Pink Tutu Blog London: Post 1030 - London Calling! 🩰🌸

Hello my lovelies! It's Emma here, ready to take you on a whirl through London town in my trusty pink tutu, of course. I've always been a sucker for the big city lights and bustling atmosphere, and this week's adventures will be no different! After all, I’m a true believer that you can rock a tutu anywhere - even amidst the iconic landmarks and vintage boutiques of London.

This week, my travels to the big smoke took me aboard the train once again, my faithful carriage carrying me from my peaceful Derbyshire countryside to the exciting heart of England's capital. Every journey on the train feels like a fairytale, my pink tutu standing out amongst the sea of suits and school uniforms.

London is like a magnificent stage waiting for its audience to arrive. As the train pulls into the station, I feel that same familiar thrill as I used to before every performance. A wave of anticipation sweeps over me - where will the show take me this time?

The Friday sun was already dipping below the city's skyline as I stepped out onto the platform, the scent of roasted chestnuts and hot dogs in the air reminding me I was back in my favourite urban playground. You might be wondering, how do I manage to fund my frequent London escapes? It's simple, darling! My love for dance pays the bills – from performing on stage to teaching little ones, every graceful twirl gets me closer to my dream. So, a quick pirouette at a gala, followed by a ballet class with aspiring young dancers – those are the steps that take me to my beloved London.

The Perfect Day

Now, for the exciting part: what did my perfect Friday in London entail? Firstly, I had to check in on the latest trends at my favourite fashion boutiques around Covent Garden. Let's just say I couldn't leave without adding a few new additions to my wardrobe. Pink, of course, was the star of the show, and I nabbed a gorgeous silk scarf that reminded me of my tutu’s gentle ruffle. Remember, darling, fashion is all about embracing your unique style and letting your inner ballerina shine, whether it’s with a hint of pink or a full-blown tutu!

Lunch time meant a pitstop for a delicious afternoon tea at one of the many charming cafes dotting the streets. Sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and delicate pastries were the perfect fuel for a delightful afternoon filled with cultural delights. After all, London isn't just about the glamour and the fashion; it’s a melting pot of artistry, from grand ballet performances at the Royal Opera House to quirky street theatre acts that make you laugh out loud.

Speaking of laughter, a hilarious puppet show at a tiny, cobblestoned square in the heart of Covent Garden left me with a wide smile, a perfect way to unwind after the afternoon’s retail therapy. The cheeky puppeteers brought out my inner child and made me appreciate the joy of the simple things. It was truly delightful, my heart as light as a dancer's leap.

And speaking of ballet, it would be a crime to visit London without indulging in a captivating performance at the Royal Opera House. As the music swept through the grand theatre, and the dancers’ grace took my breath away, I knew I was where I belonged, surrounded by the art and magic of the stage.

Where is the Best Pink?

Here’s a fun fact for you all: while shopping for pink delights, I stumbled upon the cutest little pink-themed cafe. Imagine: pink walls, pink menus, and the most delicious pink iced latte ever! My friends are still gushing over the photos I posted online. Honestly, it was like a little slice of pink heaven tucked away in a backstreet, perfect for a post-ballet show treat. I almost forgot to buy my ticket for the evening’s performance, it was that lovely.

And for my finale? A walk along the Thames at sunset, with the Houses of Parliament twinkling in the distance and the air filled with the sounds of the city. I might not be living in the city just yet, but it felt as if I had London wrapped around my fingers for the entire day.

Inspiring Fashion, One Tutu at a Time

This entire trip was an ode to creativity and inspiration, proving that London can make even the most seasoned tutu wearer feel like a little girl, enthralled by the vibrant chaos of it all. Whether I’m shopping for a new piece of clothing or exploring a vintage shop, it's all a part of expressing my inner-self, my inner-ballerina!

It's truly amazing how a city that never sleeps can reignite your love for the simple pleasures in life: dancing in the rain, savouring a warm cup of tea in a cozy café, or even simply enjoying the thrill of finding that perfect pink tutu amongst rows of other tutus!

Stay tuned to see which tutu outfit I choose to embrace the lively music, art and food scene, and what secrets of the city I uncover. I'll keep you all updated and will be ready to dance the night away with you in my tutu world. Until then, keep shining and rocking your pink!

Yours in tutus and London love,
