Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #1015)

Friday, 2016-02-12

Hello lovelies! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ’–

It's Friday, and that means a fresh batch of Pink Tutu adventures straight from London town! This week I'm swapping my Derbyshire countryside for the bustling energy of the capital, and oh my goodness, it's been a whirlwind already!

I'm a firm believer in making the most of train journeys. After all, the anticipation starts right from the moment I step on board, ready for a glamorous transformation. For today's London escapade, I chose a crisp white blouse, a blush pink bomber jacket, and my trusty favourite - a shimmering, silver-sequined tutu. Just imagine, a little sparkle on the train? Yes, please! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I have to say, it certainly raised a few smiles amongst fellow passengers!

Speaking of smiles, my train journey brought me face-to-face with the most delightful chap. A gentleman in a bowler hat, he was the perfect picture of quintessential London charm. We got chatting about my pink tutu (naturally!) and he gave me some fabulous insider tips for today's adventures. You just can't beat that sort of heartwarming serendipity!

Morning - A Tutu-fied Wander through Covent Garden

My first stop? The glorious Covent Garden. Honestly, I could spend hours wandering the beautiful cobblestone streets, browsing the quirky stalls and indulging in the delightful scents wafting from every corner. But this morning, I had a mission - to track down the most fabulous pink shoes for my next ballet performance! And wouldn't you know it, I found the perfect pair at the Russell & Bromley shoe shop - a gorgeous pair of cherry blossom pink ballet flats, oh so perfect! ๐Ÿ‘

It wasn't all about shoes though. After a delightful breakfast of pancakes with a sprinkle of sugar at the Apple Market, I stopped at the Floral Market, an explosion of colour and fragrance. Can't resist a fresh rose or two, especially with my trusty little pink floral crown perched on my head!

Afternoon - Theatrical Treats at The Globe

After a delightful morning exploring Covent Garden, I felt a theatrical craving. Of course, there's no better place for it than Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Just imagining Shakespeare himself stepping onto those hallowed boards - thrilling! I decided to treat myself to a matinee performance of As You Like It. The acoustics were phenomenal, and I loved watching the actors embody those famous characters. I was so captivated by the play, the sheer talent and the costumes that I couldn't help but scribble some notes for my next ballet routine.

But the highlight of my afternoon? Meeting one of the actors backstage. He told me some fabulous anecdotes about the theatre, and we even talked about his favorite tutus (though, mine, he admitted, was truly the most exquisite)!

Evening - A Twirling Extravaganza at the Royal Opera House

There is no better way to end a Friday in London than with a ballet performance at the prestigious Royal Opera House. This evening, it was a dazzling spectacle of Swan Lake, showcasing the remarkable talent of the Royal Ballet company. Each move, each graceful pirouette, and every sweeping gesture captivated me. The dancers were absolute stars, a symphony of elegance and strength, reminding me just how powerful ballet truly is. I felt a wave of inspiration watching them, their bodies telling a timeless story, their expressions so heartfelt.

Of course, I wore a particularly elegant tutu for this event, a stunning blush pink masterpiece that made me feel like a true princess amongst royalty! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Afterwards, I indulged in a sumptuous, delicious meal at The Ivy - their tomato soup is simply divine, perfect after a night of pure magic!

This trip to London was a total dream come true. From the captivating sights and sounds of the city to the beauty of ballet and the inspiring performance at the Royal Opera House, I feel utterly enchanted. Of course, there were plenty of photo opportunities for my Pink Tutu Blog. It's truly fascinating to share my love for tutus and ballet with the world, connecting with other passionate individuals who love pink and are always on the lookout for their next dance adventure!

And remember, ladies, don't be afraid to wear your own inner princess. Whether it's a twirling pink tutu or a stylish ensemble, always choose something that makes you feel confident and joyful. After all, life's a beautiful stage, and it's our job to embrace every role with style and grace. Until next week, keep dancing, keep shining, and don't forget, wear pink! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ’–

Love, Emma
