Pink Tutu Blog NYC: #706 - New York City, Monday 15th December 2008

Hello my gorgeous little pink tutu darlings!

Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, dedicated to all things pink, sparkly, and twirly! This week I'm whisking you away to the bustling heart of New York City - a haven for fashion, dance, and all things glamorous.

I can't believe it's December already, the air is starting to crackle with festive energy! The Christmas lights are twirling their magic all over the city, casting a shimmering glow onto the snowy streets. I swear, the magic of New York in winter really does rival the fairy dust at the ballet!

Speaking of magic... I had a simply delightful week! My week started off with a delightful trip to Lincoln Center to see a matinee performance of 'The Nutcracker'. Let's be honest, I can't resist a good Christmas ballet, and this production was absolutely divine. I even managed to snag a backstage pass to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy herself! It was pure bliss.

This week, I decided to channel my inner ballerina on the subway. Yes, you read that right! Now, don't judge - the vibrant energy of the subway was practically begging to be turned into a dance floor. I slipped on my favourite, candy pink tutu (the one with the shimmering sequin embellishments) and felt like I was ready to take on the world...or at least the entire A train!

There were a few surprised glances and, of course, some giggles, but the best part was the pure joy it brought me! A quick twirl in the station is guaranteed to turn any mundane commute into a mini-performance!

The beauty of this city never ceases to amaze me. After a morning spent exploring the elegant boutiques of Madison Avenue, I found myself browsing the vintage racks in the East Village, hoping to find the perfect vintage costume piece for my upcoming show. Let's be honest, you can never have enough sequins and tulle in your wardrobe, especially for the festive season!

Don't worry, I didn't leave the city empty-handed. I managed to unearth a stunning sequined cape - just imagine, shimmering against the twinkling Christmas lights! Now I'm dreaming of creating a ballet-inspired, sparkly, New York-inspired festive look. Maybe with some pink tights, or perhaps a dramatic headpiece... The possibilities are truly endless!

Later in the week, I found myself enjoying the breathtaking view from the Empire State Building, gazing out across the cityscape as the sun began to set. It's amazing to think that this towering marvel is just one of the many iconic landmarks that make this city so special. It truly is a magical place!

So, my darlings, I'm signing off for now, but I promise to be back next week with more dazzling New York adventures. Until then, be sure to keep those tutus twirling and spread the pink love wherever you go. And don't forget to check out the www.pink-tutu.com website!

Sending you all a wave of pink, sparkling energy!
