Pink Tutu Milan #172: A Week in the City of Fashion! 🩰✨

Ciao Bella! It’s your girl, Emma, back with another post from the glorious city of Milan. It’s been another whirlwind week of tutus, trains, and to-die-for fashion, and I can’t wait to share every exquisite detail with you lovely lot!

As always, my little pink tutu has been my trusty companion as I explored the winding streets and opulent squares of this city. This week, I was particularly enchanted by the charm of the Brera district. It’s a haven of artistry and history, crammed with gorgeous boutiques and charming cafes. And of course, it's simply begging to be explored in a pink tutu, right? 😉

A Ballet Bonanza

I kick-started my week with a delightful visit to Teatro alla Scala. This historic theatre is simply breathtaking! I’d heard so much about the legendary ballet performances and let me tell you, the hype was definitely justified. Watching these incredibly talented dancers leap and pirouette with such effortless grace was utterly mesmerising! And can you believe they had a pink tutu solo? * swoons *

Speaking of dancing, I was also lucky enough to catch a breathtaking ballet performance by the Teatro alla Scala Ballet. The stage was transformed into a magical wonderland with opulent sets, intricate costumes, and a vibrant mix of classic and contemporary pieces. Every movement flowed effortlessly from one dancer to the next, telling a story with just their bodies.

As a ballerina at heart, I found myself absolutely captivated. The grace and artistry on display truly took my breath away, leaving me feeling completely inspired. There's something truly magical about ballet, isn’t there? It's like watching pure artistry come to life before your very eyes. 🩰

Fashion and Fables

Milan, of course, is a true fashion capital, and this week, I indulged in some serious window-shopping – and let’s be honest, maybe even a little bit of actual shopping! I adore Milan’s eclectic mix of designer labels and vintage treasures.

One of my favourite finds this week was a little boutique nestled in a quiet corner of Brera. It was overflowing with quirky and stylish accessories, many of which would look absolutely delightful paired with a pink tutu! And I even spotted a new ballet-inspired line of footwear – a must-have for any pink tutu aficionado. I simply had to add a few pieces to my growing collection! 👠

Tram Travels and Tasty Treats

One of the things I love most about Milan is its fantastic public transport system. Hopping on the tram is always a delightful adventure, allowing me to soak up the local culture and soak in the sights, all while sporting my favourite pink tutu, of course! I feel completely at home in these charming trams, where the locals are always friendly and the atmosphere is always vibrant.

Of course, no trip to Milan is complete without indulging in a few local treats! From steaming cappuccinos in quaint cafes to slices of delicious gelato, this city knows how to tantalise tastebuds. And don’t even get me started on the focaccia! My latest obsession is the focaccia al pesto – divine! 😋

Pink Tutu Paradise

Speaking of pink tutus, Milan is actually a truly inspiring place for the colour pink. Imagine this - vibrant murals splashed with bright hues, pink flamingo sculptures adorning parks, even a beautiful pink palace just outside the city! There’s truly pink magic in the air.

This week I was especially thrilled to stumble upon a vibrant mural depicting a ballet dancer in a pink tutu, amidst a backdrop of flourishing cherry blossom trees. This beautifully executed piece really captured the essence of both ballet and my personal style! And let’s face it, it’s practically begging for a pink tutu to grace it with its presence!

Derbyshire Delight

So much for the glamorous life in Italy! Let's go back in time for a moment. On a rainy day last week I felt nostalgic for home. Derbyshire is known for its rolling green hills, charming villages and breathtaking countryside. It was a joy to reminisce about walks through the Peak District in my beloved Derbyshire and how beautiful it is when the sun peeks out through the clouds, revealing vibrant rainbow colours against a backdrop of deep blue skies. It's all about feeling connected to those humble roots that have shaped who I am.

But, the life of a pink tutu traveller calls! It's time for a fresh perspective and a splash of vibrant colours - which is why I can’t wait for next week's adventure in this fabulous fashion city!
