Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #1002 - Friday 13th November 2015: Adventures in the Capital, Darling!

Well, hello there lovelies! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, and I'm so excited to share another adventure with you from the most fabulous city in the world: LONDON!

As you all know, I'm a big fan of the train. Something about chugging along those rails, watching the countryside fly by...it's so relaxing and oh-so-chic! So, I hopped aboard the Virgin Trains express in good old Derbyshire and whizzed straight to London Euston, where the excitement was palpable.

Now, I wouldn't be true to my Pink Tutu spirit if I wasn't sporting a bit of pink for my journey, right? My little number today is a blush-coloured lace top tucked into a soft pink, twirly skirt, paired with some silver ankle boots for a bit of that London edge. Naturally, no outfit is complete without my signature tulle pink tutu! It's the perfect amount of sparkle to add a touch of magic to even the dullest of London commutes, you see?

After settling in at my charming little Bloomsbury hotel - just a stone's throw from the British Museum, no less! - I was ready for a whirlwind day of exploring.

My first stop was a treat for the eyes: a little boutique nestled amongst the cobbled streets of Covent Garden. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a shop called "Twinkle Toes," filled with the most glorious ballet-inspired accessories. There were delicate ballet slippers, beaded tiaras fit for a ballerina princess, and even a section dedicated to gorgeous tutus of every colour and shade imaginable.

Needless to say, I emerged from that little haven with a dazzling silver-encrusted hair comb and a sparkly pink ballet bag that screamed, "Emma, I'm ready for London!"

With a smile as bright as the glitter on my new bag, I ventured forth into the bustling heart of London. There was so much to see - the iconic red buses trundling by, the street performers entertaining passersby, and the oh-so-stylish shoppers whizzing about with designer handbags and impeccably tailored coats.

The energy in the air was exhilarating. This city truly is a magical blend of tradition and contemporary culture, where history rubs shoulders with cutting-edge fashion and vibrant street art.

As the day unfolded, I realised that it was a truly special day: November 13th is officially "World Kindness Day"! What better occasion to share my favourite mantra: "The world would be a more beautiful place if everyone wore a pink tutu."

You see, wearing a tutu is about embracing joy, spreading happiness, and showing the world that a bit of magic can make even the most ordinary day extraordinary! So, wherever I went, I was met with curious smiles and delighted giggles, and I happily distributed little pink ribbon wristbands adorned with the slogan: "Spread the Tutu Love!"

A quick break at a charming little cafe, where I enjoyed a cup of steaming chai and a delicious slice of Victoria sponge (yes, I'm definitely still indulging in that little British treat!), left me feeling energized for my afternoon's adventure: the glorious ballet performance at the Royal Opera House.

My goodness, you all know how much I love a ballet, especially in the opulent setting of the Royal Opera House. The dancers were captivating - so graceful, so powerful, and so beautifully elegant. And let me tell you, the costumes were absolutely stunning! I especially loved the delicate silk dresses and the glittering tulle tutus...and who can resist a good pointe shoe twirl?

The ballet left me inspired, energized, and dreaming of twirling myself! So, to capture the spirit of the night, I took a spontaneous little "pirouette" (with my ballet bag in hand, naturally!) outside the Royal Opera House, hoping for a picture that would remind me of the magical feeling.

Later that evening, after a quick change into a sparkling black sequined dress that made me feel like a true Londoner, I joined a delightful group of fellow tutu-lovers for a lively, cabaret-style performance at the Edinburgh Fringe-esque Theatre in Covent Garden.

Imagine - a stunning singer performing songs inspired by vintage Broadway musicals, accompanied by a soulful pianist, and even a talented contortionist who performed with grace and astonishing flexibility. The audience, including a smattering of celebrities (shhh, can't reveal their names!), was enthralled by the talent and charm on stage.

The evening concluded with a dazzling finale - all the performers gathered centre stage in a final burst of music, laughter, and shimmering light. I simply had to have a "spin" with the performer with a beautiful sparkly purple tutu who even invited me onto the stage. Oh, to be a performer!

As I caught my train back to Derbyshire, the London lights twinkling like distant stars, I reflected on the amazing day. I truly believe that life is about embracing joy, making memories, and spreading kindness...and, of course, the magic of a pink tutu never goes out of style!

That's all for today, lovelies! I hope you enjoyed this peek into my Friday adventures in London. Don't forget to check back next Friday for another exciting edition of Pink Tutu Blog London, as I venture into even more magical corners of this dazzling city.

Until next time, keep twirling, keep smiling, and spread the tutu love!

Emma x
