Post Number 803: A Week of Tutu-ing Around New York

Hello darlings! Welcome back to the Pink Tutu Blog! This week has been a whirl of tutus and sparkles as Iā€™ve been shimmying and twirling through the glorious streets of New York City. I canā€™t believe Iā€™m still here; this city truly captures my heart, especially with its vibrant theatre scene and all the wonderful ballet events I've been soaking up.

This Monday, as I sip my morning coffee (yes, I even manage to get a coffee-loving Londoner into American coffee!), I thought I'd regale you all with the most fantastic week Iā€™ve had so far! It's time for a peek behind the tutu at how I've been celebrating all things ballet in the Big Apple.

A Tutu-ful Start

It all began with the sheer excitement of stepping off the train at Grand Central Terminal! Iā€™ve got to admit, I felt like I was walking into a film, especially after seeing that iconic clock above me, which really had me feeling like a fairytale princess. And as always, the magic really started as I put on my special New York tutu! Pink, of course! Just for New York. Itā€™s got sparkly diamantĆ©s sewn onto it, with the big apple embroidered on the waistband. Oh, I felt like I was part of the Broadway stage already.

Ballet Class at the Heart of the City

This week I was treated to a divine ballet class at the glorious Steps on Broadway dance studio. Just imagine: an immaculate studio, sun streaming in through big windows, and the amazing scent of wooden floors and that unique ballet perfume. Itā€™s enough to make your heart sing, darling! My instructor was a real old-school New Yorker ā€“ strict but so funny and always supportive, I loved it.

But the real highlight? Sharing my love of ballet with other fabulous ladies! Just watch out, because this little tutu princess has been busy introducing the other ladies to the joy of twirling with a Pink Tutu! Some even told me how itā€™s inspiring them to ditch the black leotard for a touch of pink! Oh, wouldn't it be divine to have every dancer in a Pink Tutu! I know that's a little ambitious, but one can dream, right?

Fashion Forward at Bergdorf Goodman

Of course, no trip to New York is complete without a visit to the luxurious fashion houses! I found myself swooning at Bergdorf Goodman, their shoes were to die for! And their clothes! It's like stepping into a wonderland, and a whole lot of pink. Their latest collection even featured a delicate pink chiffon dress - I had to resist, itā€™s probably my next must-have for a performance or a date.

The Splendour of the Met

I even got a glimpse of Metropolitan Operaā€™s opening night! Just as youā€™d expect, the place was a blaze of glamour! I took inspiration from the beautiful opera singers and fashionistas strutting around. Some of those gowns, well, I'll tell you, you need a lot of sequins to outshine those fabulous dresses! Perhaps the ladies in those spectacular gowns would be a great target for some Pink Tutu recruitment! Haha!

Dining Dreams at the Plaza Hotel

Speaking of glitz and glam, this week I enjoyed an extravagant afternoon tea at The Plaza Hotel. I have to say, that famous New York hotel has real charm, the high ceilings, the gorgeous chandeliers ā€“ it was like stepping out of a storybook! They have pink and red cakes, you know, but sadly, no Pink Tutu shaped treats. A missed opportunity, don't you think? Maybe I'll just have to return another week!

Dancing with the Stars of Broadway

And of course, the biggest thrill of all? Finally, I caught a Broadway show! And guess what? A ballet performance, oh darling! They had all the best elements: amazing dancers with those leaps and bounds, all in glorious costumes ā€“ one was even made entirely out of tulle, which made me just gasp! It felt like magic. You know Iā€™ve always dreamt of gracing those stages. Maybe next week? wink, wink!

More Adventures to Come!

And my journey here isnā€™t over! Tomorrow I plan to visit the Guggenheim Museum - it's supposed to be an incredible building, so much art inspiration waiting for me! I canā€™t wait! Later this week I'll be back on Broadway! A ballet class in Times Square? Thatā€™s where I want to be, right in the heart of the action! Iā€™m telling you, life as a ballerina in the Big Apple is pretty incredible.

Now, itā€™s time to pack my pink ballet shoes and get ready to explore some more New York charm. Iā€™ll let you know what exciting adventures await me in the week ahead! Remember to visit www.pink-tutu.com to see my posts every Monday and keep up-to-date on my exciting life in NYC!

Until next time, remember to keep shining bright and embrace a touch of pink magic in your everyday life!

XOXO,

Emma, the Pink Tutu Blogger

P.S. You know what would really complete this week? More pink tutus on the streets of New York! How about it, girls? Wouldnā€™t it be so much fun to see this city twirl in pink?! Maybe we can have a ā€œPink Tutu Flash Mobā€? Just a thought! But you know what, we can definitely dream, canā€™t we?
