I’m feeling utterly “Milanese” this week. You see, a dash of magic landed on my doorstep in the form of a stunning ballet performance, a fabulously pink shopping spree, and, of course, a touch of quintessential Italian charm - all while clad in my favourite shade, the one that reflects my mood precisely - pink! 💕
This week, I decided to trade the graceful rhythm of my ballet classes for a journey through the rhythmic clanging of trams and the melodic rumbling of trains! You know how much I love those old-fashioned carriages, with their worn, velvety seats, their vintage advertisements, and the warm light filtering through their grimy windows - they’re like living museums on wheels! 🕰️
So, naturally, I packed my pink tutu for this week's trip to Milan. My pink-loving heart can never resist a day spent browsing Milan’s fashion mecca, via della Spiga, and the magnificent boutiques lining this street didn’t disappoint! Imagine my delight as I stumbled upon a gorgeous shop overflowing with the most exquisitely crafted ballet slippers – each one a piece of art, and all shimmering in the softest shade of baby pink. You bet I bought myself a new pair - because, let's be honest, a ballerina can never have too many ballet slippers, right?! 🩰
After a delightful day exploring Milan’s streets, my love for the performing arts beckoned. My friends and I journeyed to Teatro alla Scala – one of the most iconic opera houses in the world! You can't deny the majestic aura of this venue. Its grand, almost regal presence makes you feel a sense of belonging to a bygone era. It was truly a special experience! I’ll admit, it’s an utter delight to catch a performance of renowned opera and ballet dancers from all corners of the globe. It is an explosion of pure, elegant energy that I feel resonates with my own soul. It fills me with so much happiness and awe! 💕
My Italian adventure would not be complete without a delicious taste of local culinary delights. I stumbled upon a cute little café nestled amongst the busy, buzzing streets of Milan. This enchanting little café offered a delightful selection of fresh pastries and delectable cakes, all exquisitely crafted with vibrant colours, intricate designs, and tempting scents. What did I choose, you ask? Naturally, the most beautiful creation on display - a delicate pink macaroon! It tasted as divine as it looked. The flavour lingered on my tongue, reminding me of the joy of living, the power of indulgence, and the beauty of the Italian way of life. 🇮🇹
Now, speaking of beautiful creations, I have to share my most recent “Pink Tutu Inspiration” with you! The other day, while catching a street performance of some incredible musicians, a wonderful, almost surreal sight caught my eye! A troupe of street dancers was performing their captivating ballet routine - graceful, passionate, and moving - and they were all wearing pink! It was a sea of swirling pink tulle, bouncing against the backdrop of the lively, energetic Italian street performers. 💖 It was truly magical, a beautiful juxtaposition of art and urban grit. A moment that solidified my passion to encourage everyone to embrace their inner ballerina and add a splash of pink to their wardrobe! It's an empowering, vibrant statement! 🌸
