Hello, darling dears! It’s your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, Emma, and it’s a bellissima Monday here in Milan! As always, I'm posting live from my little flat, right next to the glorious Duomo. (If you don’t know the Duomo, well, you really must see it - it's simply divine!)
A Quick Catch-up!
First things first, it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Milan post without a little chat about the most incredible things I've seen and experienced since last week! I’m still completely giddy from a spectacular performance by the Teatro alla Scala Ballet last Friday night. La Bayadere! The story, the costumes, the music… oh, mon dieu! I literally danced in my seat! (Thankfully, it was one of the plush velvet seats that are so comfy!) I love how those dancers always look so graceful, and I can't wait for my next class at the Scuola di Ballo in a couple of days.
I’m so grateful for these experiences, you know. It’s like every moment is a fairytale! Ballet is my true passion, and I've made a real career out of it! Yes, darling dears, this pink tutu-wearing blogger lives the dream! It’s not all easy, mind you. Funding my travel and all these fabulous tutus does involve quite a bit of hard work. I'm forever twirling on stage, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Every single pirouette and pas de bourrée is worth it!
A Little Fashion, A Lot of Pink!
But, enough about my boring routine! What you're really here for, right? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Speaking of things fabulous, you simply can’t miss this week’s haul! Oh my, I may have gone a little overboard with a few pink finds (what can I say? My love affair with pink is deep and everlasting!) There’s a stunning silk scarf from that gorgeous shop, Amani - they had the most wonderful array of colours and designs! It’ll be perfect for adding a touch of Milanese glamour to my tutu outfits! And just wait till you see my fabulous new handbag - a bright fuchsia leather tote with delicate silver detailing from that quirky shop on Via Sant’Andrea. Talk about an eye-catching addition to any wardrobe!
Let's just say this: you really need to make Milan a stop on your travel list! There's something for everyone here - stunning architecture, divine food, incredible art... and don't even get me started on the fashion! The city is a constant feast for the eyes. The way the locals style themselves - chic, modern, but with that subtle touch of Italian je ne sais quoi - it’s simply inspiring! I'm totally smitten with Milan! I'm pretty sure I could spend months here, and still find a whole new street full of chic boutiques and gorgeous cafés every day.
A Day Trip to Como - The "Lake of Miracles"!
Speaking of exploring, I just had to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a day and spend some time in the picturesque Lake Como. I took the train, you know, those old, vintage carriages with all the ornate designs, which reminded me of some of the most fabulous ballrooms in London. I truly believe you can get everywhere you need to by train.
Imagine my delight when I got to Como! I can only describe it as picture perfect - the shimmering waters of the lake reflecting the majestic mountains, cobbled streets lined with charming houses with beautiful pink bougainvillea spilling over the walls - simply stunning. I’d packed a very sparkly pink picnic blanket, so I sat by the lake and indulged in the most divine local gelato! My favourite was the rose gelato, a perfect pairing with the pinkness of my tutu and the pretty pastel colours of the village.
And the Fashion Continues...
But wait, darling dears! I saved the best for last. Today is The Milan Fashion Week! Can you even believe it?! I can hardly contain myself, so you’re getting a whole extra special blog post today on Pink Tutu Milan! I’m going to go get my hair done, find the most divine tutu to wear, and I’m off to soak up all the incredible energy! I'm dreaming of seeing those incredible haute couture gowns! Can you imagine the creativity?
