Pink Tutu Blog NYC - Post 759: New York City's Magic - A Twirling Christmas!

Hello darlings! It's Monday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog NYC post! As you know, this week is extra special. Christmas is just around the corner, and New York City is glistening like a gigantic Christmas bauble! Honestly, the energy here is absolutely infectious, with carols floating on the frosty air and every storefront adorned with twinkly lights. And of course, I’m in my favourite spot in the world - my beloved New York, adorned with a new pink tutu in homage to this magnificent city!

As many of you know, my travels are funded by my ballet performances. Every gig, every twirl brings me one step closer to achieving my dream of seeing the world. This week, I graced the stage at a charity performance of ‘The Nutcracker’ at the New York City Ballet, and the experience was truly magical. The children in the audience were wide-eyed with wonder as they witnessed the magic of the story unfold. And I’m not going to lie, a tiny tear escaped when the snow scene started – it really is that wonderful!

But, before I go on about the performance, I simply HAVE to tell you about my fabulous weekend! Saturday saw me lose myself in the sheer delight of the holiday windows. It is simply the best time to see New York, the department stores are beyond amazing! My favourite window this year is the Tiffany's one, it’s just jaw-droppingly stunning, a beautiful tribute to New York’s glamorous heritage!

But you know me, darling! It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Blog post without a little retail therapy. And boy, did I have some fun. I can’t even tell you how much gorgeousness I found. A stunning emerald green sequin dress perfect for the holiday season, and of course, a brand new pink tutu, just to keep things exciting! Let me just tell you - finding the perfect pink tutu in New York is a thrill! There are SO many shops bursting with tulle dreams.

Speaking of dreams, the next stop was a special Broadway show – "A Christmas Carol"! Honestly, the stage production was beyond amazing. There’s a special kind of magic in Broadway shows, it’s so much more than a show, it’s an experience.

And just when I thought my weekend couldn’t get any better, Sunday rolled around and I was gifted with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Imagine this: the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, shimmering with twinkling lights, the crowd humming along to carols, and a magnificent, dazzling ice show! It was truly an unforgettable experience! The ice dancers were so elegant, gracefully navigating the ice like swans on water. You should have seen me, darling – I couldn't help but let loose and do a little twirling myself! It truly is a magical sight.

Of course, what would be a New York visit without a trip on the Metro? Let’s face it, this is my favourite form of transport – a wonderful little adventure in itself! Just a note for those visiting, New Yorkers are famous for their energy, and there’s nothing quite like navigating the rush hour with a suitcase full of gorgeous new outfits, especially with a sparkly pink tutu poking out of the top! I’ve already made several new friends and met some amazing people. I truly love the friendly bustle and the welcoming, fun-loving nature of this fabulous city.

As I end this week's blog, my pink tutu has become a permanent feature of my daily New York life, and it really does bring so much joy to my every step. It's a symbol of confidence, kindness, and pure fun! So, my darlings, get ready to twirl! The world awaits your sparkle!

Have a magical Christmas week!

Lots of love,

Emma, from Pink Tutu Blog NYC.
