Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post 604 – New York City, New Year's Day

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back from my New York adventure, with another exciting week of happenings to share with you all!

As you know, I'm all about the pink life – pink tutu, pink lipstick, pink lemonade, the lot. And my love for all things pink definitely didn't take a break when I stepped foot in the Big Apple! The energy here is electric, the sights are stunning, and even the taxis are bright yellow. But don't think for a second I'm sacrificing my personal style, my darlings. In this fabulous metropolis, the pink tutu still reigns supreme!

So let's rewind the clock a little and talk about the highlight of my weekend - New Year's Eve!

I had the honour of performing at the dazzling, luxurious Plaza Hotel, a beautiful grand hotel that looked like something out of a fairytale! Can you imagine? Dancing under the iconic clock at midnight, amidst the swirling confetti and happy faces, all wearing a sparkling pink tutu. Absolutely magical! And the pay? A dream come true. I had enough to treat myself to some seriously fabulous vintage finds from a cute little boutique near Central Park - imagine a pristine, lilac feathered bolero paired with a delicate pearl-beaded necklace, oh the elegance! I can't wait to pair it with my pink tutu at my next performance, I'm picturing something spectacular, maybe a performance in a regal ballroom? dreamy sigh

As much as I love performing, I have to admit, exploring the vibrant heart of New York City is equally as exhilarating.

This week I hopped onto the subway, an incredible network of underground railways, for a thrilling adventure into the bustling world of Times Square. It's like stepping onto the set of a Hollywood film! Everywhere you look, there are dazzling lights, billboards advertising everything you could ever imagine, and enough energy to power a thousand discos! The sheer brilliance of it all had me snapping away like a crazed paparazzi. And what better way to document the experience than with a fabulous pink tutu, right?

After the dizzying rush of Times Square, I needed some retail therapy, so I took myself on a stroll along Fifth Avenue, a veritable heaven of high-end fashion and luxury stores. My dear friends, it was pure heaven! All those designer gowns, handbags and shoes, I could just dream about having a room full of these lovely creations! But, to be honest, you don't need fancy shops and high prices to find a fabulous outfit, just take a wander around SoHo for some independent, one-off shops where you can truly express your individual style. My most recent find? A magnificent silk scarf with tiny pink butterflies and the softest lavender petals. It's simply divine and perfectly suited for a romantic stroll in Central Park. Speaking of Central Park, imagine a peaceful afternoon enjoying a leisurely picnic in the shade of a majestic oak tree, while listening to a talented musician play beautiful tunes – bliss

So much more happened during my exciting weekend, darlings. I dined in a little Italian restaurant and indulged in the most divine spaghetti al pesto. The owner, a charismatic man with the warmest eyes, regaled us with his tales of life in New York. We spent the evening listening to the lively jazz music wafting through the air. I even saw a beautiful performance of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake at Lincoln Center, such a delightful surprise. It filled me with joy to see such raw talent showcased, reminding me why I am so passionate about my own dance journey!

Of course, all of these adventures wouldn't be possible without the fantastic performances I manage to land. As you know, I take every opportunity to showcase my unique talent - there's no greater thrill than seeing my dreams come to life, twirling under the stage lights in my trusty pink tutu.

Oh, but the most delightful discovery this weekend was a hidden gem of a bakery called 'Pink Flamingo'. Talk about a pink princess paradise! It offered every imaginable pink dessert - cupcakes, macarons, meringues - I simply couldn't resist indulging! And for my pink-tutu-loving readers, I discovered a shop selling an absolutely magnificent range of ballet shoes, they are positively calling my name, darling! It's the ultimate gift to your dancing soul.

New York, you've stolen my heart!

Until next week darlings, remember to follow your dreams and never be afraid to stand out. And always, always wear a pink tutu!
