Pink Tutu Milan: Wednesday 2019-07-31 - Post 1260!

Ciao, darlings!

It's Emma here, writing to you live from the dazzling metropolis that is Milan! This week, I'm buzzing with excitement, as it's been a whirlwind of tutus, trams, and a truly unforgettable performance.

Milan has quickly become one of my absolute favourite cities. It's bursting with elegance, sophistication, and, of course, the most divine fashion stores imaginable. I've been lucky enough to have performed at the beautiful Teatro alla Scala here in Milan. A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience that's definitely added a sparkle to my already glamorous week.

I have to tell you, the Milanese really embrace their style. It's a truly inspiring place to soak up some fashion inspiration. Just walking around the streets is like browsing a high-fashion magazine. I can't even begin to tell you about the boutiques I've been window-shopping in (and, you know, perhaps indulging in a few treats!). My most recent favourite? A little hidden gem called [Name a fashion boutique, do your research!] which, let's just say, gave my bank account a good run for its money - but worth every penny! And, wouldn't you know it? It was in the prettiest shade of pink. Pink! That's my colour, darlings! You know I can't resist a beautiful pink ensemble.

But let's backtrack a bit...

This whole Milan escapade started with a little train journey. It always feels so adventurous, and a great way to see the world go by from the window seat, and this time it felt especially magical. It reminded me of those stories I read as a little girl, you know, the ones where a young girl boards a train and finds herself swept away on an incredible journey! That’s a bit how I feel, even though my journey was to a very real place: Milan.

It was an incredibly quick, two-hour journey from [ Name a nearby town or city near Milan], and before I knew it I was whisked off on my little adventure! I'd popped on my favourite pink tutu - how could I possibly resist? - and a pretty floral frock (Milan’s calling for floral, don’t you think?). My suitcase was a rainbow of possibilities: fluffy skirts, sequinned dresses, and a touch of lace (of course!) – perfect for my Milan escapades!

I arrived in the heart of Milan and was instantly greeted by a symphony of beeps and a gentle, breezy aroma. It was heavenly, don't you think? It made me want to dance in the middle of the city square. In fact, I almost did. I think I would have been the most glamorous and possibly the only ballerina in sight, donning a tutu in that vibrant Milanese atmosphere.

Speaking of dance, let's get to the highlight of the week, the show at the Teatro alla Scala. It was a phenomenal, utterly breathtaking performance. The choreography was mesmerising and I was left absolutely awestruck. It's amazing how movement can tell such compelling stories - and these stories always have the most wonderful way of staying with you even after the curtain falls.

But you know me, right? It wasn’t just about the dancing, there had to be some pink, and some delicious Milanese treats to make my time here even more memorable!

I did a little detour to Pasticceria Marchesi - if you ever find yourself in Milan, you simply have to stop by, especially if you love the delicate flavour of marzipan! Pasticceria Marchesi has been whipping up these delicious delights for years and the shop itself is almost like a magical fairytale with so much character. It’s certainly one of the most Instagrammable shops in Milan – the kind you dream of as a ballet dancer – with all that glitz and glamour.

After my delicious treat, I headed back to my Airbnb apartment, nestled in a quiet little cobblestone lane just outside the city centre, and let me tell you, it felt like I was in a scene from a movie. I mean, picture it: twinkling fairy lights strung across balconies, an enchanting air, and just a little whiff of something wonderful - maybe a little hint of pastry, maybe a touch of flowers. That's the feeling I had as I walked towards my home for the week! It had been a very full day indeed.

Speaking of homes, what's home without the comfort of a hot cup of tea, and a little moment to unwind? My little pink flamingo teacup with the sweetest floral motif became my favourite spot for enjoying a moment of peace amidst all this vibrant excitement.

I truly believe in celebrating the little joys, those small moments of beauty and comfort that we can find in our daily lives. That's the spirit of the Pink Tutu - always looking for beauty and joy, no matter where I go.

Now, I've got a bit of a confession: I had a slight little "ballet shoes" situation, darlings! My precious dance shoes, well, they've been a little more faithful than they used to be. So you know what that meant, don't you? Yes, a little bit of a ballet shopping trip. Milan doesn’t disappoint! You can imagine the kind of joy I felt finding the most gorgeous, sparkly, pink shoes – just imagine the twinkling delight I'll have when I twirl in them next. It was truly like stepping into a ballerina's fairytale. The shoe shop I fell in love with was, you guessed it - pink! Oh my, what a delightful little corner of the world! I’ll add the link to my blog [insert link here].

And guess what else? While I was there I discovered a little corner of paradise... [Name an up-and-coming dancewear brand in Milan that specializes in pink or pastel colors]! They sell the most delightful little pink tutu's with so many different pretty colors and finishes. Honestly, they just called to me – and you know I can't resist.

This was the perfect spot for some ballerina shopping and let’s just say my wardrobe's getting quite the upgrade!

One of the great things about living the Pink Tutu life is always seeking out new experiences and being adventurous! Of course, it helps to find those gorgeous cafes and places to grab a bite to eat while you are out exploring. I love the food here! I don’t know why but I always feel like I need an extra shot of pink at these times!

And speaking of pink, I had a delicious moment at the [Name a pink cafe in Milan or a bakery or eatery known for it’s pink treats!]. Honestly, they made the most perfect cup of pink hot chocolate! I thought it was a sign! A real little reminder to stay Pink Tutu and have fun while travelling in this exciting place.

One thing I absolutely love about travelling, especially to places like Milan, is exploring the city by public transport! There's just something so charming and fun about riding the trams and exploring the vibrant neighbourhoods of this amazing city. I'm truly enamoured by the way Milan moves. I find its dynamic energy to be truly inspirational. I try to incorporate that same spirit in my performances, you know? Every step a celebration of movement and life!

Of course, one of the key things I had to try while in Milan was its famous Gelato! I mean, who could resist? The real question, darling, is which flavor! I mean, a little slice of Strawberry gelato, that’s practically my signature taste!

One thing I learned from my day of travelling around Milan: there are so many secret places waiting to be discovered, little hidden treasures in plain sight. The city is an open invitation to explore, and every step feels like an exciting new chapter in my pink-tutu journey.

Today, as I'm sitting here at my writing desk in Milan (yes, it's my favourite little corner of my Airbnb!) , reflecting on my journey so far. Milan is definitely one of my favourite cities! There’s so much to do and see, it's always buzzing with creative energy, it makes me think, how wonderful would it be to move here?

Speaking of energy... let’s wrap this up so I can take off into the afternoon!

What a great experience in the city that never seems to sleep! Until next week, my dear blog followers!
