Pink Tutu Milan: #1011 - A Week of Pink & Posing in the City of Style
Ciao bellas! It's Emma here, back from the glorious city of Milan with a heart full of tutus, a suitcase bursting with new frocks, and a head full of ballerina dreams.
As usual, I’ve spent the last week immersed in the fabulousness of Italy. The week's been packed, of course - after all, it's Milan, where even the pigeons strut with style! And I have a feeling I might just have made some exciting contacts in the fashion scene...more on that later. 😉
This week, I started with a delicious brunch on Saturday, with croissants, coffee, and lots of gossip with the lovely ladies in my ballet group. You know, we share that kind of secret code of looks that says, “How about the size of those shoes? Are you doing the triple pirouette this week?” 🩰
Milan was bubbling over with events this weekend. There was an amazing street performance in the main square – I mean, can you believe it, right? An entire cast of ballerinas and actors telling a story through mime, music, and movement. Of course, my Pink Tutu was front and centre (it practically has a life of its own, honestly!) and people stopped to take pictures of me in my pinkness – I think it was quite the spectacle. 🤩
The beauty of this city is the constant inspiration. You really never know where you're going to spot a fashion masterpiece. Even just wandering through the city centre, I saw a woman looking so chic in a pink cashmere coat and a black tutu – seriously, it looked like she stepped out of a magazine! Talk about fashion envy! Of course, I just had to grab a photo (and hopefully some style tips!) but you know how it is with those chic Milanese ladies. Always elusive...always on the move. 😉
Then, after brunch, my little Italian adventure was about to kick off in true ballerina style. I hopped on the tram in my pinkest ensemble and, guess what? I bumped into the sweetest little girl, dressed up as a tiny, little, pink ballerina. I had to grab her little hand for a quick photo. It was almost too adorable for words. I think she really loved the Pink Tutu – maybe she’ll become a big-time ballerina when she's older. That would be something wouldn't it? 👧
Later on, Saturday evening, I was mesmerized by a show-stopping performance of "The Nutcracker" at Teatro alla Scala. Milan is famous for its incredible theatres and ballet schools, and it just seemed to amplify the magic of the performance. As I watched the beautiful ballerinas in their swirling tutus and sparkling costumes, my own ballet heart did a little frou-frou of its own.
Even with a full schedule of performances, I managed to sneak in some time for a fashion shopping spree. You know me - gotta find the perfect dress for my next dance competition. Luckily, Milan never disappoints. I snagged the most divine scarlet, off-the-shoulder number with lace embellishments at Gucci – it's like something straight out of a dream! The only problem is, my suitcase is already bulging with new pink tutu dresses! Ah well, such is life as a ballet blogger on a mission to get everyone into the pink tutu lifestyle. 💃
On Sunday, I had a private ballet class with one of Milan's most prestigious instructors – a strict but inspiring lady named Isabella. Let's just say, my pirouettes needed a bit of work. 😂 Isabella’s discipline is worth every sweat drop and ache – that girl’s got style! You can bet I’ll be applying what I learned in the next performance. There's nothing quite like that ballet flow you get in the middle of a perfect routine, with the energy of the other ballerinas swirling around you. It's the ultimate form of self-expression, don't you think?
Monday morning rolled in and I made my way to the gorgeous Central Railway Station. It’s a symphony of beautiful art and architecture - an iconic sight, with huge windows pouring light on the masses of people scurrying between the trains. For my last afternoon in Milan, I sat in one of the station’s delightful cafes and sipped espresso, people watching as the hustle and bustle of Milan played out before me. It felt a little bit like a ballet of life, you know, every single person a different dancer playing their part in the grand spectacle. And the air? Filled with a symphony of language – Italian, French, German…all of it mixed together like an exciting score.
This trip really reminded me why I'm obsessed with this amazing country. Milan’s a melting pot of beauty, creativity, and glamour - all served with a healthy dose of espresso! I'm not sure how I'll top this week, but I'll keep you posted, my dears!
Love, Emma

Now, I know you're thinking - why all this Pink Tutu stuff? Why not just "ballet"? Well, it’s because I think that pink tutu embodies all things positive, vibrant, and feminine. The way it makes you feel when you wear it. The way it makes you move and groove. It’s that same feeling that drew me to ballet in the first place - a sense of grace, poise, and freedom. And believe me, my lovely ladies, if you put on a pink tutu, the world’s a whole lot brighter. Just try it – trust me.
And I also like to make things fun! A bit cheeky! It’s good to laugh, isn’t it?
And with that, I’ll leave you with a few photos of my fabulous adventures this week. You can check them out on my Instagram @pinktutumilan - make sure to follow me to catch up on the latest Pink Tutu shenanigans! You’ll never regret it, my dears.
Photos from my Italian AdventurePhoto: Emma standing proudly in a pink tutu in front of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II – a magnificent masterpiece of Italian architecture, bursting with ornate details, glistening chandeliers, and boutiques filled with stunning fashion. It’s no wonder that this shopping haven has been attracting people for years. And it's just so damn photogenic!
*Photo: A group photo of Emma with some friends, all in ballet dress, posing in front of the iconic Milan Duomo. * The Duomo – oh my, what an epic cathedral! This marvel of gothic architecture with its soaring spires and breathtaking interior is absolutely spectacular. This has to be one of Milan's most stunning landmarks, and just look how pretty it looks with my ballerina pals! Every time I visit this magnificent cathedral, it feels like stepping back in time.
Photo: Emma wearing her brand new scarlet Gucci dress and a playful, pink tutu in her hotel room, looking ready for a night out. This dress, I'm telling you - pure perfection! Scarlet and pink, just divine! That night out? Forget about it! This is a dream look, I tell you! I think I just fell in love! 😍
Photo: A close-up photo of a little girl with pink ballet shoes in the street market, looking up at Emma with admiration. See! I knew I would have a magical moment in Milan. This little pink princess, eyes bright with excitement, just melted my heart. She was absolutely enchanted by my pink tutu and was trying out some pirouettes right there in the middle of the street market! What a sweetie. 😍
Photo: A glimpse of a beautiful scene – Emma dancing on a tram, wearing her Pink Tutu. The tram carriage is full of people, and everyone is watching with a smile. You might have guessed, this is not your average tram ride! I couldn’t help myself - when the beat started, the Pink Tutu got the upper hand. I'm pretty sure I was the talk of the whole tram carriage, but that's alright! I'm all about spreading the magic of ballet! 🩰 And who wouldn't be mesmerised by a ballerina gracefully spinning and pirouetting through the city in her pink tutu, right? 😉
*See you next Monday for another Pink Tutu Milan adventure! *
*Remember, my lovelies, you don’t need to be a professional dancer to feel the magic of ballet. All you need is a pink tutu, a smile on your face, and a desire to dance your way through life!
