Buongiorno, darlings!
The sun is shining brightly here in Milan, and you know what that means… time for a pinktastic adventure! This week, I'm in the heart of the fashion capital, and it’s a whirlwind of designer dreams and oh-so-fabulous style. Let's get this pink party started!
It's Wednesday, 24th May 2017, and I've just stepped off the tram – yes, I do love a good tram journey. They’re a bit like a rolling, glass-walled gallery for the people watching enthusiast. I am, of course, adorned in a vibrant pink tulle tutu – just another day in the life of your favourite Pink Tutu blogger!
Milano - it's simply brimming with beautiful architecture and energy. Even the pigeons seem more stylish here! I've got a packed schedule – we're talking ballet classes, performances, a touch of shopping therapy (for the ultimate pink ensemble, naturally!), and a very exciting theatre visit.
But before I spill all the delicious details, let's have a quick chat about fashion. Did you know Milan is known as the global hub of the haute couture scene? Every shop window is a spectacle of exquisite fabrics and dazzling colours. And what do you know? I spot a gorgeous vintage store with pink dresses hanging in the window. Who's stopping to say hello, darlings? Yep, this gal in a pink tutu! I'm all about celebrating individuality, so naturally, I couldn't resist stepping in and having a little browse. It wouldn’t be fair to give away all the lovely treats they had - you'll have to join me for my next post!
Milan’s Ballet Scene
Right, now let’s talk ballet! I know how much you love hearing about my dance explorations, so I'll make this short and sweet. I couldn't leave Milan without gracing the stage at one of the iconic Teatro Alla Scala! It was an honour to perform here with some talented fellow dancers - we had an audience of theatre aficionados and discerning fashionistas – quite the intimidating crowd, to say the least! I felt utterly in my element - all that stage glamour and elegance truly makes the tutu dance with a newfound confidence! I danced like I was a dream in motion. A pink ballet dream, of course.
My class this morning was a complete blast - we had so much fun! I had to show my ballet besties the gorgeous vintage store from earlier. Their eyes nearly popped out when I showed them the pink dresses and fluffy feather boas. I even found the perfect lace bow headband – a real must-have for any Pink Tutu ballerina. They said it felt like we were living in a magical fashion film, and who knows, maybe one day... we’ll just have to wait and see!
Travel Tales
You know me, darling! There is something incredibly magical about traveling by train. There’s a sense of anticipation as you settle into your comfortable carriage, observing the ever-changing landscapes fly past your window. It really does allow you to reconnect with the present and be completely swept away by the simple joys of traveling. Plus, let's be honest – who doesn't love to look out of a window and get lost in their own little world?
Now, here in Milan, I’ve discovered a fantastic system of tram routes - they feel as sophisticated as a Parisienne waltz - elegant and refined! It always makes my heart sing when I spot people gazing with delight as the tram makes its way down a beautiful boulevard.
I find this all so incredibly exciting – the tram is another fabulous opportunity to spread the pink tutu joy, as we all know, pink isn’t just a colour, it’s an attitude. It's about a joy of life, a burst of confidence - a total and absolute love of dancing in your own style, being bold and embracing life's wonderful adventures. I hope, dear friends, that my pink tutus, are a daily reminder to take a chance, to express yourself and live life full-on!
A Theatre-Worthy Performance
And lastly, the main reason I wanted to come to Milan, other than, you know, being drawn in by the fashion, the charming architecture and the gorgeous cobbled streets – I'm here for the theatre! I saw an incredibly vibrant musical on stage and I am in awe of the talent I have witnessed this week. The music was heart-stopping and I left feeling inspired and with my inner ballerina bursting with excitement. I could almost hear the music in my tutu! I just love seeing a real show! I would like to give a big thumbs up for Milan for truly being the city that keeps giving. I mean, when can you go to a theatre, eat some delicious Italian food and shop till you drop?! (No matter what your style is, they’ve got something for everyone - including you pink loving darlings)!
