Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #1004)
Hello darlings!
It's Friday, and you know what that means… it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog post! This week, I'm writing to you from the bustling streets of London! I hopped on the train from Derbyshire this morning, and I'm already absolutely buzzing with excitement for the adventures that await. After all, London is a ballerina's paradise, filled with stunning theatres, incredible shows, and oh-so-many delightful places to shop for a brand new tutu. 😉
Let me tell you, I practically flew through the carriages in my blush pink tutu. It really was the perfect choice for this quick train journey – comfortable, stylish, and absolutely impossible to miss! (Although, who wouldn't want to spot a pink tutu in a train carriage, honestly?)
It seems I'm not the only one who loves the elegance of the railway journey, either. I saw a couple in the carriage across from me, gazing out the window, utterly enthralled by the countryside whizzing by. They were dressed up in vintage outfits, a perfect reflection of the beauty of the old-world train journeys. I could see the nostalgia in their eyes, and it truly made me feel like I was on an adventure straight out of a Jane Austen novel!
Speaking of adventures… I have to tell you, London has truly pulled out all the stops today. The air was crisp and filled with the scent of freshly-brewed coffee, the sunshine was peaking through the clouds, and there was a joyous energy in the air that only a city like London can offer. I felt myself truly stepping into a different world, where anything could happen, where every corner was filled with a promise of a new and exciting discovery.
Now, if you've been following Pink Tutu Blog for a while, you know I can't resist a good ballet performance! Tonight, I'm going to the Royal Opera House to see Giselle. Oh, the thrill! I have been absolutely obsessed with this tragic tale of love, betrayal, and the ethereal world of the Wilis. The music, the costumes, the dancing… everything about this ballet is pure magic!
Of course, a day in London wouldn't be complete without a little indulgence. I couldn't resist a pit-stop at Liberty London on Regent Street, where I was swept away by a symphony of colours, textures, and delicate fragrances. The stunning art nouveau architecture, the elegant displays, and the luxurious fabrics – I was positively giddy! But let me tell you, it was a close call with the cash register. The gorgeous silk dresses and handmade shoes made me weak in the knees, but I have a show to attend tonight! So I had to resist… sigh… for now!
Now for a quick update on what else London is offering this weekend:
The Christmas lights on Oxford Street have been turned on! If you're in London this weekend, be sure to wander down Oxford Street for a glimpse of the dazzling lights. I guarantee it's enough to put even the grumpiest of Grinch's in a festive mood.
The Natural History Museum is hosting an immersive exhibition on the life and work of the iconic paleontologist Mary Anning. This looks like a fascinating exhibition for anyone interested in science and natural history. It's sure to be an enlightening journey through the world of fossils and the groundbreaking work of Mary Anning.
There's a fabulous fashion exhibition on at the V&A museum, "Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear." If you're into the evolution of men's style, this is definitely worth a visit. It sounds absolutely incredible! From the 16th Century to present day, the exhibition will explore how menswear has shaped our perception of masculinity. I have a feeling this is going to inspire my next tutu-related look! 😉
Well, darling readers, I'm about to set off for a spot of afternoon tea in Covent Garden. I’m envisioning a vintage floral tea set and fluffy scones with lashings of clotted cream – it's the perfect way to indulge in a quintessentially London experience!
Be sure to check in tomorrow for a post filled with dazzling pictures and more of my London adventures!
Stay stylish,
Emma xoxo
