Hello my darling tutu-loving readers! It's Monday again, which means it's time for another NYC adventure! 🗽 This week I'm back in the heart of the Big Apple, my pink tutu twirling with excitement, as I dive headfirst into a whirlwind of ballet, fashion, and everything fabulously pink!
Remember those fabulous tickets I won to see "The Nutcracker" at the Lincoln Center? Well, this weekend I was whisked away to the magic of this holiday classic! The twinkling lights, the majestic sets, and the sheer brilliance of the dancers left me feeling like I was floating on a cloud of tulle! 🤩 Every time I watch a ballet performance, I feel a spark of inspiration ignite within me. It reminds me of the pure joy of movement and the artistry of expressing emotions through dance. And that feeling just makes me want to don my own pink tutu and twirl all night long! ✨
New York, you know me! You're like a giant catwalk waiting to be explored. And I haven't wasted any time discovering the treasures you have to offer! I spent Saturday morning navigating the bustling streets of SoHo, my pink tutu making a splash amongst the stylish New Yorkers. (Honestly, even with all the amazing fashion here, pink tutus are still the most striking garment!) And what did I find? You guessed it - a pink tutu dream come true! 💖 A small boutique hidden away in a cobblestone alleyway housed a treasure trove of tutus, every colour of the rainbow, but I just couldn't resist the one with shimmering pink sequins that practically screamed "Emma, take me home!". It's now proudly residing in my wardrobe, awaiting its debut in an upcoming performance!
The New York Ballet is absolutely amazing. I found out today that it was established in 1948! That makes it older than my grandparents! 😂 I'm planning to take a class this week. My pink tutu's going to be perfect for the "advanced intermediate" class. You can just imagine the excited giggles I'll elicit from fellow ballerinas - it's just not fair to be this much fun in a tutu! 😏
Did I mention I fell head over heels for a charming little café near Central Park? Imagine a Parisian café, transported to the heart of New York City. The atmosphere was pure magic, and they had the best almond croissants I've ever tasted! 🥐 There's no denying - New York has definitely won a piece of my heart!
Speaking of New York winning over my heart, I can't go a week in the Big Apple without immersing myself in some incredible Broadway performances! 🎭 This weekend I went to see the highly-acclaimed "Wicked" and oh my goodness! I just had to see it! You simply can't go to NYC without seeing one of their many fabulous shows! My pink tutu and I took a bow as we walked out of the theater. After all, no show is truly complete without a little bit of pink tutu magic! ✨
Did you know that "The Wizard of Oz" was a broadway show first, before becoming a movie? Amazing!
I can't let a NYC blog go by without mentioning the wonderful metro! I absolutely love travelling on the underground here, and it seems my pink tutu gets just as much attention here too! People stop me every other journey to ask me if I'm part of a show, if I'm a professional ballerina, where they can buy a pink tutu like mine, you name it! I can't believe the level of interest, and honestly, it just makes my heart swell with joy! 💖
I always seem to be on the go here, my pink tutu twirling to the beat of the city, and I'm honestly not complaining! I wouldn't trade this fast-paced, vibrant lifestyle for anything in the world! The energy here is contagious, and it pushes me to keep pushing myself, both as a dancer and as a person.
And hey, don't forget the ultimate goal - to spread the joy of pink tutus across the globe! 🌎 This week's mission? Convince a group of fellow ballerinas to wear pink tutus for a ballet performance in Central Park. Just imagine - a whole sea of pink! The ultimate statement for our passion! ✨
