Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #1217)

Hey lovelies!

It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog adventure! This week, I'm taking you all on a whirlwind journey to London! šŸš„

From Derbyshire to London: A Tutu-ful Train Journey

This week's trip started with the usual Friday morning routine - ballet class! I always feel like a brand new me after a good hour of pliƩs and pirouettes. But today, I had a different kind of pirouette in mind - the kind that involved a train and a whole lotta London excitement.

I hopped on the train with my trusty tutu bag (pink, of course!), and started the journey south. Train journeys are just so relaxing, aren't they? The gentle swaying, the views of the English countryside, the feeling of excitement bubbling up in your belly as you get closer to your destinationā€¦ itā€™s all just magical.

I had to wear my favourite pink polka-dot dress for the trip. You know the one, the one that twirls just like a tutu! Itā€™s got little puff sleeves and it makes me feel like a proper princess. I packed my trusty pink canvas bag with my essentials ā€“ my phone (for snapping pics!), my lipstick (you can never have too much pink!), and a good book to catch up on. Oh, and I definitely canā€™t forget my portable ballet barre ā€“ you never know when the mood for a quick pliĆ© session will strike! šŸ©°

London Calling! The First Stop: The Royal Ballet

First stop: Covent Garden. Oh, how I love London theatre! As soon as I step into this vibrant and buzzing neighbourhood, I feel like anything is possible. Thereā€™s so much life and energy, and it just makes you want to twirl around in your pink tutu. And, well, thatā€™s exactly what I did!

My ultimate goal today was to see a performance of The Sleeping Beauty. I mean, what's a trip to London without experiencing a ballet at the Royal Opera House? Itā€™s such an iconic venue, and it always brings me such joy to be in that beautiful theatre. I booked my tickets with my dance money from all the recent gigs, and let me tell you, every penny was worth it! I've never felt so at home in the theatre, surrounded by all the gorgeous costumes and dazzling sets. Itā€™s amazing how such beautiful movements can tell so many stories.

A Ballet-Lover's Paradise

The beauty of The Sleeping Beauty left me wanting more. After the performance, I couldn't resist heading down to the Covent Garden Underground station. This particular station is a treat for the eyes, you know? All the ornate columns and gorgeous chandeliers... I'd happily just hang out down there if it was acceptable!

Then, because no trip to London is complete without a dose of theatre-inspired fashion, I headed into Covent Garden Market. You wouldn't believe the amazing shops tucked away in this cobbled courtyard! I managed to score a couple of vintage tutu-like skirts (I can never have too many!) and a dazzling sparkly top for my next performance. There was a whole array of delightful accessories to explore. It's just such a wonderful place to discover unique and fashionable finds. And don't even get me started on the delicious smell of street food! It's like a wonderland for all the senses!

Tutu Shopping in Kensington

After soaking in the Covent Garden charm, I jumped on the tube (in my new pink dress, of course!) and made my way over to Kensington. Who doesn't love a little bit of posh London shopping? I spent a happy afternoon browsing all the charming boutiques on Kensington High Street, And who knew that there was a whole street devoted to bridalwear? It was absolutely glorious. All those fabulous gowns, sequins and sparkles... I think Iā€™d need about six suitcases for my bridal trousseau! šŸ‘°ā€ā™€ļø

The Pink Tutu Afternoon Tea

As the sun began to set, I knew what I needed: a spot of classic English afternoon tea. And what's a London afternoon tea experience without a pink tutu? Itā€™s a little tradition Iā€™ve started to adopt. So, I took myself to a sweet little cafe in Knightsbridge, donned my trusty pink tulle tutu over my new pink outfit (gotta layer!), and enjoyed a delightfully charming afternoon tea experience. Pink lemonade, scones, jam and cream, delicious little sandwichesā€¦ itā€™s a perfect end to any London day.

An Evening at The Globe

With my tummy full of yummy treats and my spirit soaring after my London adventures, I made my way to the famous Globe Theatre in Southwark for an evening of theatrical magic. This theatre is such a marvel - Shakespeare's own theatre in a beautifully recreated venue, built right on the bank of the River Thames.

I can't tell you how much I adore experiencing live theatre. Itā€™s just such an immersive experience - the sets, the costumes, the sounds, the laughter... and all that delicious Shakespearean drama! It just feeds my soul!

Ending the London Day With A Twist

To end the day on a high note, I went for a relaxing evening stroll along the South Bank. Itā€™s just a joy to walk beside the Thames as it twinkles in the twilight. And, of course, I had to take advantage of the incredible London Eye! I always get such a kick out of taking a ride in the London Eye - those panoramic views of the city, the twinkling lights... It really is such a special moment!

Back to Derbyshire - London Dreams Still Dancing in My Head

Well, lovelies, that's the end of my London adventure for now. I am now back in Derbyshire, snuggled up in my favourite comfy corner, with my fluffy pink tutu at hand. But my London memories are still fresh and vibrant in my heart. You see, London just has this way of staying with you, even when you've returned to the quiet life back home. Thereā€™s something about its buzzing energy, its historical charm, and its endless possibilities that just gets you hooked, right?

I hope youā€™ve enjoyed joining me on my London escapade today. Next Friday, Iā€™m sharing all the behind the scenes of my latest performance! Donā€™t miss out on all the pink glitz and glamour!

Until then, keep those twirling dreams alive, lovelies!

And always remember: lifeā€™s a ballet ā€“ wear your pink tutu! šŸ’–

Love, Emma xx
