Hello my darling Tutu-ettes! It's Monday, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuBlogNYC update from your favourite tutu-wearing travel blogger, straight from the heart of New York City! It's the 25th of January, a beautiful crisp day that promises an equally beautiful adventure. As always, my sparkly pink tutu is at the ready for anything the Big Apple throws at me.
Catching the Subway and Broadway Fever!
It's amazing what a bit of colour and tulle can do to liven up the greyest of city days, isn't it? Today, my lovely pink tutu is shimmering like a beacon of sunshine against the subway’s stark, grey concrete walls as I zoom down to the heart of the action: Times Square! Oh, there's something absolutely exhilarating about the rumble and shake of the New York subway - even the sound feels like an exciting, unpredictable performance. I'm reminded, somehow, of that old cliché about 'The Show Must Go On,' and I can't help but feel a little thrill as I travel like this, part of the ebb and flow of the city's own rhythm.
And speaking of shows... it's going to be an evening of the grandest scale - a visit to the world-famous Broadway, where I'll be taking in a classic. Oh, how I adore these sparkling extravaganzas of song, dance, and story! Every costume, every move, the way it all weaves together - there's nothing quite like it in the world. But more about that later…
Tutu-tastic Treasures of Midtown
Before heading into the glorious bright lights of the theatre, I've got some time to spend in this glorious, glittering city! And where better to spend it than in Midtown Manhattan? My plan for the afternoon is to immerse myself in the delightful world of fashion, as only a girl who loves a good pink tutu could!
Imagine: a wonderland of shops where I can happily browse for hours - Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, Tiffany’s! It’s simply a ballet-dancer’s paradise! (Or shall I say, a Tutu-ette’s paradise!)
Pink Tutu, Meet Pink Lipstick!
While my darling pink tutu takes center stage on any adventure, today's outfit will be complimented by a special touch. I'm looking for the perfect pink lipstick to match my tutu for the Broadway show - it's all about embracing the full power of feminine charm.
Of course, there’s nothing quite like that heady feeling of discovering the perfect lipstick shade to complete your look. It’s like magic. I imagine finding a perfect scarlet to wear when dancing Giselle in Derbyshire, England (where I am from, but I am now living in the heart of New York) - all those times dancing the ‘mad scene’ in my tiny dance school studio, those magical moments transformed into memories. But for now, the focus is New York. The shops in Midtown Manhattan beckon - their glass windows shimmering with promise - as they showcase the latest fashions and colors! I love the vibrant energy here! And I especially love seeing the fashion trends - every street is a mini-fashion show - I am like a child in a candy shop! And don’t even get me started on the shoes…
Tea Time Delights in Midtown Manhattan!
My adventures in the shopping paradise of Midtown Manhattan have me feeling a bit famished, so of course, no day is complete without a proper afternoon tea. A delightful pot of steaming Earl Grey with freshly baked scones, jam and cream - truly, an English girl can never be too far away from a cuppa! This little ritual always reminds me of home, of my comfy childhood home, and of that wonderful feeling of being cocooned and cared for, no matter where I am.
The Lights of Broadway: A Theatre Dream
As the sun dips below the city skyline, it’s time for my Broadway show! A real highlight of my time here - I love to be immersed in these fabulous productions, surrounded by excited, chattering audiences. Today’s pick is a classic: [insert a classic Broadway show name]

This evening, as I walk down a street glowing with neon lights and hear the constant rhythm of city life pulsing around me, I can’t help but feel utterly grateful for this amazing opportunity. It’s a dream come true - my life in New York City!
You know what? I have a plan: every time I wear my pink tutu, I'm going to encourage someone else to embrace the joy of a tutu, just for one day! I imagine the streets of New York brimming with colourful twirling tutus - it's just such a cheerful way to inject a bit of light and fun into the everyday!
