Pink Tutu Blog: NYC Adventures - Post #1033

Monday 23rd March 2015

Hello, my lovelies! It's Emma here, bringing you a vibrant burst of pink from the heart of New York City! I can hardly believe it's been a whole week since I last graced your screens with my ramblings - time flies when you're twirling through the Big Apple!

Today, I'm going to take you on a little tour of my latest NYC escapades. And wouldn't you know it, it's all been pink, glittery, and utterly fabulous!

A Ballet Bonanza

This past week, I found myself transported to another world thanks to the breathtaking beauty of the New York City Ballet. My toes have been itching for a good ballet performance since I touched down in this magical city, and this was a true feast for the eyes and ears. The costumes were glittering works of art, the dancers' movements a symphony of grace and power, and the music โ€“ oh, the music! I can still feel the goosebumps on my arms, and my heart is still overflowing with the emotion that washed over me during the performance.

Of course, I couldn't let such a splendid occasion pass by without rocking my signature pink tutu. This one, a pale pink confection with delicate layers of tulle and delicate pink pearl beading, felt utterly appropriate for such an exquisite occasion. I received countless compliments โ€“ including from a charming gentleman who offered to buy me a celebratory champagne.

Now, I know you might be wondering how I fund all this fantastic travelling, and the answer is quite simple - I earn my keep as a professional ballet dancer. After all, a pink tutu isn't going to pay for itself, especially when I'm determined to dance in as many countries as possible! Luckily, my talent has opened many doors for me, allowing me to grace the stages of London, Paris, and now New York City with my own brand of whimsical ballet.

Shop Til You Drop

After my exhilarating performance at the ballet, I decided to reward myself with some retail therapy in the most magnificent way possible: a trip to Bergdorf Goodman! Now, if you're a true fashionista, you already know what an experience this is. It's a feast for the senses, a visual ballet of colour, texture, and craftsmanship that I could get lost in for hours.

With my trusty pink tutu swishing behind me, I perused the designer dresses, shimmering shoes, and luxurious accessories with an excitement that felt like I was back in a childhood fairytale. The world felt like it was made of rainbows, and everything I touched had a touch of magic.

And speaking of rainbows, you wouldn't believe the amazing find I unearthed at Bergdorf's. You see, it all started with a little pink bow... or rather, a big pink bow, tied onto a chic little clutch purse! Now, I've always had a soft spot for pink bows, and this one was particularly enchanting. It was made from satin ribbon, shimmering like a precious gemstone, and had the most playful, flirtatious vibe.

I tried it on with several outfits, each one a testament to my belief that pink goes with everything. Finally, I decided to take it home with me, and I'm thrilled to add this little piece of whimsy to my already colourful collection.

A Bite of Brooklyn

You can't spend a day in New York without a delicious bite to eat, so after my shopping extravaganza, I decided to hop on the metro for a culinary adventure in Brooklyn. The metro here is a real character - busy, energetic, a bit of a whirlwind, but always a good time. The sounds of the city echo through the tunnels, the clatter of the wheels is rhythmic and oddly comforting, and the rush of the platform makes you feel truly alive.

Brooklyn, of course, is all the rage, and I'm always keen to explore the hidden gems that are tucked away in its streets. This week, I fell in love with a quirky little cafe called "The Tutu Teapot." Don't let the name fool you, it wasn't filled with ballet enthusiasts in tutus (although it was a dream of mine). Instead, it was an eclectic haven, a true testament to creativity. They had pink teacups and plates (naturally, my choice!) with little ballet dancers painted on them, and the cafe's signature dessert was a divine "Pink Ballet Ball" - a vanilla and berry creation with pink meringue and a little swirl of spun sugar to resemble a tutu.

It was there that I met the most charming couple, a husband and wife team who were celebrating their 20th anniversary. We struck up a conversation, and it turned out they had been following my blog for ages. The husband was even a ballet enthusiast! It felt like such a perfect ending to my pink day in Brooklyn, filled with conversation, laughter, and of course, pink.

Don't Be Shy, Wear a Pink Tutu!

Speaking of pink, I still believe wholeheartedly that everyone should try wearing a pink tutu at least once in their lives! Itโ€™s the perfect expression of confidence, whimsy, and joie de vivre. No matter who you are, or what you do, it's guaranteed to add a little bit of magic to your day.

So what are you waiting for? Take a step into the spotlight, embrace your inner ballerina, and twirl your way into a pink tutu today!

And donโ€™t forget to check out my new post every Monday here on www.pink-tutu.com. Iโ€™ll be sharing more of my adventures in New York City, and maybe even inspire you to pack your own pink tutu for a trip of your own.

Until next week, stay fabulous, my lovelies!

Love,

Emma
