Pink Tutu Milan: Ciao from the City of Fashion! 🩰🇮🇹 #425

Hey darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, reporting live from Milan, Italy! 🇮🇹 It feels so good to be back in this gorgeous city, a place that vibrates with the rhythm of fashion and culture, a city that whispers 'Dolce Vita' on every cobbled street corner. 💖

This week marks the 425th instalment of my Pink Tutu Milan blog – can you believe it? My love affair with this city continues to blossom, and I just had to share my latest adventures with you!

For the last two weeks, I’ve been travelling around Derbyshire, performing in my favourite ballet pieces and showcasing my most recent, pink tutu creations. My travels included a glorious performance of 'Swan Lake' in a charming village hall (where, thankfully, no one seemed to notice that the swan's costumes weren’t quite pink enough for my liking!). 😅 We did, however, manage to sneak in a little extra 'pink' into the set design with some delightful flower arrangements. It's the little things, isn't it?

After my stint as a Derbyshire swan, it was back to the heart of my favourite city – Milan! 👠

Milan never ceases to amaze me. The air is thick with a buzzing energy, the streets are overflowing with beautiful people, and the scent of espresso and leather wafts through every corner. 💖

Milan, a City Built on Style:

Walking down Via Montenapoleone, you’re bombarded with eye-popping displays in the window of Prada, Gucci, and Dolce & Gabbana. This street alone makes my heart skip a beat – so many beautiful clothes to look at, so many new pink tutu possibilities! 😍

Of course, my Pink Tutu pilgrimage would be incomplete without a visit to the Teatro alla Scala. This grand old dame of opera houses is steeped in history, a testament to Italian artistic excellence, and a feast for the senses. This time, I saw a delightful rendition of ‘La Traviata’ that swept me away to 19th century Paris with its passionate story and breathtaking music. I can’t resist adding my own twist to my wardrobe while attending such shows: think shimmering pink sequined gloves and a delicate floral tulle skirt – perfectly elegant for a night at the opera, don’t you think? 😉

Fashion Frenzy:

Now, a girl simply cannot visit Milan without indulging in a little retail therapy! My recent Pink Tutu obsession has led me down some fascinating backstreets, stumbling upon hidden gems like vintage shops overflowing with vintage hats and feathered boas. And you simply can't leave Milan without popping into La Rinascente – the epitome of Milanese fashion – where I finally found the perfect pink tutu for my next performance – a featherlight tulle creation, sparkling with thousands of delicate pink sequins. The dream! ✨

Let's talk trams and trains:

There's just something so charming about travelling on Milan’s public transport. The trams, like elegant red ribbons winding through the city, take me through bustling streets, past iconic buildings, and through leafy parks – an experience that wouldn't be complete without my pink ballet flats (always ready to slip on when I need to make a quick dash across the platform)! And what about the train station, the Milano Centrale, an architectural masterpiece – it's like stepping into a grand Parisian salon with its intricate arches, its breathtaking grandeur! I do love to observe the Milanese - you get a real feel for their character just by sitting and watching, don’t you think? And they are so stylish. Their grace and chic way of holding themselves is always an inspiration. 💕

A City That Moves Me:

And it's not just the clothes and the architecture that get me. This city pulsates with an energy that invigorates me. In its heart, beats the rhythmic heartbeat of classical music, street performers filling squares with passionate melodies, and dancers practicing their routines in dimly-lit studios, striving for perfection. Every corner of this city reminds me of the power of beauty, of art, and of expression. ✨

Pink Tutu Musings

Every time I visit Milan, it seems to give me new ideas for my tutu designs – new materials to explore, new colours to blend, new styles to invent! The city's blend of contemporary design and vintage inspiration fuels my creativity and makes me want to try everything! (Although maybe not the 'skinny jeans with knee-high boots look', that doesn't quite fit with the pink tutu vibe - ha! 😜).

My Milan Must-Dos:

Now, I simply must share a few pink tips for visiting this glamorous city, you lovely lot, because Milan is simply too good not to share!

1. Coffee Culture: The scent of freshly roasted espresso beans is practically woven into the fabric of this city, so grab a ‘caffè’ at any osteria or café and soak up the lively atmosphere.

*2. * The Pinacoteca di Brera: A real visual feast with incredible works by Italian masters such as Mantegna, Bellini, and Raphael. Definitely worth the visit. 🎨

*3. * A stroll through the beautiful Parco Sempione: Escape the urban rush and enjoy the serenity of nature in this lush green space - perfect for people-watching with your favourite pink picnic blanket! 🌸

4. * Treat yourself to a gelato! No trip to Milan is complete without savouring the rich flavours of a genuine Italian gelato. A *pink pistachio, perhaps? 🍨

5. Shop until you drop: Milan's fashion scene is alive with colour, from designer boutiques to independent vintage shops, you’re sure to find something pink (and maybe even tutu-worthy) that speaks to your soul. ✨

Pink Tutu Goals:

And now, to my mission… to get the entire world wearing a pink tutu. I know it sounds crazy, but the more pink there is in the world, the brighter our days will be. Remember – wearing a pink tutu doesn’t mean you have to be a ballerina. Anyone can wear a pink tutu - even if it’s just a pink ribbon around your hair! The world needs a little more sparkle and whimsy. 🌎💖

So, go on, get yourself a pink tutu and spread the love. Because when we wear pink, we wear happiness! 💗

Until next time, stay fabulous, darlings! 💖

Love,

Emma xoxo
