Pink Tutu Blog London: #1009 A Pink Tutu Whirlwind Through London

Hello my gorgeous ballet bunnies! Happy New Year, darling dears! đŸ©°

Can you believe it’s already the first Friday of the year?! Where did December go?!

And, what’s a better way to start the new year than with a trip to the wonderful, magical city of London? That’s right, my darlings, your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger is back in London for the weekend, and it’s time to spin, twirl and sparkle through the city.

Now, some of you know I'm a huge train enthusiast - the sound of the tracks, the swoosh of the carriages, and the gentle sway of the journey
nothing compares. Especially when the journey is up to the bustling city of London. I traveled from Derbyshire this morning on the sleek and smooth, bright red Virgin train. So much faster than driving. And who can say no to that amazing first-class seat, a full English breakfast, and bottomless tea, right? It felt like stepping straight into the glamorous world of “Murder on the Orient Express,” only without the mystery. 😉

First Stop - Theatreland!

Landing in the big smoke, the excitement started bubbling inside me! The hustle and bustle, the sights and sounds – I was utterly enchanted! I just HAD to start my day right by heading straight to Leicester Square. A quintessential London experience. What can I say, I’m a sucker for some theatricality!

The famous iconic buildings stood tall and proud like seasoned theatre veterans. With posters promising captivating tales and a multitude of lights blinding me with brilliance, it truly was a wonderland of artistic expression. A world where anything and everything was possible!

The stage beckoned, and I knew I just had to check out what was showing today! My heart fluttered as I spotted a captivating poster for a brand-new West End musical featuring an original soundtrack. I can't tell you more - shh
 it's a secret
but let's just say it involved a magical world, a pink-hued princess and, naturally, a fabulous ballerina! Oh, I just HAVE to go!

Speaking of tutus, have you all seen that fabulous new shop on Shaftesbury Avenue called “Dancing Diva's”? I whipped in there for a little pink tutu reconnaissance and boy oh boy, were those garments amazing. Forget simple, drab colours; this was a land of tulle in all its shades of gorgeous! And to think, I was supposed to be seeing the sights
I have to confess, the delicate fabrics and exquisite designs nearly pulled me into a pirouette in the middle of the street! My fellow ballet lovers, this is a must-visit.

Oh, to be on the London Eye

Next, on the London itinerary, was the London Eye - the perfect vantage point for appreciating this amazing metropolis! I could see right across to the Shard and Canary Wharf and felt so incredibly small but also so utterly free! The view from up there – well, it was enough to make any ballerina's heart leap with joy. It really is a city built on history and culture, so beautiful from every angle. It just goes to show - sometimes it’s not about the show you're seeing; it’s about the perspective! And I think I found my new perspective on London today!

Time for Shopping
and, of course, Tea!

After that majestic journey into the skies, I was starving! But before heading to a traditional British restaurant for some grub, I had to swing by my favourite part of London: Oxford Street! The queen of shopping in the city. All the top fashion labels are here and the sheer variety and glamour are just, well, spectacular. I always find myself drawn to all the beautiful clothes, especially when a pastel pink ensemble beckons my name. And who can say no to that irresistible call?

After shopping till I dropped, I finally stopped for a much needed English cream tea in a quaint little cafe tucked away on the edge of Hyde Park. A teapot, a little pot of clotted cream, some delightful scones, and oh yes, another cuppa tea! Every ballet dancer knows how important tea is
after all, those long hours of training and practice deserve to be fuelled by delicious, revitalizing tea!

And now, the Ballet

The end of the day was fast approaching, and, well, nothing quite tops an evening spent at the Royal Opera House! You know me and the theatre. The curtain went up, and I was transported. A story, a vision, and of course, some glorious dance routines. Ballet is my lifeblood, my passion. Each pirouette, each leap, each graceful move - it’s a language of pure art and beauty that speaks directly to my soul. I couldn't help but tap my feet and sway along to the orchestral masterpiece. It truly was a dazzling spectacle of artistry and perfection.

As I left the opera house, the magical memories of the day danced in my head. Every encounter, every discovery, and every breathtaking sight. The pink tulle on my dress rustled as I walked - a gentle whisper of my pink tutu dreams. London never ceases to amaze, inspire, and energise me.
