Pink Tutu Milan #1054: Buongiorno Bella! 🩰🇮🇹

Ciao everyone! It's Emma here, writing to you from the glamorous, fashionable, and ever-so-pink city of Milan! 💋

I'm currently sitting in a little café on Via Dante, a street bursting with energy and vibrant life. Sunbeams dance through the café windows, painting the pavement in gold, and I can almost feel the Italian sunshine sinking into my skin. The aroma of freshly brewed espresso fills the air, along with the sweet chatter of locals, which sounds like a symphony of laughter and Italian charm. It's moments like this that make me believe I'm living my best life, right here in the heart of Milan!

This is post number 1054 of my Pink Tutu Milan adventures, and you know the drill - Monday morning, a fresh post is ready for you, chock-full of ballet, beauty, fashion, and my usual dash of pink sparkle! ✨

It feels surreal to be back in Italy again, especially after the incredible performance last week in Derbyshire. It was such a delight to see familiar faces and bring the magic of ballet back to my home county. The sheer joy of dancing and the heartwarming applause – well, there's nothing quite like it, is there? I even caught a glimpse of little Amelia, a ballerina in training, who told me I inspired her to pursue her dreams! 🩰 That, my dear readers, is truly the icing on the cake.

Now, onto the glorious city of Milan! I must admit, my heart did a little skip when I first set foot on the train platform, the sleek Italian trains buzzing with anticipation. Milan holds such a special place in my heart. This city radiates an undeniable magic. From the historic grandeur of the Duomo, to the iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, its fashion houses and buzzing art scene, this city never fails to leave me breathless.

My Milan Itinerary

Today, I'm embarking on a truly inspiring journey of dance, fashion, and of course, my favourite shade: pink! 🌸

Here's my schedule:

Morning

  • *10:00am - * Breakfast of champions - fresh croissant with strawberry jam and a strong cup of cappuccino (they have the best cappuccino here, by the way!) 🥐
  • 11:00am - A quick pit-stop at Atelier di Caterina Boccato on Via Vincenzo Monti to browse their incredible collection of designer fabrics, trims, and beads! I'm picturing a breathtaking pink silk chiffon with delicate sequins - the perfect inspiration for a new ballet costume!

Afternoon

  • 1:00pm - Lunchtime delight at Ristorante Luini, known for its absolutely divine panzerotti. You can never go wrong with crispy, golden panzerotti! 🍕
  • 2:30pm - La Scala Academy, time to watch the beautiful ballerinas in training! I love soaking up the passion and dedication in their movements. It truly reminds me why I love this art form so much!
  • 3:30pm - Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II - An afternoon of browsing for those gorgeous, delicate Italian silk scarves. Every scarf has a story to tell, and I simply must add a new one to my collection. I always feel like a real princess stepping into this grand space.

Evening

  • 7:00pm - Teatro alla Scala - A much-anticipated evening at the famed Teatro alla Scala, to watch Romeo and Juliet, with the beautiful Natalia Osipova taking the stage as Juliet. I simply can't wait to see the magic unfold. And of course, I’ll be sporting a fabulously pink, elegant dress, perfectly accessorized with a matching pink tutu. What's an Italian ballet adventure without a little touch of pink magic, right? 💖

Travel Tips:

  • Trolleybuses are a delightful way to get around. I love riding on the Milanese trolleybuses - it feels like stepping back in time, and the panoramic views of the city are spectacular! It’s like a mobile art gallery!
  • Don’t be afraid to embrace the trams. The tram system in Milan is a seamless, affordable, and super easy way to get around the city! You can get practically anywhere without worrying about parking or navigating tricky streets. It also provides a beautiful, up-close and personal view of the city. Plus, trams are totally charming and a lot more relaxing than driving in this bustling city.
  • Have lunch at Luini - you’ll thank me later! Trust me, the panzerotti are heavenly. It’s a little hole-in-the-wall place in the Brera District, but they serve the most amazing panzerotti – you absolutely have to try them!

Fashion Frenzy!

Okay, let's talk about the fabulous Italian fashion scene, because it deserves all the spotlight! I have already been hitting the designer shops, and let me tell you, Milan is bursting with creativity! The attention to detail, the craftsmanship, and the exquisite materials are all absolutely divine! Every shop window is a work of art, showcasing stunning ensembles and unique designs that would make any fashionista swoon. It’s a shopper’s dream come true.

I’m on a mission to find the most perfect pink statement piece to take home from Milan, a true reminder of my unforgettable time here. It could be anything: a sparkly sequined handbag, a pair of elegant silk gloves, or a luxurious scarf that's bursting with pink petals! The possibilities are endless, and the excitement is real!

Speaking of pink, you might have noticed a new trend I've been obsessing over: Pink tulle! It’s so whimsical and feminine – and it has become the ultimate symbol of the playful spirit of the pink tutu movement. The delicate, airy texture just whispers, "I'm light as a feather, ready for adventure!” It looks stunning as a floaty skirt, a charming veil, or even as an eye-catching accent on a classic ballet dress.

But this trip isn’t just about shopping. This trip is all about embracing the magic and spirit of Milan. From its ancient churches and beautiful piazzas, to the awe-inspiring art at the Pinacoteca di Brera, the vibrant energy in this city never ceases to amaze me. The way everyone walks with an air of confidence, the beautiful, architectural buildings, the laughter echoing in the cafes... I could wander the streets of Milan forever!

Milan by Night:

Tonight, I'm planning to wander around the trendy Navigli district with its vibrant, cobblestone streets and canal waterways. The Navigli canals are lit up with twinkling fairy lights that create a mesmerizing and magical ambiance. I'm looking forward to indulging in a delicious dinner with some freshly baked focaccia bread – so divine!

Then, I'll make my way to a delightful jazz club called The Blue Note where I'll catch the captivating rhythms of a live jazz band. You can’t go wrong with some fantastic live jazz!

So much more to discover:

Of course, Milan is full of wonderful hidden treasures, charming boutiques, delicious street food stalls and artistic alleys that just beg to be explored. My adventures here are far from over, but one thing's for sure, every corner of Milan offers something magical.

Until next time, remember to embrace your inner ballerina, dance through your days, and never be afraid to rock a pink tutu! 😉

Arrivederci!

Emma xoxo
