Hey there, darling readers! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, back with another fabulously pink blog post from the magnificent city that never sleeps – New York City! This week, I'm swirling with excitement because, my dears, it's a week dedicated to pure dancing joy!

I'm whisked back to the iconic bright lights and boundless energy of this magical city, which truly has a place in every ballerina's heart. I've been spinning around Manhattan like a feather caught in a whirlwind – from the most gorgeous fashion boutiques, to the city's finest ballet performances, I'm experiencing all that New York has to offer!

Let's just say this: life in pink is extra sparkly in New York City.

But before I launch into all the juicy details, a little peek into my week in pink, darling!

Oh, it’s a joy to be back in New York after my little spin around the UK! Every Monday morning, it’s always the same: a trip to my favourite pret-a-porter store, Forever Pink, in Times Square – you know, for my weekly top-up of the best pink threads this side of the Atlantic!

Pink is truly my love language – in fashion, in life, you name it. It’s the most uplifting and flattering colour there is, wouldn’t you agree? You can't go wrong with a touch of fuschia, cerise, or even a soft blush.

And darling, talking about pink, there was simply no better place to start the week than with a French-inspired luncheon at Pink Flamingo Cafe. If there’s one place in the city every fashionable New Yorker frequents, it’s this gorgeous gem.

Imagine the prettiest cafe: blush-coloured walls, fluffy pink wicker chairs, floral arrangements that could make your heart swoon!

As the Parisian sun streamed in, casting its golden glow over the cafe, I found myself indulging in a delicately crafted pink macaron with a cup of Earl Grey tea – perfection! I mean, every ballerina deserves a little treat, right?

Let me tell you, ladies: It was the most lovely way to start the week, and I felt the most fabulous feeling all pink by the end of my tea party.

After all that pink loveliness, my love of the stage called for some real ballet magic. I ventured off to the magnificent Lincoln Center to see a performance of the New York City Ballet, where the city’s brightest ballet stars lit up the stage!

This incredible production – “The Sleeping Beauty” - had me enraptured. Those intricate costumes, the delicate pointe work, and the effortless beauty of the dancers left me speechless! There were whispers of Tchaikovsky’s gorgeous music echoing throughout the theatre, filling me with such wonder.

You can almost feel the power of the story flowing through every graceful movement, like the dance itself. This is what makes New York so extraordinary! The energy, the inspiration, it just wraps around you in a delightful hug of brilliance!

On Tuesday, the most exciting news landed in my inbox! This must be shared! It turns out the world-renowned ballerina, Natalia Makarova, is leading a masterclass for aspiring ballerinas at the American Ballet Theatre. Needless to say, this is huge for me! I wouldn’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance. I am a huge admirer of Natalia’s stunning performances!

My love for ballet just overflows when I am at these masterclasses. There's just something about watching the pros, the techniques, and the sheer skill – you are never done learning, and this was just the most beautiful, inspiring event!

But first things first - a new pink tutu for a special masterclass! Let’s face it, you always need the right tutu for the occasion, wouldn’t you agree?

And I wasn’t going to disappoint! My trip to Broadway, darling, lead me to a fabulous vintage boutique. It’s stuffed full of the most divine tutus, all the softest, twirliest pink shades imaginable! I picked a fabulous piece in baby pink with a scattering of shimmering sequins. Absolutely divine. It practically shimmered and twirled on its own, you know!

And how fabulous are those classic pink shoes with matching ribbons? Every ballet fan should own these shoes, and if you need another reason to indulge, these are the perfect shoes for a fabulous night out. You can never have enough sparkly shoes, right?

After my shopping expedition, I was more than ready to take a spin at the ABT studio!

Darling, the New York Metro is one of my favourite forms of transport! Just imagine, zooming through the city while soaking in all the sights – from the imposing Empire State Building to the glistening riverfront skyline - all while I'm dressed in my gorgeous, oh-so-pink tutu!

It just adds to the sense of magic, doesn't it? I love people watching in the subway too – the fabulously diverse styles in NYC make it so fun, and I'm always looking for inspiration for my next outfit, naturally!

This is truly a part of the New York Ballet experience. This incredible city moves and flows and vibrates like an exhilarating, never-ending performance, just like the human body dancing. You get a glimpse of everyone's daily choreography.

New Yorkers are known for their fast pace and dynamism, which perfectly reflect the energy of the ballet world. It’s all so very inspiring!

As I sashayed off from the ABT studio on Tuesday evening, it was clear to me that a glass of pink champagne at a glamorous Manhattan restaurant would be the perfect way to celebrate this magical day! I felt as though my feet could barely touch the ground, but darling, when you are dressed in a pink tutu it just feels that way! It's magic!

This particular New York night out was spent at one of the city’s chicest restaurants, tucked away on a cobbled street in Greenwich Village. This hidden gem offers a divine French-inspired cuisine – a beautiful, relaxed ambience, a divine wine list, and a dress code that invites a little pink - what could be better?

Imagine it, darling, elegant décor, twinkling lights, the sounds of hushed conversation all around - a true Manhattan scene! The air felt positively charged with chicness, and the delicious aromas were absolutely delectable! This night out was certainly not to be missed.

And what New York experience would be complete without a dazzling Broadway show?

On Wednesday, this little ballerina was absolutely bursting with excitement to watch one of the most iconic musical performances: "The Lion King." The show is known for its mesmerizing puppetry, costumes and music, but most importantly, this is truly a Broadway classic, with a wonderful story that touched every part of my heart.

Imagine, dazzling colours, a fabulous stage design, vibrant costumes, breathtaking dance numbers - every moment in this production is a feast for the senses. It was almost impossible to take it all in! I'll definitely be seeing this fabulous musical show again.

After the performance, my eyes were sparkling brighter than ever. It was truly an unforgettable night, the kind that leaves you speechless with awe – that's Broadway, darling for you!

On Thursday, I indulged my everlasting love for all things pink at one of the city’s finest department stores: Saks Fifth Avenue. This store truly has it all – and I mean it, darling! You know how much I love a luxurious experience! And there is something about the atmosphere here that feels like an invitation to celebrate all things beautiful, bright and exciting!

There’s something so fun about discovering hidden treasures amongst a labyrinth of rails and aisles, where every corner whispers the promise of something stylish and wonderful. My dear readers, I could honestly get lost in here for days. But the main reason for my journey into pink today? The opportunity to snag a limited-edition collection of pink tutus - from pastel hues to hot pinks! This store never disappoints, darling.

You can imagine the sheer joy when I found my very own pink, tulle ballet skirt in this collection! It's such a delicate shade of baby pink - with the most lovely, swirling silhouette. You just have to have the perfect skirt in your life, darling! And mine, well, this was it! It is perfect for a special performance or a night out!

Of course, darling, the true delight in any ballerina’s trip is a performance with local students. On Friday, I met the sweetest, most talented group of dancers at the New York Academy of Ballet, a real hidden gem on a little street in The Village. I’m always looking to connect with like-minded dancers, and to inspire them too. After all, everyone should wear pink at some point, shouldn’t they? I love teaching and sharing the joys of ballet - it’s just such a powerful art form. I feel connected to all these beautiful souls when I perform!

The joy of dance shines through when you meet with such passionate individuals, and they are truly some of the most dedicated students! I was struck by their incredible energy and passion. These young ladies are making their own dreams a reality by practicing relentlessly – it truly gives you that extra zest for the love of dance.

These youngsters, they just blew my mind with their talent!

On Saturday, I enjoyed some serenity at the New York Botanical Garden, my favourite escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. It’s such a peaceful place, surrounded by so many wonderful blooms – from the delicate petals of lilies to the vibrant colours of New York’s famed tulips. It’s a joy to just relax and breathe in the fresh air! And of course, darling, what could be better than a lovely walk through these manicured gardens dressed in a fabulously pink outfit? It was a joy to find a little spot under a blossoming cherry tree, tucked away from the crowds – and enjoy the moment – you know, for my peace of mind!

It was simply bliss to spend time in nature, amidst the fragrance of wildflowers.

Today, Sunday, we are back in pink at my little haven, a fabulous Parisian bistro called Pink Pom-Pom, nestled amongst charming boutiques in Greenwich Village. I’m writing my blog as I watch the sun go down over Manhattan. This spot is a place where I can unwind and enjoy a glass of champagne with my favourite pink macarons. I adore the quiet and the way I can be truly myself!

It's my little place where my New York adventure always ends, full of inspiration for my pink blog – after all, a pink tutu and a pink blog are an integral part of my pink adventures – and, my readers, I’m just getting started.
