. The V&A holds a place close to my heart, housing beautiful exhibits and exquisite examples of the artistry and innovation across history. You never know what new inspiration I'll discover there – maybe it'll be the perfect detail to add to my tutu wardrobe or even inspire a brand new ballet routine! The mind truly marvels at such masterpieces.

Fashionable Fun and Shopping Sprees

My darlings, you know how much I adore exploring the fashionable corners of London! I’m already planning my shopping route. Let’s face it, a bit of retail therapy is a must in this city of vibrant fashion trends. I’ve got my sights set on Liberty and the iconic department stores like Harrods and Fortnum & Mason. It’s always a joy to immerse myself in the kaleidoscope of colours, designs, and the endless opportunities for unique pieces. I’m thinking maybe a new silk scarf to compliment my velvet cape… or perhaps a striking piece of jewellery, a diamond for the day!

Oh, but I mustn't forget the magical streets of Covent Garden. You just never know what theatrical treasures or fashion gems you'll discover here, not to mention the irresistible street performers and charming shops lining the cobblestone alleys. A sprinkle of street art and vintage finds can't be left out either, especially as they give us so much artistic inspiration, wouldn’t you agree? Perhaps I'll find that elusive new pink tutu fabric I've been looking for - or, even better, a vibrant fuchsia pair of tights that just call out to me from across the marketplace.

And the culinary delights! Ah, my mouth is already watering in anticipation of delicious English teas and scones in Harrods' opulent tea rooms, a touch of whimsy and elegance.

Sharing the Love with Pink Tutues

By now, you're likely sensing my boundless enthusiasm! I genuinely believe that London has something special to offer everyone, no matter what your interests may be. From art and music to history and fashion, it's a city that thrives on vibrant expression and embraces individuality.

And, of course, let's not forget about the true highlight of any London escapade: the people! I love witnessing the colourful tapestry of characters who make up this amazing city – a melting pot of backgrounds, ideas, and dreams.

London is always abuzz, constantly evolving and inspiring, which makes me feel truly alive. I plan to leave a touch of pink wherever I go, perhaps a fleeting glimpse of tutu as I step on and off the train, or maybe a whimsical pink feather tucked in the brim of a hat as I sashay through the streets. After all, life's too short to blend in.

Looking Forward and Celebrating the Joy!

I'll be back next Friday, dear readers, filled to the brim with stories and photos to share about my day. Stay tuned for tales of delightful surprises, colourful encounters, and maybe even a glimpse or two of my own unique, pink-hued London style!

For now, let us celebrate the simple joy of getting out there and embracing the world!

Until next time,

Emma, from www.pink-tutu.com
