This trip has been a dream come true! It’s hard to believe I'm actually here, twirling my way through Central Park and the iconic sights that only NYC can offer. 🌳🗽
A Ballerina's Paradise
You know me – my love for ballet is no secret! I was ecstatic to finally step inside the legendary Lincoln Center. The architecture is simply stunning and I spent an afternoon gazing up at its towering, grand facade, wondering what fabulous stories the walls held within. They must be overflowing with secrets, with whispered rehearsals and glittering premières. The atmosphere is electric! Just imagine all the rehearsals and first nights it's witnessed – it’s hard to describe without your hair standing on end.
This week I’m seeing the final production of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s season – I am just beside myself with excitement! 💃🏾 I’m a huge admirer of Ailey’s works – they are powerful, graceful, and full of emotion, perfect for soaking up every bit of their creativity. The power and passion on that stage is something special - I’m so looking forward to it!
Of course, no trip to New York City would be complete without a spot of ballet class! This weekend, I’m heading to the famed Steps on Broadway in the heart of the city. The dance studio itself is practically a legend in the world of ballet - so many incredible dancers have trained there! 🏆 I’ve been watching the YouTube videos and I just know this is going to be one unforgettable experience, learning from top-notch teachers and immersing myself in the world of professional dance. What better way to soak up the inspiration? ✨
Fashion in the City that Never Sleeps
I don't know about you guys, but I find that New York City's style is so effortless, yet undeniably chic. They’re definitely bold here and aren’t afraid of standing out! So much fabulous fashion is just oozing out from every doorway. 👗
You won’t be surprised to hear that my heart is set on getting myself a few fabulous pieces – after all, every tutu-wearing ballerina needs a fantastic wardrobe to match her spirit!
Yesterday, I took a trip to one of my absolute favourite department stores, the one that’s actually famous for its incredible window displays and for always being at the cutting edge of trends. You guessed it – Bergdorf Goodman! My eyes were popping at the sheer quantity and beauty of the outfits. It was so tempting to just say "Yes" to it all! 😂
For once, my inner ballerina took a back seat and my inner fashionista really stepped up. I spent the entire afternoon lost in a world of silken gowns, sparkling dresses, and dazzling accessories – the perfect fuel for a ballerina’s dream wardrobe! The colours were glorious - I actually picked up a few very striking shades of coral and even some cobalt blue, to give my pink some variety!
Speaking of fashion… a little inside secret - if you are in New York and looking for that extra touch of glamour, take a stroll down 5th Avenue in Manhattan! The shop window displays are breathtaking! 💫
A Tutu’s Delight: The Metro System
Ok, this might sound strange, but hear me out. New York’s metro system is pretty awesome when it comes to travelling - the way it just whizzes through the city makes it truly magical. The feeling of being swept along underground by this vast and complex network … well, it's kinda like being part of an incredible ballet, just with a few more passengers!
One little insider tip: you need to make sure you always have a good dose of pink in your outfit, it's the perfect touch of color against all the neutral-colored subway stations and tunnels! Believe me, you’ll definitely stand out in a sea of grey concrete.

New York is such an incredible city - full of vibrant energy, a true melting pot of different cultures and the sheer joy of just being alive! And it’s not just the food that’s so amazing - everything feels so alive here! The whole city buzzes with activity – I’m just absolutely in love!
Pink Tutu Update
You all know the pink tutu is more than just a piece of clothing for me, it’s an emblem of a life full of joy, creativity and of living life to the fullest! And in New York City, it's simply bursting with possibilities!
You'll catch me wearing a sparkly pink tutu with delicate flower embellishments at the Ailey dance show this weekend! Maybe it will even inspire some fellow New Yorkers to wear a pink tutu – you never know! 😉
