Pink Tutu Blog: NYC - Monday 28th November 2011 - Post #860

Hello lovelies!

Welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog, where it's always a fabulous day to twirl. Today marks my eighth week in New York City, and believe me, every day has been a whirlwind of excitement, sparkles, and of course, tutus!

This week, I've been exploring all the magical hidden gems this metropolis has to offer, and trust me, I have a whole heap of stories to tell!

Tutus and Times Square - A Colourful Clash!

Firstly, let's talk tutus! This week, I felt inspired by the iconic colours of Times Square, so I opted for a bright pink tutu with neon green detailing, a matching crop top, and a glittery pink bomber jacket for a touch of Manhattan edge. Trust me, when you're standing next to those giant luminous billboards, you've got to make sure you're shining too!

After a quick photo shoot in front of the red stairs, we (my trusty Tutu Squad - more on them later!) jumped on the subway to head to Lincoln Center. This beautiful building is like a grand, historical ballet palace! The vibe here is so inspiring, and just being there sparks creativity and artistry.

Ballet and Broadway: A Magical Night

We saw a stunning production of "Giselle" at the New York City Ballet. It was captivating, beautiful, and deeply moving, with the most intricate choreography, elegant costumes, and powerful performances. I even managed to catch a sneak peek of the dancers warming up before the show – it's amazing to see them go from backstage to centre stage. It really shows that dedication, practice, and passion are all you need to reach your dreams.

Fashion Find: Tutus in Manhattan

I couldn't leave NYC without snagging a few tutu treasures, and I found a fantastic vintage shop on Bleecker Street overflowing with amazing pink and fluffy tulle. My wardrobe needed a few more pieces, don't you think? My favourite pick? A powder-pink tulle skirt that would look sensational at any party. Oh, and I even managed to find a black tulle tutu, perfect for a modern dance-inspired look. A girl can never have too many tutus, right?

The Tutu Squad - Sharing the Twirl Love

Of course, my adventure wouldn't be half as fabulous without my fabulous friends here! My trusty Tutu Squad is the reason behind all the fun, the laughter, and the most beautiful moments in the city. They're like my dancing family, supporting my dreams, encouraging my tutus, and sharing in every exciting moment. And this week, the Tutu Squad convinced me to go to a burlesque performance in Brooklyn. I had so much fun - feathers, sequins, sassy steps, it was amazing! You can imagine that it inspired some future outfit ideas... ;)

Tutuing through Time: Exploring NYC

This week's exploring took me through a world of sights. We explored Central Park – so peaceful amongst the bustling city. We took a boat ride and had a picnic. And let me tell you, the fresh air and stunning views really make the park feel like an escape from the big city. We also ventured into the trendy neighbourhoods of Soho and Nolita. The street art, quirky shops, and buzzing energy of those places was so inspiring.

My Favourite New York Moment: A Rooftop View with a Tutu

To end the week on a high, we took a trip up to a rooftop bar at sunset. I chose to wear a beautiful pink tutu and a soft pastel-pink blouse – a perfect mix of dreamy and bold. It was a moment I'll never forget: twirling, giggling, and sipping cocktails on the rooftop, watching the city lights shimmer as the sun dipped below the horizon.

A Tutuful Thought: Spreading the Love

My main mission on this trip is to get everyone, everywhere to experience the magic of the tutu! So keep a look out, you might spot a twirling Pink Tutu Girl somewhere in the city. You know it’s me by the wide smile and the sparkle in my eyes.

And that brings us to the end of this week's post. Until next Monday, keep your tutus ready to twirl! Don't forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com for all the latest news and pics!

Stay pink, my darlings!

Love,

Emma
