Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post #429 - Dancing in the City That Never Sleeps!

Hello darlings!

It's Monday, which means it's time for a new Pink Tutu Blog NYC post! This week has been absolutely fabulous!

You know how much I love to travel, and this week, I was lucky enough to be in the one and only New York City! It's my favourite place in the world, with its buzzing energy, iconic sights, and endless possibilities. But of course, no trip to the Big Apple is complete without a dose of ballet, my other true love!

I'm here for a dream of a few days - I've been performing at a gorgeous theatre with my fellow ballerinas, a truly enchanting space. Let me tell you, New Yorkers appreciate the arts! Every night the audience erupts in applause, cheering us on like we’re superstars. It’s enough to make a girl blush!

Speaking of blushing, I've been making the most of the city's endless shopping opportunities, naturally! New York is like a giant fashion playground. Think: racks upon racks of dazzling clothes, shoes that could make your head spin, and endless accessories - the perfect place to find the ultimate pink tutu to bring home as a souvenir. And trust me, my friends, I haven't been disappointed!

I have to share a bit of a funny anecdote…I found myself in a charming boutique in Soho, where I found a divine fuchsia silk tutu (which, I'm so excited about, by the way!). Well, this charming sales assistant, who just so happened to be sporting a hot pink bandana (see, I told you, New Yorkers are fashionable!), actually encouraged me to strut my stuff in the middle of the shop! My fellow shoppers seemed delighted and cheered me on - so naturally, I danced for a little bit, which just ended up with everyone wanting to know about the Pink Tutu Blog! It's moments like these that really solidify my belief: everyone can be a ballerina, and we can all embrace the pink together!

Now, no trip to New York is complete without experiencing the magic of Broadway. I had the pleasure of seeing “The Phantom of the Opera” at the magnificent Majestic Theatre - what an incredible experience! Seeing that show live just took my breath away. The staging was jaw-dropping, the costumes were spectacular, and the singers had me completely captivated. If you ever find yourself in New York, do yourself a favor and make sure you catch this production! It will absolutely blow you away!

On the subject of 'blowing you away,' the food in New York City is absolutely incredible! I love discovering hidden gems tucked away on little side streets. One particularly delightful find was this cosy Italian trattoria called “Mamma Mia's”. The portions were generous (because, well, New York loves big!), and I even indulged in a bit of decadent tiramisu! (Oh, to have your own personal tiramisu waiter every day!).

You see, the best thing about traveling is finding those unexpected treasures - little moments that make a trip truly special. And New York, darling, you’re just overflowing with treasures! From street art murals that could rival an art gallery to bustling farmers markets bursting with vibrant fruits and veggies, it’s like a treasure chest waiting to be explored!

Speaking of exploring, I absolutely love the New York City metro! Sure, it's busy, and sometimes the stations have a touch of 'ahem', that particular New York charm, but it's the fastest and most efficient way to get around! Plus, there’s something so romantic about rushing through tunnels in the heart of the city, with all the sights flashing by!

Honestly, I think New York City deserves all the hype and glamour! It's the place where dreams are made, fashion is celebrated, and of course, every single day is an opportunity to twirl in your favourite pink tutu! (You're not forgetting you should own a pink tutu, are you, darling?!). And honestly, could a week in a city this glamorous possibly have a bad ending? Well, I definitely can't think of a more perfect ending than … drumroll… my ballet performance this evening. It's been so much fun sharing the magic of ballet with everyone, and, of course, it just wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Blog post without a dose of ‘Pink’ inspiration.

As you all know, my pink tutu mission is always about more than just wearing tutus! It’s about spreading the message of joy, self-expression, and dancing through life with your head held high and a smile on your face! (Oh, and of course, looking amazing whilst doing it).

Today, as I take to the stage once more, I can't help but feel a little bit like a superhero. A ballet superhero, of course, sporting my brightest pink tutu - the tutu that represents confidence, the tutu that reminds you to dream big and sparkle bright!

So, here’s to more ballet magic in the Big Apple! Here's to making New York City the place where we all find the pink tutu of our dreams. And remember, darlings: Never be afraid to wear your tutu proudly, let your inner ballerina shine, and most importantly, always dance with your heart.

Sending you lots of pink and sparkly love, Emma xx

P.S. Don't forget to check back next Monday for more exciting adventures from the world of Pink Tutu Blog! And if you haven’t already, head over to www.pink-tutu.com for my latest posts, updates and more tutu inspiration!

P.P.S. (Because this week has been just SO amazing!) I have to add a special thanks to my beautiful family, especially my mum who’s been following my travels and has helped with so much on this trip. Her encouraging words mean the world and it’s never been easier to travel thanks to her. I love you Mum! X
