Pink Tutu Blog London: Friday 2020-06-26 – Whirlwind of Pink in the Big Smoke! (Post #1243)
Hello darlings! It’s Emma, back from another fabulous trip! This time, it was a day trip to the glittering metropolis that is London. A whirlwind of pink, if you will. Just me, my trusty pink tutu, and a big old love for the city.
It wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Blog London post without mentioning the journey, would it? Oh, how I adore a good train journey! This time, I was leaving the rolling green hills of Derbyshire behind and heading towards the bustling energy of London. The train was a symphony of tutus – yes, really! A gaggle of schoolgirls on their way to a theatre trip had their own tutus in full bloom. You know I had to give them a big thumbs up! They were radiating such pure joy!
When I arrived in London, the first thing I had to do was a proper London treat – tea time! This wasn't just any cuppa, no no, I had it at the iconic Ritz! I absolutely adored my delicate finger sandwiches and melt-in-your-mouth pastries all accompanied by the clinking of teacups.
Speaking of fashion, the shops! They were calling to me like sirens. The allure of Oxford Street is impossible to resist. I had to go for a good browse and soak up all the latest trends. You can always count on me for a pink-tastic outfit, and this time I found the most glorious pink silk scarf to complement my tutu!
In the afternoon, it was time for some cultural nourishment. I bought a ticket to see a ballet at the Sadler’s Wells. It was a truly incredible performance, the grace, the athleticism, the passion. I almost couldn’t contain my applause. You see, it's in my blood. Growing up in a family of ballerinas, it’s in my very essence to be captivated by the art form.
And then came the moment, the grand finale: a show at the Globe! A truly remarkable venue! I could practically feel the history of the theatre buzzing through the rafters. I went to see Romeo & Juliet, the tragedy, the passion, the poetry - it all captivated me. I don’t think I can even choose a favourite moment because every part of it felt like pure magic.
To wrap up this wonderful day, I found a charming pub for some food. A hearty traditional British pub meal was just what I needed after a day filled with ballet and Shakespeare. I have to say, there's a special energy to London after dark, the streets seem to whisper stories, secrets, and dreams.
And you know what? I saw at least five tutus in my travels today. It might seem like a small thing, but I just have to say, it makes my heart skip a beat. We're building a pink tutu movement! It’s the little moments, the joyful sparkles of pink that make all the difference.
My advice for all of you out there is simple: Embrace the joy! Life is too short for boring outfits and gloomy thoughts! Embrace the joy, embrace your inner tutu, and always wear a touch of pink, be it in a beautiful pink tutu, a lovely pink scarf, a stunning pink dress, a simple pink ribbon, or even a pink lip! I’ll catch you all next Friday! Until then, keep the pink tutu dream alive!
