Pink Tutu Blog: NYC Adventures - #380

Hello darlings! It's Monday again, and I'm back from another whirlwind weekend in the Big Apple! I've had so much fun exploring, seeing shows, and, of course, dancing my little socks off (pun intended!), that I have so much to tell you!

New York City is Calling!

As you know, my mission is to spread the joy of pink tutus around the world! I'm like a little pink ballet butterfly, flitting from one fabulous location to the next, bringing sunshine and sparkle wherever I go. This week, New York was my playground, and I was in full-on tutu-tastic mode!

A Week in the City That Never Sleeps

Last week, I kicked off my NYC adventure with a breathtaking performance at the Metropolitan Opera House. Dancing amidst the opulence of the Metropolitan, it felt like I was part of a dream!

But, New York is a city for exploring, and exploring I did! On Friday, I took a magical stroll through Central Park, my tutu swishing gently in the autumn air, stopping to admire the changing leaves and take photos with some charming pigeons (I can't resist a good bird selfie, you know).

Fashion Finds and Friday Fun

Friday night, it was off to Broadway for the biggest fashion extravaganza – "Moulin Rouge! The Musical." Goodness me! It was absolutely sensational, all red sequins, dazzling feathers, and a glorious cabaret feel! Afterward, I made my way to my favourite little vintage boutique in Greenwich Village, "La Vie En Rose," a place that’s overflowing with whimsical clothes and beautiful old tutus. They had the most divine pink tulle skirt that I had to snag! I'll be wearing it in my next video for sure!

Saturday Sparkle

Saturday started early with a ballet class at the famous Steps on Broadway, an incredible space with stunning mirrored walls. I was the only one in pink tutu (though I wasn't surprised) but it didn’t matter. My pink tutus always attract attention. It was great to be surrounded by such a talented group, learning from experienced instructors and being reminded just how much I love being on pointe. I definitely felt like I belonged!

Saturday Night Fever (Not Actually!)

The highlight of Saturday had to be a dazzling performance at the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center. It was incredible! They were dancing some complex and daring choreography. It was a real treat for any dance lover. And, of course, I was ready for a few photo ops after the show. The twinkling lights of New York city and a ballerina in pink, you just can't go wrong.

Sunday Serenity

Sunday morning was for wandering through Brooklyn, a hip and creative neighbourhood with art galleries and artisan coffee shops around every corner. I got lost in a book shop for ages (a true love of mine) before heading to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It’s so serene. I had to pause my tutu-ing to just take it all in. I find moments like this to be absolutely inspiring for my dancing.

Pink Tutu Power

As the sun started to set, it was time to board the metro and head back to my little haven in Manhattan, buzzing with the day’s adventures. It’s amazing how something so simple, like a pink tutu, can be a conversation starter.

On my way back from a little shopping spree at Tiffany’s (where, naturally, I bought myself a small sparkly present – you’ll just have to wait to see!), I overheard a couple talking about tutus and how they could use some sparkle in their life! It warmed my heart.

Sharing the Joy of Pink

It's moments like this that remind me why I do what I do. It’s not about just being a ballerina. It’s about making people smile, spreading positivity, and sharing a little bit of magic, even if it means being the only one wearing a pink tutu on the metro.

New York State of Mind

You know what they say, if you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere! And while I was in NYC, I definitely felt like I was making it happen! The energy here is contagious, the fashion is exhilarating, and the passion for performing arts is unmatched!

So, until next week, keep spreading those pink tutu vibes!

Sending love from London Emma xoxo
