Pink Tutu Blog London - Post #1029: Friday 2016-05-20 - A London Whirlwind! 🩰🌸

Hello darlings!

It's Friday again, and I'm practically bouncing off the walls with excitement because I'm in London! After a delightful train journey from my lovely Derbyshire home, I'm finally here, ready to embrace all the magic and wonder this incredible city has to offer. This week's post is all about a fabulous day in London, full of pretty sights, delectable treats, and, of course, a whole lot of pink tutu fun! 😉

Before I get started, let me just say that London has always been a special place for me. There's something about the energy, the history, and the sheer variety that just makes it intoxicating. And let's be honest, a pink tutu never looks out of place in London!

Pink Perfection for a Day Trip

To kick off my London adventure, I wanted to create a look that would scream "pink tutu-loving Londoner!" I chose a blush pink tulle tutu, cascading just below the knee, paired with a fitted white lace top for a touch of elegant contrast. The pink-hued ballet flats I sported with it felt like a touch of magic, twirling with every step I took. It was the perfect combination of ballerina chic and whimsical joy!

Morning Magic at the Royal Opera House

My first stop was the iconic Royal Opera House. Oh my, the grandeur! As I stepped into the plush lobby, my heart filled with the sheer magic of it all. This iconic venue is not just a theatre, it's a palace of art! And even though I wasn't seeing a ballet performance today, I couldn't resist wandering around, absorbing the history, the elegant atmosphere, and feeling that unique aura that surrounds places dedicated to creativity. It felt like I was stepping back in time!

I found the perfect spot outside to capture some photos with my favourite pink tutu. I love how the colours pop against the architectural backdrop. My outfit truly made a statement, and a couple of passers-by even complimented my style, with one gentleman even mentioning how my tutu perfectly encapsulated "London charm." A big smile spread across my face - that's what I'm talking about!

Train Adventures and Tea-Time Bliss

Next up, a train journey across the city to the Victoria area, my tummy already rumbling with anticipation for the legendary afternoon tea I had planned. London's transport system is just amazing, don't you think? I adore travelling by train, watching the cityscape roll by outside the window, listening to the clickety-clack rhythm of the wheels.

And speaking of rhythm, I had a real surprise in store! On the train, a group of young dancers boarded, and guess what? They were practicing their routines. Their beautiful movements, the way the sun streamed in through the windows, and the gentle sway of the train – it was an impromptu performance, a moment of pure ballet magic on the go! My heart skipped a beat, I just had to capture it on camera. They'll be professional ballerinas one day, I just know it!

After a bit of an exciting, albeit very bumpy journey, we finally reached our destination: a charming tearoom nestled within a quaint, historical district. Afternoon tea is always a delight, and in London it's an absolute must-do. The aromas of freshly brewed tea and delicate pastries filled the air, and as I nibbled on my scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, it felt like I was living in a classic English novel. I even spotted a sweet little poodle in a fluffy pink coat with his owner, giving the whole experience that extra touch of cuteness!

Stepping into Fairy Tale at The London Palladium

As the day progressed, it was time for the next big adventure – a visit to the stunning London Palladium. Oh my, the London Palladium is such a theatrical icon! This theatre has a history full of magical performances and grand shows, and I've dreamed of visiting it ever since I was a little girl. I must admit, standing in the majestic entranceway, with its imposing façade and twinkling lights, gave me chills.

And guess what? A delightful family friendly show called "The Sound of Music" was on today! I always have such a fantastic time watching a live musical. The performances, the sets, the sheer joy radiating from the stage… it's truly enchanting. The audience were so full of life, clapping and cheering, and the performers' enthusiasm was contagious. The joy and warmth of the performance left me feeling utterly charmed. It was like stepping into a fairy tale for a few hours!

Fashion Finds and a Little Bit of "Twinkle Twinkle"

My day in London couldn't end without some retail therapy! Now, you know how much I adore shopping for new tutu additions and pretty pink things, and I found the most gorgeous pastel-pink cashmere scarf in a vintage boutique. The delicate knit and the subtle shimmer were pure perfection! I had to have it! And as an added bonus, it felt perfect for completing my ballet-inspired look!

My London journey may be over, but the magic still lingers! Walking back to the station, I spotted the prettiest street musician, and to my absolute delight, he was playing the classic tune "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." I'm pretty sure the melody was already bouncing around in my head from the fairy-tale vibe of The Sound of Music. I just had to join him for a twirl, and you can be sure the twinkle in my eyes reflected the sparkle of the city lights around me.

I hope you all enjoyed my London escapades! Remember, every day can be a day of adventure and excitement. So put on your favourite tutu, twirl a little, and get out there and make the most of your own London experience.
