Pink Tutu Milan: Week 1323 - Ciao Bella Milano!

Hello my darlings! Emma here, reporting live from Milan, the fashion capital of the world! You might be thinking, what’s a ballerina doing in the city of fashion? Well, you know me, I always go where the fun is. And let me tell you, Milan has been absolutely brimming with excitement this week!

First things first, I simply had to find myself a sparkling pink tutu for the occasion, and as always, the lovely ladies at Boutique D’Angelo in Brera were more than happy to help. A light, ethereal, just pink tulle tutu, that is practically see-through… Oh, and you’ve got to see the new shoes I got at Miu Miu! They’re a bit more "street ballerina" than usual. Imagine a classic pointe shoe, but with a bit of platform… think disco ballerina meets vintage runway!

Anyway, Milan has so much to offer – even beyond the fashion scene! From the exquisite Teatro alla Scala to the bustling Navigli canals, there’s so much to see and do.

Thursday I took the tram out to the Navigli canal and wandered around those lovely cobblestone streets with the beautiful shops. Then, for lunch, I went to a pizzeria – where, obviously, I ordered a pizza Margherita. Can you believe, here, in the heart of fashion, I couldn't even find one single pink napkin to take pictures of!

Later in the evening, I met up with some local ballerinas. We had some wine and enjoyed a delightful "pasta dinner", which was so filling we ended up ordering extra prosecco! (We may have overdone it on the dancing too.) The ballet life is so lovely, the perfect mix of high culture and good food.

Friday I had the best morning! Dancing in Piazza Duomo. You can’t go to Milan without at least posing in front of the famous cathedral! And yes, I wore my new sparkly pink tutu. Pink Tutu Milano! This time, I brought my phone tripod, and the ladies all wanted a photo with me in the tutu - I'm the envy of every single Milanese ballerina!

And after that amazing dance session? Shopping, of course! You know my motto, right? “Life’s too short for dull outfits.”

So, I picked up some stunning pink sunglasses (they totally match my tutu!), and the perfect floral-printed chiffon scarf to add a little flair to any outfit. The scarf is also pink. You probably guessed. Pink goes with everything, it's the color of my inner princess (who wouldn’t want to dress like a princess? )

Saturday was show day! The ballet world has me completely mesmerized!

I spent the afternoon watching a truly captivating performance at the Teatro alla Scala. This place is absolutely breathtaking, inside and out! I found myself staring at the intricate carvings and the golden chandeliers, wondering how it would look all decked out in my favorite pastel pink! (A girl can dream, right? 😉)

And of course, the ballet was phenomenal! I can't even begin to explain the emotion that flowed through me while watching those gracefully moving dancers. You truly feel transported to another world. I could hardly resist the urge to stand up and join in! Perhaps, my dream to perform here someday is actually going to come true.

Sunday is always for chilling (except when it's a performance day). Milan has the most beautiful churches – the interiors are decorated with some incredible gold leaf details that I imagine looking great in a bright pink shade. I could almost picture a sea of pink ballerinas dancing across the marble floors! (Isn't that a glorious image to have in your mind? 😇 )

For dinner, I enjoyed a romantic stroll down Via Montenapoleone. (Even without my tutu! Imagine, it's the most expensive shopping street in the world... with the gorgeous architecture and streetlights and shops...) I enjoyed Milanese style pizza, (which is basically a bigger slice), with the most amazing pistachio ice cream – it was literally green! This culinary adventure almost made up for having to skip the* pistachio gelato with the pink tutu* I had planned to wear to the restaurant (just as an after-dinner treat.)

Oh my! Another great week of ballet bliss in Italy!
My love of tutus and fashion is always there. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect escape to satisfy my wanderlust and ballerina dreams I hope you are all having just as much fun living your ballet dreams, and, please remember, you can do anything you set your mind to, as long as you keep on dancing, smiling, and living your very best ballerina life.

Next week’s adventures will be back on www.pink-tutu.com at the beginning of next week. Stay tuned!
