Pink Tutu Milan - Wednesday 2008-07-09 - Post #683

Buongiorno, my dearest Tutuettes! It's Wednesday, which means another adventure is about to unfold in sunny Milan, and guess who's here to share it all with you? Cue dramatic, twirling entrance!

Well, of course, it's your very own pink tutu-clad explorer, ready to delve into the cultural and sartorial delights this fabulous city has to offer!

Remember last week's thrilling escapade with the Venice Opera Ballet? I shared my dazzling tutu moment in front of St Mark's Square, where I absolutely floored everyone with my breathtaking pirouette, just as the sun dipped behind the Doge's Palace. The Italians gasped, applauded, and then showered me with compliments. Pure magic, I tell you!

Anyway, back to the present, and the excitement surrounding this week's ballet show. But first, a confession! My trusty travel companion, my darling pink tulle tutu, is slightly singed after a close encounter with the Doge's Palace fireworks (don't tell anyone!). Don't worry though, it's only a tiny smudge. But just in case, I've got a backup tucked away in my trusty suitcase - you never know when a glamorous emergency might require a swift change of tulle!

Today's itinerary is packed with delightful plans:

  1. Breakfast: My tummy is grumbling, and it's begging for the delicious pancake cafe on Via Dante.

  2. Morning: Today's the day I explore the city’s fabulous boutiques, the fashion capital is practically calling my name! And what better excuse to adorn myself in a new dress? The pink tulle tutu, obviously, shall make a grand appearance at some point!

  3. Lunch: Sshhhh! Secret spot coming up. Let's just say the parmesan cheese there is divine!

  4. Afternoon: Time for some culture! Today’s balletshow is an absolute dream - "Giselle". Oh, the beauty of it!

  5. Dinner: You know I love finding a gem in the most unlikely corners, right? And this evening is no exception. It’s off to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II for a fabulous Italian spread, accompanied by an aperitivo. Can't resist those pretty Aperol Spritz!

  6. Evening: Time to relax and pen these thoughts down for all you lovelies back in Derbyshire, and get ready for more tomorrow. I'm feeling all kinds of inspiration flowing today.

I love exploring the cobbled streets and the vibrant colours of this city. Milan truly knows how to embrace life with gusto! I have been lucky enough to witness incredible ballet performances here. My travels around Europe are definitely fueled by the incredible talent and skill of ballet performers all over the continent. You can't beat that elegant dance - my absolute passion!

But I wouldn't be able to share all of these adventures if it weren't for the support from my ever-growing tribe of pink tutu lovers! It truly does my heart good knowing that I am inspiring other fashionistas to embrace their inner tutu goddess. And who knows, maybe I’ll even turn the entire world pink!

Speaking of pink, I think this adorable pale pink silk top with a delicate bow, found this morning, perfectly matches my favourite hot pink handbag. This afternoon I’m planning on trying it out with my tutu - you can guarantee the results will be a vision of loveliness! I am going to pick up a gorgeous bunch of peonies at the mercato near Piazza Cordusio, too - they are such an iconic symbol of Milan’s vibrant colours, just like my very own pink tulle tutu.

I even managed to find the most amazing little bakery just outside the Duomo. Their cannoli is a must-try, they are pure indulgence! My sweet tooth is singing with joy! It seems like everywhere I turn in this glorious city, I'm finding a new treasure! I have my favourite shop at Piazza Cordusio. It is always such a delight. My friends back in England all think I've lost my mind with my fascination with Italy, but who cares? I feel so free, so alive, and full of creativity, that every single day here is a gift.

Right now, I’m settling into the chic café I told you about. The sweet scent of roasted coffee beans mixed with the floral fragrance of my beautiful new peonies is just intoxicating! I feel truly blessed, don’t you?

You all know how much I adore tram travel, it’s so convenient and scenic here! And don't even get me started on Milan’s impressive tram network – so well-planned, so efficient! Just today I saw the most elegant woman in a white dress and silver stiletto heels looking simply breathtaking. Such stylish Milanese. Of course, as soon as I catch my breath, I am going to start researching for my next stop. So, what about a whirlwind trip to Tuscany next week, I hear their Renaissance artistry is divine!

Anyway, I've been prattling on for long enough! Remember to check in on Monday, darling Tutuettes, for a special update! I'll be giving you the inside scoop on what's trending on Milan's catwalks!

Until then, keep your tutus fluffy and your spirits bright!

With a pirouette and a wink,

Emma

XOXO
