Pink Tutu Milan: #1066 - Wednesday 11th November 2015

Buongiorno from Milan, darling! I've just finished a glorious afternoon in this vibrant city, and my little pink tutu is positively quivering with excitement. This week I'm focusing on the incredible beauty of Milan - the architecture, the food, and of course, the fashion. You can't visit Milan without soaking up its elegant style, right? But for me, it's about finding the perfect outfit for an evening at the ballet, and this city does not disappoint.

Let's go back to this morning. After a delicious breakfast at my darling little B&B (it's right opposite a bustling flower market, what a dream!), I embarked on a little adventure with the trusty Milanese trams. You just have to try these elegant red trams – they're part of the city's soul, so full of character. It's fascinating watching the world go by through the windows, all the dashing Italian businessmen in their suits, families with prams, and of course, my favourite kind of person - people who get their daily dose of artistic inspiration!

I had to check out the Teatro alla Scala – you can't come to Milan without visiting this grand old dame! Imagine my delight when I spotted a gorgeous shop in the nearby gallery full of pink ballet shoes. Can you believe it? I'm now the proud owner of the most exquisite pair of pink ballet pumps with little pearl accents! My tutu practically screamed in glee!

Then, a little shopping break was in order. You just have to browse through the boutiques on Via Monte Napoleone! From Prada and Valentino to a treasure trove of independent shops brimming with the latest in designer clothes and accessories. My pockets were crying out for a treat, and oh boy, did they get one! It wouldn’t be right to divulge every detail of my little haul (after all, you never want to reveal all your secrets), but suffice it to say that I found myself a fabulous sparkly clutch to accompany my gorgeous ballet outfit!

Later this afternoon, I was so excited to catch a truly breathtaking ballet performance. The Teatro Arcimboldi, designed by a renowned Italian architect, played host to a mesmerizing performance by a company that left me breathless. Their graceful moves and elegant choreography felt like a symphony of light and colour! Seeing that incredible passion and talent onstage truly invigorates my own desire to dance, you know?

And before I drift off into my beautiful dreams about tutus and ballerinas, let's talk about food! Milan is a culinary paradise, and today I found the most enchanting trattoria tucked away in a quiet corner. Imagine the scent of basil, tomatoes, garlic and olive oil swirling through the air – it was pure magic! The perfect end to a perfect day in this captivating city!

What an absolutely wonderful day I've had! My little pink tutu has collected so many lovely memories today, from trams and tea shops to bustling shopping streets and beautiful ballets! You know, there's just something so enchanting about the way that Italy, and Milan especially, wraps you up in its magic.

See you next Monday, when I'll be back with another wonderful update! Don't forget to spread the pink tutu love - #PinkTutuMilan #Milan #PinkTutuAdventures #Fashionista #BalletLife #Travels #TravelBlogger #PinkTutu.com
