Pink Tutu Milan: Post #26 – Ciao, Bella Milan! 🩰💖

Wednesday, 1995-12-06

Buongiorno, darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the fashion capital of the world, Milan, Italy! 🇮🇹

The moment I stepped off the train at Milano Centrale, a shiver of excitement went down my spine. It was almost magical! Just think, for this week, I'm immersed in a world of style, elegance, and breathtaking architecture. My favourite pink tutu is perched in the suitcase (naturally), and my trusty travel journal is brimming with ideas. It's going to be an amazing week, and I simply cannot wait to share it all with you!

This is my second visit to Milan, but it still holds a certain allure, a sense of timeless grandeur, all set against a backdrop of modern energy. The scent of freshly brewed espresso in the morning air, the hustle and bustle of people on the streets, the graceful silhouettes of iconic buildings against the clear blue sky – it's like a fashion runway of life! And just as I imagined, the city itself seems to be dressed in a delicate, elegant shade of blush pink, whispering secrets about fashion, creativity, and the pure joy of life.

This week, I'm looking forward to diving headfirst into the world of Milanese culture: indulging in a delicious gelato (of course, strawberry is my top choice!), browsing the stylish boutiques along Via Montenapoleone, catching a ballet performance at Teatro alla Scala (nothing beats the magic of a grand theatre), and perhaps even taking a class at the esteemed Accademia Teatro alla Scala – who knows, maybe I'll be able to share my secrets for nailing that perfect pirouette.

Speaking of which, darling, let's talk about pink! This vibrant, enchanting hue has always been my personal obsession, and Milan, with its bold statement fashion and vibrant street style, seems to have embraced it as well! The pastel hues that dot the city, from the pastel-colored houses and cafes to the pops of pink in window displays and shopfronts, make my heart flutter with pure joy! It's a reminder that life is meant to be celebrated with colour, creativity, and a touch of pink!

But first things first! This evening, I'm taking a charming little tram ride to explore the heart of Milan - Piazza del Duomo. Imagine: a massive cathedral, beautiful gothic architecture, a charming square bustling with activity - all set against a canvas of vibrant pink hues. Pure bliss, don't you think?

Before I run off, let me quickly catch you up on what I've been up to. Last week, I had the absolute honour of performing in Derby, England! My friends from Derbyshire's Dance Company gathered together for a fabulous performance, and of course, I joined in with my special pink tutu – a beautiful creation, I must say! We performed to a lovely audience of about 200 people – they even had complimentary scones at the end!

This past week, I took some time to plan my trip to Milan and pack for this wonderful adventure. Let's just say I'm very happy with how my luggage turned out! You wouldn't believe the adorable pink travel case I bought! There were a couple of cute matching pink travel bags with flowers embroidered on them, and of course, the gorgeous fluffy pink travel bag I absolutely had to have! It’s all very pink, and very very Emma!

Oh, I simply adore the elegant feel of a long train journey. It’s like an adventure all by itself! The sound of the train chugging along, the views as they zip past my window - and of course, a little afternoon tea on the train. You see, for me, every journey is an opportunity to create memories, to capture moments that inspire and create beauty, a sort of visual ballet, if you will. And that's exactly what I plan to do during my stay in Milan!

I can already picture myself gracefully twirling through the city's charming squares and gardens, capturing every elegant detail with my trusty pink camera – oh! How could I forget! This pink vintage camera is my absolute favourite! I love taking photographs, but my favourite way to capture things is to use the viewfinder of my gorgeous vintage camera and then hand-draw my own sketches, which are truly amazing! They will make fabulous souvenirs when I get back to Derbyshire!

I'm feeling full of creative inspiration! You see, a little pink tutu, some creative freedom, and the magic of a vibrant city – it's all I need to set my imagination flying! I can't wait to discover new and inspiring angles, learn a little about Italian culture, and dance with joy through the streets of Milan!

Oh, by the way, don’t forget to check out the fabulous blogosphere for more delightful stories, captivating photographs, and a sprinkle of pink magic! The wonderful, pink-loving fashionista at “The Ballerina Blog” posted a beautifully written piece about Milan's most iconic landmarks - *she even captured a shot of a stunning vintage Vespa covered in blush-toned flowers! * A truly breathtaking sight.

I'll be posting more photos from my journey later in the week, and maybe even some drawings of the wonderful sights I have been experiencing. And of course, I’ll tell you about the gorgeous ballet show at Teatro alla Scala! So stay tuned, and don't forget to follow me on my social media platforms: you can find me on “The Ballerina’s Twitter”, “The Ballerina’s Facebook”, “The Ballerina’s Instagram” and, of course, “The Ballerina’s YouTube”.

Until next time, stay creative, stay pink, and above all, stay happy!

Yours truly,

Emma 💖🩰
