Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind weekend in the dazzling metropolis that is New York City! 🏙️ This city is truly electric, buzzing with energy and excitement – a real tonic for the soul!

I've been saving up for this trip for months, squeezing in extra ballet performances and teaching to fund my trip, and I am so glad I did. New York has been utterly magical! 💖

This week's #PinkTutuBlogNYC post is dedicated to my New York adventures, filled with everything from a trip to the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art to discovering hidden gems of delicious New York eats. I can't wait to share all the details with you.

One of the main reasons for my trip was the absolute treat of seeing a performance by the American Ballet Theatre at the stunning Metropolitan Opera House. Oh my, what a spectacle! I've been following this company since I was a little girl – they are, quite simply, some of the most brilliant dancers in the world! It was thrilling to finally witness them perform live. The grandeur of the Met, with its magnificent stage, combined with the energy and artistry of the dancers was utterly breathtaking.

As a proud ballerina, the sheer talent I witnessed that night truly inspired me! It made me feel all the more determined to pursue my passion and share the beauty of ballet with the world.

And speaking of inspiring performances, this evening I saw the fantastically creative show "Hadestown" which is being held in the gorgeous Circle in the Square Theatre. Oh what an experience that was - I am in awe! The musical arrangements were breathtakingly good and the performance of the actors was top-notch, I’ve come away utterly inspired by their dedication to theatre and artistry.

It’s such a treat being able to spend time surrounded by all this wonderful talent! 💖

No trip to New York would be complete without a shopping spree, and let's be honest, my pink tutu has its own wardrobe, so this city is right up my alley!

My first stop was, of course, Fifth Avenue, that quintessential New York shopping destination! My eyes practically popped out of my head! The window displays were a sight to behold! All the iconic brands I could imagine were represented - Bergdorf Goodman, Tiffany's, Louis Vuitton, and the ever-so-glamorous Saks Fifth Avenue.

But the highlight for me was wandering off the main strip and discovering little boutiques filled with unique pieces, vintage finds and treasures waiting to be found! It was such a pleasure discovering hidden fashion gems, the thrill of unearthing something special - that is always the true joy of shopping.

One thing I love about shopping in New York is that the atmosphere is vibrant and full of character! The energy, the hustle and bustle of shoppers and shopkeepers alike - I find it infectious and exhilarating!

A New York Food Journey: From Brunch to Broadway Bites

Now, I know you're all wondering about my foodie finds. Oh, let me tell you, New York didn't disappoint. The city truly has something to suit every palate.

From Broadway shows to ballet classes and performances, my days are packed! And I’m discovering that New Yorkers like to keep their energy levels up with delicious brunches - often with bagels and a generous dollop of cream cheese!

The brunch culture here is fantastic! Everyone flocks to cafes on a Sunday morning to catch up with friends, often accompanied by mimosas. And the food - oh the food! So many amazing choices, whether you fancy avocado on toast, fluffy pancakes, or eggs benedict, it's a dream come true for a foodie like myself.

Of course, I can’t come to New York and not indulge in some of its most iconic treats. I absolutely had to have a New York slice of pizza! And it didn't disappoint - crisp and delicious! And the street food stalls here? It’s a culinary journey all on its own - from steaming hot pretzels to churros, there’s a treat for everyone!

So, as a fellow pink tutu lover, I know you’re all thinking, "But where are the BEST places to wear a pink tutu in New York?" And trust me, I've been putting that question to the test all weekend!

I knew I simply had to take a trip to Central Park while in New York, and it did not disappoint! This incredible oasis is so much more than just a park! From scenic lakes and romantic bridges to lush lawns and vibrant flower beds, it’s the most perfect place to wear a pink tutu, especially if you're feeling a bit of "dance-in-the-park" inspiration.

As I twirled along, imagining myself as a ballerina in the midst of the city’s busiest park, the hustle and bustle seemed to melt away. It felt so magical to feel a connection with nature, while simultaneously being in the heart of the metropolis.

This world-famous crossroads had to make the list, right? Where else can you combine dazzling lights, non-stop action and iconic entertainment with a vibrant, girly tutu? Times Square is simply irresistible! It's truly a unique spot that radiates such positive energy and buzz.

I know wearing a pink tutu in Times Square might seem out of place - but when you’re dancing under those dazzling billboards, you just feel fabulous! It's all about embracing your own personal style and spreading the joy of twirling. And what could be better than wearing a pink tutu while celebrating life, liberty and a vibrant city that's overflowing with culture?

Ah, the Brooklyn Bridge! What an architectural marvel it is, a must-visit for any New Yorker, or visitor for that matter. And naturally, it's a must-try destination for your pink tutu escapades.

It's the most beautiful way to connect Manhattan and Brooklyn! As you’re walking across, there are stunning views of the Lower Manhattan skyline. You get the perfect combination of natural beauty, cityscapes, and history. I found myself swept up in the sense of wonder. It's an ideal spot to embrace the power of colour and feminine elegance - your pink tutu will stand out so perfectly against the cityscape!

You just cannot miss the iconic bright lights of Broadway when in New York!

Broadway shows are more than just plays. They're extravagant, dazzling experiences that combine drama, music, and artistry to create truly memorable moments. There's something magical about the energy of the theatre district, and the atmosphere makes you want to spin and dance with joy! Of course, no Broadway visit is complete without a dazzling pink tutu!

My weekend in New York has been a dream come true! This city, its vibrant energy, and its endless opportunities for inspiration and exploration. And of course, its fabulous fashion and dance scenes are what I love most about it!

While I’m still exploring, there’s no denying that New York truly has everything – from historical monuments and vibrant parks, to iconic theatres and endless shopping options. The atmosphere is infectious - the constant hustle and bustle never feels overwhelming!

Being here has reinforced my belief that the most important thing is to embrace your own individuality and pursue your dreams. For me, it's dancing, performing and sharing the joy of ballet with everyone! And who knows, maybe my travels might inspire a whole new generation of pink tutu lovers? 💖
