Ciao bella! 🩰 It’s Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-clad traveller, back from the vibrant streets of Milan! It’s Monday, which means a fresh week, a brand new Pink Tutu Milan blog post, and, of course, the pinkest outfit imaginable! 💖
Today’s post is dedicated to the dazzling city of Milan. This week, I’ve been swept away by the energy, the style, the fashion, the ballet! Honestly, what more could a girl ask for?
My arrival in Milan was nothing short of a fairy-tale! I hopped off the train, feeling the breeze brush through my hair as I spun my way to the bustling station. Milan always has that certain je ne sais quoi, a Parisian-meets-Italian elegance that makes it truly special. And let’s be honest, there's just something incredibly romantic about riding the tram in a pink tutu. Don’t you think? 🥰
But first, let's talk about fashion, darling!
You already know my passion for clothes – I could shop for hours on end! So imagine my joy at discovering Milan’s shopping heaven. It's a haven for haute couture and fashion enthusiasts! You’ll find boutiques for every style imaginable, from classic Italian elegance to edgy, avant-garde creations. And the shoe shops! Oh my, the shoes! They are simply divine. Every time I turn a corner, my heart leaps a little.
Now, who else feels like they’re in a fairytale? 💖 I did a lot of shopping this week. My collection of tutus has just had a massive update, and my shoes? Let's just say they deserve their own post! 👠
Now, onto the reason why I'm truly here: ballet!
The Teatro alla Scala - simply breathtaking. This iconic opera house is renowned for its architectural beauty and its rich history. And you know what else? Ballet. I spent the evening entranced by the elegance and athleticism of the dancers, their grace and fluidity echoing the timeless beauty of the theater itself. You just feel like you’ve been transported back in time, but in a super fabulous, modern way, which I think is pretty amazing, right?
Oh, I nearly forgot to mention. Tonight's performance was a modern take on "Sleeping Beauty" - a new rendition that managed to capture the fairytale magic while giving it a contemporary twist!
Speaking of modern twists, remember I told you I'd be taking some ballet classes while in Milan? Well, I discovered this incredible studio with floor-to-ceiling windows, letting the sunshine stream in as we warmed up our muscles. My favourite part? The class was all about the street-inspired choreography, adding a fresh, contemporary touch to traditional ballet. This is one way to make sure ballet can go anywhere. It can be elegant, it can be powerful, and it can be playful and fun – just like my life, honestly! 😂
Ballet isn't just about performances, my dears. It’s about the journey, the exploration, and the constant desire to grow and learn. This past week has been a whirlwind of beautiful sights, amazing experiences, and some serious shopping sprees!
Oh, I almost forgot! My new tutu obsession is the ones with fluffy feathers - like something straight out of a dreamscape! I've even bought some fabric to create a DIY feather tutu. I can’t wait to show you the finished product in next week's post! ✨
