Hello, darling readers, and welcome to my weekly #PinkTutuBlogNYC. It’s me, your favourite pink-loving, tutu-obsessed, travel-mad ballerina, Emma, here in the heart of the dazzling, glamorous city that never sleeps, New York City! I’m thrilled to be sharing all the twirls, pirouettes and sartorial adventures I’ve been having. Buckle up, loves, it’s a whirl of a tale!
From Derbyshire to NYC, and a tutu full of dreams!
For you lovely lot that haven't already met me, I'm Emma, a Derbyshire girl with a love of pink and a passion for all things ballet. I've always believed that a little bit of sparkle can make everything brighter, and that a pink tutu is the ultimate expression of joy. That's why I decided to turn my dream of dancing around the world into a reality. I funded my adventure by performing ballet in various theatres and street shows. And what better place to kick off this incredible journey than the city of dreams, New York?
This week has been jam-packed with thrilling experiences. I began the week by making my way to a breathtaking ballet show at Lincoln Center. Oh my, the grandeur of it all! The entire experience was magical, a whirl of beautiful music, exquisite choreography and stunning dancers, all wrapped up in a gorgeous venue.
NYC Style Inspiration - Finding my perfect Pink Tutu!
My favourite part of visiting new cities is experiencing their fashion scene, and NYC has certainly lived up to the hype! My day began with a delicious brunch at a quaint, French-style cafe where I tried an exquisite Parisian omelette with a touch of fresh herbs. Afterwards, I spent an exhilarating afternoon exploring the designer boutiques of Fifth Avenue. Oh, darling, you should see the collection of tutu's I discovered – exquisite, frothy confections of tulle and silk! I must confess I couldn’t resist a few purchases - a dreamy tulle pink tutu in the lightest shade of baby pink, and a shimmering lilac number that'll be perfect for a romantic evening under the stars.
Tutu'd to the Nines - New York Adventures!
Later, after a delicious cup of hot chocolate at a vintage café, I decided to take my new tutu for a spin! You see, there’s nothing better than twirling through the city streets with a gorgeous pink tutu! It brought so much joy to the passersby. I must admit, I also saw a few envious looks! They clearly knew a thing or two about the magic of a pink tutu! I felt like a princess in a fairytale!
Metromania - The Beauty of the New York Subway!
On my metro ride to Times Square, I noticed that so many people were rushing, but still had time to stop and look at the dancers on the platform - ballet street performances are becoming more and more popular in NYC! It truly showed the artistic spirit that this vibrant city breathes! I took the opportunity to watch these wonderful street performers, capturing the magic of New York. It was such an amazing and unexpected burst of culture in an otherwise chaotic atmosphere.
NYC's Ballet Treasures: A New York City Ballet Evening
Tonight, I’ll be watching the world-famous New York City Ballet perform at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. I cannot wait to be enveloped in the beautiful ballet world of the most iconic ballet companies. I'll be sure to share my experience with you lovely lot next week.
